1. It was about the time it was hacked IIRC. 62365 I think it was far earlier and I am pretty sure remembering Phil Craig saying that criticism of their website played a role too. For the website itself: Of course it's their website and they do and say whatever they want (and I made my fair share of contributions occasionally). It's just that I think it isn't as good as it used to be. 62373 Is it just merely coincidence that neither of them share your viewpoint on the Bellamy/Robert situations?

5. How can re-deer-m the situation then? 62352 Ouch! That's fucking awful Craig. 62356 elementry my deer Alex.
6. I can't believe anyone would be so childish as to snap their crayons about any negative comments posted about their own site and type reams of drivel about how "their" site is better. As if that would ever happen !!! 62340 To be fair, didn't Biffa and Niall cut their ties with the original Toontastic forum as they were unhappy with some comments made about their site... 62343 So they did, forgot about that. 62345 Not exactly They used to provide a link to the original forum but got fed up with people moaning at them when the forum was down. As it wasn't their forum and their inboxes were getting filled with questions asking when it'll be back up, they simply deleted the link. Nothing to do with anything that was written about them.
7. They're a couple of fans who have for the past 12 years, written self-opinionated views of supporting Newcastle United. Noboby pays to read what they right, they're not forced into reading it so why do people have a problem with it?? I tell you why, because they've voiced an opinion on a subject that individuals don't agree with - simple as! What can't be denied is that they continue to write what they think and not mask their opinions - for that I admire them. So they don't think that there should have been a minute's silence for Best? They're not exactly on their own on that one, are they? They own a site, they pay for the webspace and bandwidth, they can write what the hell they like IMO.

9. George Robledo? 61808 And his brother, Edward. Q. Name the two keepers that have scored goals in an English premier league match? 62247 George came first by a couple of months.... Q. Which captain lifted three different trophys in three successive seasons at Wembley? 62255 Did he? . I thought they signed together as part of the deal to get George. 62262 Not sure if they signed together but George made his debut first: Robledo, George| Debut 05/02/1949 Robledo, Ted | Debut: 31/12/1949 http://www.toonstats.homestead.com/Players.html

11. Yep, I agree - jumped to the point before I noticed who'd actually posted it hence my shite reply!
12. can someone get Tomm0 over here to join in?
13. Another quality comeback from the pro-Robert camp! 61990 Another one who can't keep up with the thread. I don't agree with some views of Footsoldier, but his posts are generally solid and he sticks with his opinions, justifies them with some reason anarl. I doubt anyone would describe Footsoldier as being in the pro-Robert camp, other than a dimwit, that is. 61997 But, but......my Dad's bigger than your Dad!
14. More chance of Sunderland getting more than 19 points this season tbh!
15. Peasepud has just creamed himself. 61988 I thought he'd been to see a shrink about that?

17. OTT has been replaced on here by the letters HTT. Still means the same thing though 61977 silent 'H'....

Agree. And I agree with Lawro for once as well in that I think the minute's applause is the way to go in future to honour someone who's passed. Renders all the booing by the cock-ends totally pointless and drowns the fuckers out. A small proportion of the Liverpool fans did the same apparently. As for Best deserving no sympathy because he did it to himself, I don't agree. Alcoholism IS a disease, it's not something that a person can control. He knew it was killing him but there was nothing he could do about it. What's more, he grew up at a time when football clubs (and management) did little to support people with an alcohol problem. (Tony Adams and Paul Merson have a lot to be thankful for for modern management). I lost my uncle to it 15 years ago. He knew it was killing him and he tried to give up, fact was he ended up making himself more ill by starving himself of the stuff. This nonsense about he was given a chance 3 years ago with a transplant is exactly that, the damage was done long before that and George's body got to a point where it depended on alcohol. He's suffered a long painful death, surely that's punishment enough? And besides, the adulations and celebrations have been about Best the footballer, NOT Best the alcoholic. If Shearer turns to the grog after he hangs up his boots and drinks himself to death, it doesn't change the fact that he's one of the most talented footballers to ever grace the black and white shirt does it? 61898 I'm sorry about your uncle, but that bit in bold is not true to be fair. It's also not true to suggest that there is nothing an alcoholic can do about his addiction, and that free will doesn't come into it. Best would still be alive and well today if he had stopped drinking after his transplant, he didn't need alcohol to live. One thing that confuses me is how he continued drinking if he was taking antabuse. From what I understand, you only have to take this tablet once a day and then it becomes almost impossible to drink. So he must have avoided taking the tablets, which requires a lot of premeditation. 61903 You can argue the bit about Best, but the bit about my Uncle is totally true actually Renton, I was there to fucking witness him going through the attempts of cold turkey and he deteriated rapidly when he did so.
19. I'd done an hour and a half's work at that point yer lazy shite! (somewhere near the truth, was I? )

21. I was talking to him yesterday about it, he was taking the piss 61846 A nice after-thought. Regardless it was totally tasteless.....
22. Gol's mention in another thread raises an interesting question. Who should replace Shearer as captain when the old man retires this summer? For me, there is only 3 players (possibly 4) in the current squad who I would contemplate and one of them stands out head and shoulders above the rest: Shay Given While I think he'd be a good choice for Captain, I've always been against the idea of a goalkeeper as the team captain as he can't offer much influence past his back four. On top of that, a goalkeeper should always 'captain' his back four anyway and leave the rest of the team to the actual captain. Michael Owen He may be vice-captain for England but for me he's simply not commanding enough to be considered the captain. I think any decision to install him as Shearer's successor would be a vain attempt to ensure that he stayed on at the club. It would be totally patronising IMO. Scott Parker The natural choice IMO, solid & commanding and the potential to be a true leader. He has youth on his side so could cement the role for years to come in a similar way to how Roy Keane did at Manchester United. Steven Taylor Perhaps sometime in the future but far too young and inexperienced at the moment IMO.
23. I don't think he was taking the piss. I think that's just a ploy to make it look like the people who don't like the comment are making a mountain out of a molehill. If nobody complained, do you think he'd have said he was taking the piss? We can all have a laugh on here, but the notion of a human being (be it whoever) being glassed in the face is simply not funny!
24. Agreed - and whoever did it, it was done in Newcastle and tarnishes the whole city. Wankers, whoever they were...
25. Was absolutely stunned when I got up on Saturday morning and heard this. Anyone interesting in the WRC knew he was ill (had a brain tumour which was only identified after he blacked-out at the wheel on the way to the 2003 Rally of Wales) but I presumed that the operation had been a success and that he was in remission. Seems he was in a coma this past week, not having a pop at the other sporting hero who died the same day but if the press had not gone completely overboard with Best, we may have heard before now. RIP Richard, a truly awesome driver and England's only World Rally Champion (* aged 34 apparently)
