1. Does anyone look at Babayaro and think that he doesnt fit in at Newcastle? I still cant see him as a Newcastle player despite being with us over a year now.
2. Chaser

Hughes

we lost genuine passion for the club when we sold Hughes, if nothing more he was a great squad player because of his versatility.
3. Loving this thread, bashing the backslappers of N-O. Theyve all been working overtime in homework class to produce these flyers/banners
4. he'll be released without charge.... No point in having bellamy if Owen stays however i cant see the latter hanging about long.
5. Its very early days and we've played only 2 games, however we've managed to score 4 goals during those 2 games and we've looked to be creating chances for those up front, something which we havent seen at our place for quite some time. Neither Roeder or Shearer have the necessary coaching badges, Tommy Craig does. What if Roeder and Shearer continued this run of form and kept on getting good results at home and away. It doesnt take a lot to put good players in their right positions and let them play, something which Souness couldnt understand. Would the Roeder/Shearer partnership continue? Look at the following Kneejerk Partnership Both have denied that they want the job - Shearer has said it has come too early, while Roeder has said that he doesnt want the stress levels associated with it. By sharing the role, with Shearer taking a coaching role and Roeder the man management side of things, it shares the pressure out so that both are accountable rather than just one of them. Roeder appears to be the calmer of the two, saying the right things to the press, looking to be addressing the concerns of the players and admitting that there are areas to be worked upon. Shearer on the other hand is the coach who leads by example, and can motivate the team where it is needed. Qualifications Neither have the necessary qualifications however Tony Craig has his Pro-Licence. If Craig is installed as one of the head coaches, does this not allow the partnership to continue while they work towards their pro-licences? Big Appointment = Trophies?? We've previously been a club who has looked to taking on big names as managers - iconic players who have gone into management after their playing careers have finished. With this, big wages and big egos have arrived. We've seen that with Dalglish, Gullit and Souness. Robson was a proven winner on a managerial level so cannot be regarded in this same group. Is it necessary that we have to appoint a big name to manage this club? Stability and continuity count for a lot in football and the best teams (aside from moneybags Chelsea) have had managers installed for several years. Roeder and Shearer already work within the club so the players know who they are, they know who the players are and we may not see the clearouts we have seen previously when we have changed managers. Like i said its early days, but if this does continue, can Freddy overlook it? There have been suggestions from others on here that by coming out publicly and saying they dont want the role of manager, both are taking pressure off themselves. Results are everything and the last 2 games have shown promise in workrate, commitment and flair.
6. I think Macdonald talks a lot of Sh1te to be honest. He's very uninformed for a pundit and doesnt see that much of the team. I'd say Gatesy was the best of the three. Slaven is too anti-Newcastle to be anything decent
7. amazing that as soon as souness goes, the injury list begins to clear up.
8. With Bobby all the way on that one - he's right to have a dig because he had done a magnificent job with us and its all been taken apart by Souness. I believe we would have achieved Euro qualification last season if Bobby had still been in charge.
9. that proves that he's better internationally Souness for England!
10. If Emre goes, we should get the cash back we paid for him, and should at least get the money we paid for Owen if he decides enough is enough. If Luque is sold then i fear we'll lose on him, if not struggle to sell him like Viana.
11. 6 months on and sentiments havent really changed. I think there was a blip when we went on a signing spree of owen/solano/clark etc. I was hoping id be proven wrong but it seems to be panning out as i predicted
12. i dont remember him being as bad when he first came as he is now. I seem to remember him having the pace to clear things up, make some well timed tackles etc however he seems to have got a LOT worse. I know he's had family problems but i thought he was over those
13. i cant believe he's got international experience when we consider our young lads Taylor and Ramage better than him
14. Embarrassing tbh Very dodgy that this guy was sold to us for £8million - he's not worth 800k with the performances he's putting in of late.
15. sound good from what ive heard, will have to get the album for a proper listen Boyo what would you prefer to listen to ??
16. we're the laughing stock of the country. We've had Keegan and Bobby stabilise the ship however we cant afford to keep getting it wrong in between. If we sack Souness now, then i cant see us having many options if any at all to replace him. I think Shepherd says too much to the media and other managers can see that. Boro are in worse position than us yet i dont hear Gibbo using the Gazzette to mouth off about McClaren. Its a very sorry position we are in and i dont see it getting any better in the short term. But we cant just sack the manager then think about what we're going to do afterwards. The last time we did that, we ended up with Souness. The caretaker situation of Glen Roeder fills me with dread.
17. Its funny how a lot of people have forgotten about Iain Dowie. Last year, he was one of the names most people were putting about when souey was under pressure last season. He's still done a hell of a job at palace despite them being back in the Championship. Jewell seems to have struck it lucky with Wigan but didnt do so well with Bradford. Allardyce plays long ball football - i cant see many people being too happy with that style of play up here. Keegan - did it with us first time round but then had faltering success with Fulham, Citeh and England. His return would stain his status if he came back as we'd never be as good 2nd time around. Graham - too long out of the game. Boring Boring Arsenal.
18. lack of luck cant be what has decimated our squad - its got to be the training methods which are contributing to the problem
19. staggering to think the amount of money we spent in pre season only to be served up a load of injuries and a big dollop of tripe on the pitch. i dont think FF can swallow his pride and admit he was wrong.
20. Well when Chris Turner left, pools were flying in the 3rd division. Bringing a new manager in could have upset the cart, however Newell came in and maintained the run getting them promotion. There are a lot of stories surrounding his behaviour whilst at the club but its all hearsay. No-one at the club has ever come out to say what actually happened.
21. potential banana skin but we should get through
22. Aye id probably agree that FS might have this in mind if he gives Souey the boot. The arguments for and against him have already been discussed, however i wouldnt be surprised if Shearer had a word with Mike Newell and had a ' 'arry & Jim' kind of partnership. Newell has done a good job with all the clubs he's been at. I was impressed with him when he managed Hartlepool and he's gone on from there to be a success with Luton.
23. i like the guy, arrogant, full of himself, but he's prepared to be no-ones monkey and doesnt mind care about being controversial. Fair play to him
24. I'd hang myself from the Tyne Bridge if that happened. 74259 If Roeder takes charge, we'll do a West Ham when he took them over - straight down into Div 1 and then we will be screwed 74293 Wasn't it Trevor Brooking the manager that got West Ham relegated ? 74294 Correct. Also, Roeder led West Ham to 7th in his first season IIRC. 74295 Roeder did most of the damage in that 2nd season tho to which Brooking stepped in but couldnt do enough.
