  1. Aye, and I seem to remember there were massive protests the day the bulldozers moved in by the 'concrete conservationists'. The thing had been derelict for about 2 decades and was home to nothing but violent crime and smackheads.
  2. Why not? Veet is a hair removal cream, no? Men have hair on their face that they generally want rid of. No doubt that aroma of 'femfresh' will appeal to the ladies too!
  3. It's a mess but it's not the worst one I've seen. If anyone (MattM4 probably will have) ever saw the Tricorn Building in Portsmouth before it we demolished, you'll know what I mean. The 'Get Carter' building is postively attractive by comparison to this shit-hole:
  4. Nope, I think he's a genuine bloke who's passionate about the team he runs and has worked all his life in. Never knew until I read it somewhere that he started life as Bruce McLaren's mechanic when the team was initally setup.
  5. Don't agree actually HF, I think DC was about the car, the other two (Hill in particular) were vastly under-rated. The success of the Williams in 1991/92 was down, not to Mansell's driving, but the amount of test work that Hill carried out in that time. When he was promoted to the race seat in 1993, I wasn't in the least bit surprised that he succeeded as he knew the car backwards. Hill's downfall was his own greed. It lost him the Williams seat for 1997 and it also cost him a seat at McLaren for 1998. Button is one of the best drivers on the current grid but I think he has been unlucky in terms of poor management (both team and personal management) and in his own judgement. In hindsight Williams should have kept him on for 2001 and dumped Ralf, instead they loaned him out to Benetton who were in a transitional phase to Renault and the car was awful. When the transition was complete, Briatore dumped Jenson in favour of a driver he personally managed. Button kicked Villeneuve's arse in the first season at BAR and then was the nearest challenger to Schumacher's title the following year. Since then Honda got delusions of grandeur, bought the team, sacked Dave Richards and all the decent staff they had, employed that gormless twat Nick Fry who has never been seen for months (since Button won the race conincidentally) and replaced all the engineers with ones drafted in from Japan and then team has gone backwards. I'd be very surprised not to see Jenson move on at the end of this year - possibly to BMW, possibly to Ferrari.
  6. Wasn't a 'team' order, it was a pact that Hakkinen and Coulthard had made prior to the race in that should they be 1st and 2nd after the last pit stops, the one who got to the first corner first would win the race and the other would yield if he was ahead. DC honoured his promise. Ron Dennis knew absolutely nothing about it and told the press to take it up with the drivers rather than him. Different from the Ferrari carry on in Austria a few years later.
  7. So he's found his level at last. Harsh! He's a much better driver than he's being percieved IMO. If he was in a BMW Sauber at the moment, I think we'd be seeing a strong challenge to McLaren from him
  8. F1 is two way thing though, you need the car AND the driver to provide the results. There's no denying that Lewis has the best car on the grid and that has helped him in the results he's achieved, but he's still put in the performances and not put a wheel wrong all season. Anyone else hear Alan Brazil's gag on Talksport this morning? The one about 30 years ago, 21 white men chasing a black man would make other types of news
  9. He can go fuck himself tbh. There's rumours abound that he's been stomping around the factory at Woking like Veruca Salt with a serious case of PMT because the new kid isn't letting him win. He's got so used to a situation at Renault whereby Flav did everything to keep him happy and he's obviously expected the same sort of treatment at McLaren (particularly as Hamilton is a rookie). Not a chance, for over 25 years now Ron has not implemented any team orders and I don't expect him to start now. Fernando, make your driving do the talking, what's sad about all of it is he was far and away the most complete driver until Lewis came along. These two could 'race' together for years and bring the degree of spectacle back to the sport. It seems Alonso wants him to move to one side and let him win though and it doesn't work like that. The kid is awesome but the press are setting him up for a massive fall by almost suggesting he's bullet proof. He's not, and one day he is going to get it wrong. Just hope we don't have a massive post-mortem when it does. As an aside, how fucked off must Jenson be? That Honda is a complete pile of dogshit!
  10. Pud's probably the man to ask when it comes to zoom lenses tbh
  11. Rumour has it someone flogged a load of it to Alex as hair replacement cream Fuck off Potter. Touchy bastid!
  12. Rumour has it someone flogged a load of it to Alex as hair replacement cream
  13. Oo, I see what you've done there, sending up the Celtic fans by making the same kind of misguided point in your next paragraph. Clever humour, that. Regardless can you please tone it down a bit Stevie? I can't control what's said on another forum but then that's of no concern to me.
  14. Brought this to mind: Quite agree - I remember that move so well. Also reminded me of Mansell and Piquet at Silverstone in 1987. These pair are the most competitive team-mates since Senna and Prost at McLaren in the late 80s. I've made the connection a couple of times that Hamilton is an awesome McLaren driver who wears a predominately yellow helmet. We all know who that was previously.
  15. The request that Ashley will make to the stock exchange will be two-fold. Firstly it will be that the club is delisted from the stock exchange, secondly that trading ceases on shares in Newcastle United. So it'll not just be very hard to buy or sell shares, it'll be impossible. By the looks of this following announcement, the club expect this to occur on July 18th.
  16. He has all the makings of being World Drivers Champion this year without a shadow of a doubt. What's more, nobody is getting anywhere near him. Alonso put him under pressure with the attempted move but Lewis was supreme in closing the door. As they alluded to last week, he's nearly halfway through his first season and he's never known what it's like to finish a race and not climb onto the podium - phenomenal!
  17. I trim mine (i guess you're talking about pubic hair) but on the basis that I don't want the equivalent of a decaying haystack living in me boxers rather than the demands of a lass. Basic hygiene in my book, the stench must be fucking grim for you lot who don't trim when you've done any form of exercise and you remove your kegs tbh
  18. Unless you are going to grow a moustachio who cares? He'll be using his straightners on it though!
  19. In ASDA on wednesday there was a chinese fellow who was feverishly poking away at it before realising he wasn't pressing the touch screen. I've noticed the Chinese are particularly inept with the self-checkout till too. This wanker a couple of weeks ago was trying to scan individual apples with no barcodes on them. Me and the Tesco lass who had to come and help him were both just stood shaking our heads in utter disbelief. Thing that annoys me with the self-serve tills is other people's complete lack of sense. There's 4 of them in our Tesco, 2 for baskets only and two of them being full conveyor belt jobbies for a week's shopping. Needless to say, those two never get used as most people are shit-scared of them so generally if I've bought a trolley full of stuff, I head straight for one of those knowing that they'll be empty. Thing is, it seems to set everyone else off and they form a queue behind me. Because of the way it's set up, your shopping goes down the belt, you pay for it all and THEN you pack it. Only, you can guarantee that while you're still packing, the impatient retard behind you is already scanning his stuff and sending it down the belt mixing it all up with yours! Last time it happened, I unpacked my shopping at home and had a bottle of whisky in there - I know I never bought it....

    To all the Dads

Was woken at 5.30 this morning by Charlotte carrying a bag load of presents! Have quite a few beers to sink and a shedload of sweets from http://www.aquarterof.co.uk
  21. It's done - check their 'support' page.
  22. Tanzo?? Jesus, all the oldies are coming back - good to see!
  23. I'm not so sure what this report is going to achieve tbh. I think it'll affect and dent the reputations of some agents (especially those who've spat the dummies) but I don't think it's going to damage anyone else indicted. The transfers outline will be buried below so much red tape that nothing dodgy will be proved.
  24. Shower daily use shampoo & shower gel. Sometimes moisturise but not as much as I possibly should. Use a decent deoderant (not one of these masking body sprays), clean my teeth, an after-shave balm and some gooey shit in my hair. Dependant on how I'm feeling I might use aftershave too but that's about it. Oh but I do cut and file my nails - used to bite them something nasty and have made an effort to improve them.
  25. Would you credit it - first game of the season, Bolton (A)
