  1. Owen and injury seems to go hand in hand. Not very optimistic in seeing him play most games this season, despite BS efforts to rid us of injuries.
  2. Is Deco still rumoured? Has Enrique signing been confirmed by us yet?
  3. AFAIK Enrique hasnt been confirmed by our club yet???
  4. Surely Man Utd are back in the same position that WHU were? I think I heard somewhere that the difference is that Man Utd now have the loan for 2 years and it cannot be cancelled by any other party whereas WHU didnt have that in place and he could be taken at any time?
  5. Think theres quite a few grafters in the side now. The likes of Smith,Barton,Butt,Taylor of those we know will put some effort into the game. If they can bring the workrate up of some of the other players then it can only be a good thing. It'll be interesting to see where BS plays him and if this new team can work together.
  6. Its nothing short of a disgrace. Imagine if we were in the Blades position, this board would go into meltdown. Likewise Leeds must also feel unfairly done to in comparison with WHU paltry punishment. Sadly, I can only think that WHU's reputation & position geographically had an influence over little Sheffield United
  7. Reckon West Ham will still pay it, as they'll see him as a replacement for Tevez Plus the 2 million theyve just got for Tevez could be spent on the extra we want from Dyer. After all, i dont remember them ever buying him???
  8. Agree with Mowens sentiments there, feel for the fans and feel for the club. I dont like Bates/Wise/Poyet but they arent Leeds, the fans are - theyre just there temporarily (for Leeds fans the shorter time the better). What I cant understand is why someone with megabucks (i.e another thaksin/ashley) hasnt decided to put money into Leeds to clear the debt and get them on a level footing. Theyre a massive club with big support, a big stadium (which should never have been allowed to be sold). I'd love to see Leeds back in the Premiership, much rather them than some of the London/Birmingham clubs
  9. "This is the financial opportunity of my life" Sounds like he really fancies us then

    Man City

Theyve bought 8 players - quite few other teams in prem also bought that amount.. Seems to be a lot more signings this season than previous?
  11. City are gonna have a complete new team at this rate. Whats the chances of them struggling again?
  12. He'll not get a prison sentence - likely just some kind of anger management order.
  13. Think Gudjohnsen would be a good replacement for Dyer, he's quick, good in the air, can score a goal and can play in that support role behind a front 2 in a 4-3-3 formation which is what BS looks to be going for in the home games at least. Would be an excellent addition and if he's available, should be swiping him from under the nose of West Ham who will have a silly sized squad the way theyre buying players at the moment...
  14. Are West Ham linked with every player this summer? Seriously, they have come from nowhere to becoming a team I really hate. Couldnt stand them last season and theyre just getting worse by buying everything in the transfer market. If only Sheff Utd had stayed up...
  15. £5m for Dyer is good business for West Ham IMO, especially when you consider that Kieron Richardson is allegedly worth that and Rossi was sold for £6.7m. Im not so worried about getting rid of Dyer but more concerned with the lack of replacements for all these players leaving. Paper thin squad is now micron thin
  16. No quotes, no sources and no detailed information. Pure speculative Journalism. Wont buy into it until the bandwagon starts rolling out of Tyneside
  17. I wouldnt have thought Gudjohnssen would cost much more than £6m and he's a better player IMO. Dyer has caused the fans to get on his back by engineering a move away from the club once his injuries look to be finally behind him. We've supported him for years paying god knows what to get the right treatment for him. Now that looks sorted, he's away back down south. Still dont condone the behaviour of those mindless individuals who think that "Support" means to go and attack his private life. Should be hunted down and locked up.
  18. 2 totally different players providing different options. Ive never been a fan of Dyer the man, however as a player I like his pace and his ability to change the face of play with his pace. In the last year, he appears to be more relaxed in front of goal also. Alan Smith on the other hand - I'm a fan of the man (although I was disappointed when his showed his disloyalty by leaving his boyhood club to join their biggest rivals) however think that his game has suffered since he went to Old Trafford. For me, Smith is all about passion and the battle in the game, much like Barton however he doesnt score enough goals to be a centre forward and for me doesnt look good enough at Centre Mid. Has only once got into double figures (at Leeds) in the Prem which is a feat even Shola has surpassed. For me, if we're selling Dyer, we should be getting a player like Gamst Pedersen. It seems that just because we're running out of time, we now start to be hitting the button a bit and looking at transfers which we werent considering a month ago.
  19. Smith isnt a midfielder. If any, his better position is as a support striker. Might work well with Owen. Still not a priority though
  20. Obviously realises hes in the last chance saloon here. Hopefully his actions will speak louder than his words and he'll actually be of use this season. Gets my support to see if he can make the most of that chance..
  21. Is Bridge definitely off the radar?
  22. The fact of the matter is that with our current squad we are not going to acheive a finish to get into Europe. To take this club onto the next level, that has to be the aim as better players come with European qualification. We need the players who will get us there, not world class but just decent players.
  23. BS has said he needs to really push himself through the pain barrier this season to be fit for the premier league, which leads me to summise that he was well off fitness in previous seasons.
  24. Spurs must have one of the biggest squads in the league. Surely they'll struggle to keep all their stars happy.
