Shepherd ponders place in the Newcastle revolution
Craig replied to Jimbo's topic in Newcastle Forum
For once, a wife is talking some sense.... -
I thought his correct name was Gabrielle "if its not Italian its shite" Marcotti ? There's that as well - lord help us if 'the special one' ever takes over as the Italian coach......
-
You asked for sauce! fucking gimp funny though You've got some front, I'll give you that.....

I was hugely optimistic when we signed Beasant, Thorn, Robertson and - O'Neil iirc. The season following was a disaster. It was Hendrie rather than O Neill. O Neill was already there. We sold Gazza then bought that lot. Got relegated. Sold Goddard too which was a bigger travesty IMO!

Gabriele 'I fucking love Jose Mourinho' Marcotti?? I can't fucking stand that prick!

Greatest Player You've Ever Seen In An England Shirt?
Craig replied to Tooj's topic in Newcastle Forum
Beardsley by a country mile. Gazza was probably the player with the greatest flair and as a result created a media circus around him which, ultimately and sadly, has turned him into the person he is today. Beardsley was like the engine that Bobby Robson built his team around between 1986 and 1990. Lineker scored all those goals, many of which were laid on by Pedro and Lineker has always said that Beardsley was the best strike partner he ever had. No coincidence to me that we went pear-shaped between 1990 and 1993 when 'Turnip' wouldn't play him... Gazza to me was at his best in the 87/88 season (his last one for us) when the rest of the country began to appreciate his talent. He went off the boil in his opening two seasons for Spurs and then obviously hit the world stage by storm in Italy! -
Maybe not what Sammy is alluding to but there are instances where Ferrari have got away with stuff that I'm adamant other teams wouldn't have had a prayer about. The barge-board fiasco in Malaysia '99 was a joke and I'm still totally unconvinced by them lobbing the toys out of the pram about the Michelin tyres. Strange how when their appeal was upheld, they suddenly went from strength to strength. Michelin simply exploited a loop-hole in a ruling... There's a growing contingent who believe FIA has a silent 't' on the end you know?

Not been a particularly busy day stats-wise. Any one's interested they can see for themselves here http://www.toontastic.net/cgi-bin/awstats/awstats.pl Not about to go all HTT on you and do a massive thread on them though

It's a little Gary Lineker On second glance he looks a bit like my young 'un.... Poor little sod if he's gonna end up looking like the Fish!

Maybe it is just me but I feel the most optimistic following summer transfer dealings than I have since the summer of '95 when we bought Ferdinand, Ginola, Barton & Hislop. Like KK did back then, I think SA is addressing the issues and with very positive captures too! The only comparable was the summer we signed Kluivert, Butt, Milner & Carr but that turned out to be a huge disappointment (compounded by the appointment of Souness soon afterwards).

Disgrace.... Nigel Stepney has been at the team for 15 years and was integral in taking them from also-rans to front-runners. They should be commending him, not blasting him. Dirty tricks campaign IMO

Like shite man. They won stuff fair play, but nothing that your average Sunday league male team couldnt... And? It's like in every sport where women wouldn't be able to compete with their male counterparts. Nobody in his right mind would come to the idea to devalue the success of female tennis players or athletics because they can't compete with men. Women football has made a huge progress in recent years. I've played with some better female footballers and now players from the German national team. Their technical ability is really good, they just lack the physics of men. Not their fault though. Wasn't the forum's 5-a-side team shown up by a midget female a few years back when we were playing the swedes?

I think it also depends, just a little bit mind you, on arsenal actually bidding for him Fair comment, it was just a brief new item on the radio, but the bookies don't always get it wrong. Any news on those gospels??
-
Meant to ask you this one at the piss-up last summer when you had all the grief with the door lock, but why the hell do you take it all the way to Sunderland to get fixed??
-
I think a lot of arses would be bared in Fenwick's window if we were to sign him. Suspect he'll have his pick of the top clubs in the CL personally.

Ever considered that some instructors may be in on it?
-
It's a valid point Fish I also think that the men's and women's teams should be run as almost two seperate entities. This action by Charlton makes it abundantly clear that the share the same money pot and that's wrong IMO. I understand they're both teams from the same 'club' but why should one (ironically who is successful) suffer as a direct consequence of the failure to succeed by the other?
-
People bring that up as though it'd be a deal-breaker. Shares are sellable you know....

David Dein All joking aside, I do wonder if Henry's decision to leave Arsenal is indicative that he knows that Dein will definitely NOT be returning to Arsenal - he's certainly mentioned that Dein leaving has affected his decision. Perhaps DD has already agreed to another role elsewhere? It was the first thing that came to mind when I heard Henry was fucking off. I can't see Dein going back to Arse unless they sell up to that Yank. I really do think i'd cack my pants if we got Dein. It would be the biggest signal of intent that Ashley could make. Given the 'pleasant surprises' () we've had since the last home game of the season, it'd be in-keeping if Dein ended up here

Seriously, I'd walk while you still can.....
