I think if Dyer came back, put in a few good early performances within 3 matches, all would be forgotten
-
Reckon we're good to go for the Bolton game. Would like to think that Sam could bring in a couple of more players - possibly a right back and an attacking CM although we've got Dyer back now and Smith can operate there also. Personally think we'll be pushing the top 6 provided injuries dont get the better of us again. One player would have to prioritise and say a RB

how would everyone set the side up with the current batch of players?

Home games i would expect us to play 4-3-3 as has previously been mentioned by BS (taking current injuries into account) Given Solano Roz Cacapa Enrique Dyer Geremi Butt Smith Viduka Martins -
Top Three: Man U Chelsea Liverpool Bottom Three: Sunderland Wigan Derby Best Buy: Mark Viduka One to Watch: Ryan Babel Carling Cup: Liverpool FA Cup: Chelsea Champions League: Man Utd UEFA Cup: Fallout from Champions League

Nice soundbites. Think he's the kind of guy who just wants to play football and is happy that he's been given a chance to do that.

Pointless slagging match, its a forum ffs. Baggio, do you have a season ticket for Manyoo to judge Smith over his time there or did you watch Smith on Playercam every time they were on telly?

Anyone got the feeling we're going to be good this season?
Chaser replied to Row Z's topic in Newcastle Forum
Looking at the way in which other clubs have strengthened I expect to see the following above us. Man Utd Chelsea Liverpool Arsenal Spurs Portsmouth may also be pushing highly as will Blackburn. Dont know what Bolton will do this season but theyve bought 11 players. This could see us anywhere between 6th & 9th really. -
I though Geremi was in to play the holding role?
-
Owen and injury seems to go hand in hand. Not very optimistic in seeing him play most games this season, despite BS efforts to rid us of injuries.
-
Is Deco still rumoured? Has Enrique signing been confirmed by us yet?
-
AFAIK Enrique hasnt been confirmed by our club yet???
-
Surely Man Utd are back in the same position that WHU were? I think I heard somewhere that the difference is that Man Utd now have the loan for 2 years and it cannot be cancelled by any other party whereas WHU didnt have that in place and he could be taken at any time?
-
Think theres quite a few grafters in the side now. The likes of Smith,Barton,Butt,Taylor of those we know will put some effort into the game. If they can bring the workrate up of some of the other players then it can only be a good thing. It'll be interesting to see where BS plays him and if this new team can work together.
-
Its nothing short of a disgrace. Imagine if we were in the Blades position, this board would go into meltdown. Likewise Leeds must also feel unfairly done to in comparison with WHU paltry punishment. Sadly, I can only think that WHU's reputation & position geographically had an influence over little Sheffield United

Reckon West Ham will still pay it, as they'll see him as a replacement for Tevez Plus the 2 million theyve just got for Tevez could be spent on the extra we want from Dyer. After all, i dont remember them ever buying him???

Breaking News: Leeds to start next season -15 Points
Chaser replied to Jimbo's topic in Newcastle Forum
Agree with Mowens sentiments there, feel for the fans and feel for the club. I dont like Bates/Wise/Poyet but they arent Leeds, the fans are - theyre just there temporarily (for Leeds fans the shorter time the better). What I cant understand is why someone with megabucks (i.e another thaksin/ashley) hasnt decided to put money into Leeds to clear the debt and get them on a level footing. Theyre a massive club with big support, a big stadium (which should never have been allowed to be sold). I'd love to see Leeds back in the Premiership, much rather them than some of the London/Birmingham clubs -
"This is the financial opportunity of my life" Sounds like he really fancies us then
-
Theyve bought 8 players - quite few other teams in prem also bought that amount.. Seems to be a lot more signings this season than previous?
-
City are gonna have a complete new team at this rate. Whats the chances of them struggling again?
-
He'll not get a prison sentence - likely just some kind of anger management order.
-
Think Gudjohnsen would be a good replacement for Dyer, he's quick, good in the air, can score a goal and can play in that support role behind a front 2 in a 4-3-3 formation which is what BS looks to be going for in the home games at least. Would be an excellent addition and if he's available, should be swiping him from under the nose of West Ham who will have a silly sized squad the way theyre buying players at the moment...
-
Are West Ham linked with every player this summer? Seriously, they have come from nowhere to becoming a team I really hate. Couldnt stand them last season and theyre just getting worse by buying everything in the transfer market. If only Sheff Utd had stayed up...
-
£5m for Dyer is good business for West Ham IMO, especially when you consider that Kieron Richardson is allegedly worth that and Rossi was sold for £6.7m. Im not so worried about getting rid of Dyer but more concerned with the lack of replacements for all these players leaving. Paper thin squad is now micron thin

£6.7m according to the Beeb.
