The bit in bold scares the fuck out of me....

I think you'll find the answer to that one in the final paragraph: But that doesn't make sense an account of Bernie's desire to globalise the sport and move it away from Europe. All he's succeeding in doing is creating a new GP for the far east but making it unsociable for the locals to watch. I think it's more driven by a desire for a night race than a European friendly TV hour otherwise the likes of Australia, Malaysia & Japan would be night races too.
-
Madness IMO. Why has Bernie making a point of night races? Too much danger IMO and the drivers are showing concern - not good.
-
I doubt there's many who could accomodate you on your own, let alone with two others....

Aye I remember when it changed, it was the summer we sold Gazza because the following season we got relegated and I remember hating the new badge. Counting back, I make that 1988.
-
The four I'm aware of are the city crest, the castle with the magpie in front of it, the NUFC ball and the current one. We've not had a change in 19 years, perhaps it'll be us next

Everyone was raising eyebrows back in August when West Ham signed them. We all knew they weren't owned by the club and that there was something not quite right but was anything said back then?? Was it fuck! Wigan (in particular) are shitting themselves at the thought of relegation and see this as an escape clause. If they'd been vociferous from when the players signed, then they'd get some sympathy but their drive in all this is to avoid relegation, NOT to correct a wrong-doing. Even so, I think at this point of the season, a fine was the only thing that could be considered. They could still be relegated regardless of no points deficit so that would have rendered the penalty ridiculous. The hearing and penalty should have been looked into either 6 months ago or after the season ended (as was the case with Swindon all those years ago). What we have now is a situation where the football is not doing the talking - not good! West Ham fucked up, they admitted to it and an independent commission (not the FA) decided that the fine was the way to go. If Wigan (and any other team) have an issue with that, they should raise a civil case against the commission but there's no way it'd have been resolved before the end of the season.
-
Check with them to see if they allow post-dated cheques. If you just try to be sneaky and not tell them and they don't notice, they'll probably try to cash it, it'll bounce because of the date issue and then they'll incur a penalty charge. NOT a good first impression....
-
If Wigan or Sheff Utd go down, it's because they've been shite, not because West Ham have played Tevez. Dave Whelan wouldn't be saying a word if Wigan had had a season like last year. I'm hoping they do sink, you never know, Leighton Baines may well end up at SJP!
-
So you managed to go through the whole season without her finding out? Fair play to you.... What did you tell her you were up to every other Saturday?
-
I think their current one looks better. I notice that they've dropped the reference to 1986 and gone back to their original founded date...

Fair enough thinking up stupid stuff like this, but actually posting it on t'internet??? Citeh are desperate then. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A22569762

When's the deadline?

Been a good day so far. Been told by the Technical Services Manager that there is a new position opening up and he's already identified the person he wants to fill it. When I asked if there was any point in my submitting my CV, he replied "yes, and I'll be re-writing it for you if it's not quite good enough!" Never been head-hunted before
-
And the first person to win all 4 (World Championship, Indy 500, Le Mans and the Indycar series)...
-
Very true. It just irks me that certain motorsport journalists rate him as a better driver than his old man simply because he won a world title. He's not a patch on him!
-
That's just fucking madness......
-
Aye, it's not the time to be apportioning blame at the moment - concentrate on finding her first, the parents are going through enough shit at the moment without every man and his dog criticising their parenting..... They know they've fucked up but as has been said before, if they'd come back from the restaurant and she'd been there, no one would have been critical of them. Very sad situation, I just hope that they do get a chance to put it right.
-
Yes but only because he was in the car that was a million miles ahead of the rest of the field. Same reason that Mansell won it in 92, Prost in 93 and Damon in 96 tbh.
-
It seems to be the only explanation, but it is still idiotic and unnecessary. He is proving he interferes with team and players affairs at a time we are seeking a new manager ffs! Precisely my concern. However unattractive a prospect we may have seemed to a potential decent manager, Shepherd has just made it a damned sight worse.

I'd rather have a chairman who was intelligent, professional, and knew how to run a football club. Well done for being the first to support the fat prick on this, and apparently being unable to see the difference between being a fan writing their opinions on a message board, and a chairman of a premiership club ranting to the press, and undermining his star player in the process.
-
Ye he has said what the majority on here have been saying. The difference is that if we were in his position, we'd be saying it in private and not making himself, and more importantly IMO, the club a laughing stock. Unprofessional? Understatement of all understatements tbh.
-
To be fair to him, if I was Michael Owen and the chairman of my team was publically taunting and taking the piss out of me like he is doing, I'd be out of there like a shot. Unlike Shearer, we're not 'the dream ticket' for Owen. He's being dealt shit that he doesn't need.
