Absolute fucking horse-shit but sadly all to common these days. The problem is the jury have to pass judgement on what's put before them and they're not allowed to form any opinion on anything but the evidence put before them. Ergo, if the barrister doesn't do a good enough job (as was in the case I was sitting in on), it doesn't matter what you think, you can't find him guilty if the evidence isn't 100% No doubt the judge would have on more than one occassion told the jury "innocent until proven 100% guilty" and "if you have any doubt, there is no doubt, you must find him not guilty". Like I said, absolute bollocks, but unfortunately the people who do this shit tend to know how to beat the system. I'm not one to encourage vigilante attacks, but I hope he gets what's coming to him. Villa improved by 5 places, I think thats an improvement that alot of clubs would be encouraged by having previously finished 16th in the league. Aye, I think Craig is 'wide of the mark' with his Villa comments but I know what he means (I think), i.e. that we shouldn't get carried away. Pretty much the point I'm trying to make.... Just because you get a billionaire chairman, you don't become world-beaters over night. Chelsea were a much better side than us, Villa, West Ham, Citeh at the point of their take-over. I expect next season to be an improvement but it'll be the year after at least before I expect to see anything beyond 'improvement'.

I hope we don't get that channeled into thinking we're the 'next Chelsea' that we lose focus and end up being the 'next Villa'... Villa had a promising start to the season but by the end of it were in no better position than they were under Ellis and O'Leary.

Just reading that I note they say "Freddy Shepherd remains in his current role" it doesn't actually go so far as to say Freddy Shepherd will continue the role of chairman. Maybe it's just me but the wording of the statement makes it all sound like a very temporary thing.

As has been said, for all his failings, Shepherd has knowledge of running a football club, Ashley doesn't. Be stupid to get rid of all of them if he hasn't lined up his replacement already.
