  1. Exactly, remember the horror of the news that Souness had been appointed. You mean this little lot? http://z7.invisionfree.com/toonchat/index.php?showtopic=210 http://z7.invisionfree.com/toonchat/index.php?showtopic=211 http://z7.invisionfree.com/toonchat/index.php?showtopic=214 You come across quite well in that Craig... Yep, but Leazes will have you believe that I wanted Souness all along.... Unless, of course, I editted my posts
  2. As I said in the other thread, for once I actually have faith that this has been a thought out move. Big Sam may not be the most ideal candidate but I reckon hes been the man Shepherd wanted which, for once doesnt smack of desperation. In addition, I reckon that Sammy boy wouldnt come without some knowledge that he was going to be backed with money moreso than he was at Bolton otherwise why leave for a job he (allegedly) turned down a year ago? Especially not to a club which is frankly moving in the opposite direction to Bolton. That's making the assumption that it IS Allardyce. 12 months ago, many of us were convinced Martin O'Neill was on his way but Fred changed his mind / stalled / fucked up. He's gonna look like a right tit if he appoints Allardyce only days after saying he's never spoken to him and has no interest in speaking to him. Mike Newell's out of a job isn't he? Perhaps Fred will want him to hand-hold Shearer for a while?

  4. Yep I agree with that one. The combination of Shearer and Roeder got us out of the shit at the end of 05/06. When Shearer left the club at the end of the season, Fred should have shook Roeder's hand and thanked him for all his help and offered him his position in the academy back. Instead he took the easy (and shit) option and offered him a full time contract. Can't blame Glenn for that one, it's Fred who has to answer.
  5. It's a sad state of affairs though when we only get euphoric when a manager gets the push. Yes, Roeder officially resigned but we all know he was asked to go. I have absolutely no confidence in Shepherd getting this right tbh. Many are putting 2 and 2 together and assuming Allardyce will get the job. The one thing we'll do well to remember is assumption is the mother of all fuck ups, particularly where that fat bastard is concerned!
  6. Anyone else got the all too familiar sense of foreboding? We've been here before in September 2004 and February 2006 expecting a much better man to be drafted in only to be ultimately disappointed. Roeder had to go, of that there is no doubt. But how many of you out there have faith in the man who has to appoint his replacement? I certainly don't.
  7. Bring it on then cos I didn't get it
  8. Actually Cath if you check back it started getting arsey with his first post and suggesting we were on the wind up. I genuinely wasn't and neither was Pud it seems hence why we replied the way we did. I even at one point said I was giving up on the thread because of the way J69 had turned it. But still he carried on. The thread was shite, some people got it, a lot didn't and we're "too fucking thick to work it out". Not hard to work out who started the arsey-ness!
  9. Nail on the head! Should never have got it on a permanent basis tbh
  10. Considering their track record, that's not the news we want to be hearing. Until we see a definite "Roeder sacked" with accompanying images appear on your screen it hasn't happened! Alright Neil? You recovered from last night then? Can you keep your private liaisons to PMs - there's a sacking to be discussed in here!
  11. Me too, even though it makes me a total fool. Usually I say I won't renew then do anyway at the last minute so I might as well just be honest from the outset here. Won't be buying the short or any other merchandise though. Freddy loves you. Wow! Allreetlike is a talking pasty Wasn't that Lee Harvey Oswald?
  12. Think it's just purely coincidence that it's Souness' birthday today?
  13. Tis a very good point.... *fingers crossed then*
  14. You'll need to get one of the financial experts to confirm but I'm pretty sure that by law, the stock exchange HAS to be informed before the press are.
  15. Big surprise on a Sunday, isn't it... A very good point Aren't they supposed to advise them before the press?
  16. There's nothing been released to the Stock Exchange yet. Until there is, I'm not 100% convinced...
  17. Talksport now confirming it too! Big Sam it is then
  18. They're now saying it is Roeder! Nowt confirmed yet though. Aye, was about to post the same thing, their quote was something along the lines of "unconfirmed reports coming from Tyneside that Newcastle and Glenn Roeder have parted company." They've got Graeme Courtney on the case - the way he's been speaking of the way the clubs been run lately, he'll be the last to be told! Pray to god it's true like!
  19. They're now saying it is Roeder! Nowt confirmed yet though.
  20. Just listening to final score on Talksport and they're saying they're getting a ridiculous amount of texts and emails about a 'Premiership Managerial Casualty' and are checking it out before they say anything more......
  21. You're not championing something that's originated from outside of the North East are you?
  22. Do you think I should invade this thread and give a lecture about Polish/Czech pronunciation of names? Please do!
  23. He didn't say, but he was implying that they're normally very good parents and that the kids are their lives. To quote him: "Kate is the most precious mother you can imagine, their kids really are their lives. I have no idea what the fuck they were doing leaving their kids alone in a room this is so out of character for them."
  24. Arsenal play Chelsea today.... Oh and Jonny, listen to Mr Keith will you?
