  1. And that as far as i can work out is the sole job he performs to "earn" his money at the club, certainly isn't wasting anytime with coaching and improving players or any nonsense like that!
  2. Like nothing around at the time, must have been something to see when they first appeared on the scene!!! And especially that part of their sound came from Iommi chopping the ends of his fingers just before they launched themselves. I enjoyed the programme but obviously only having an hour there was alot missed out or glossed over that they could have made more of that i'd have liked to see. I thought they would have mentioned the 3 chord note thing from the track Black Sabbath which was supposedly banned for centuries by the church for being evil. Iommi was right - it does make the hair stand up. I thought it was sly to count Led Zep as "stadium" to feature next week instead of including them as a "founder of metal". Oh and on topic - so not Paul Scholes then? yeah you are right but then I trust they will be given there full dues in the next program. It was 'the story of metal' and the link from Black Sabbath is more obvious. I would have been more upset is they were mentioned briefly in this program tbh. They've given themselves a problem by trying to cover the whole of heavy metal from its beginnings with the likes of Sabbath through to the modern day in 1 hour. So i agree it was better to go with Sabbath and Deep Purple here and save Led Zeppelin for another day as to mention them briefly would have been shite considering how important they are.
  3. Gay singer from Saxon. Judas Priest surely? Oh yeah! Ooops!! In my haste to get the gag out, I made a fundamental metallic error. *hangs head* Rob Halford isn't it? The singer is yes, not the new mackem player, hope he plays football like Rob Halford would!
  4. Thats an advantage with Big Sam, his ability to get the very best out of older players, some of who'm people thought were past it.
  5. I suppose there was that when i started. However i had a spell between uni and starting work where i had fuck all to do and so i went through all my MP3's and corrected all the info on each of them to what i wanted, for genre, album, artist, title and the like. Did take a while like!

  7. And i knew that your post would be about knowing i would have him for it!
  8. I'm the same, found Itunes perfect for what i need, and how i like my music sorted, can't see how it would cause anyone any problems. And the Ipod itself has been fine for years, just the odd temperamental moment in recent times, but nothing serious and still going strong. Could do with havign to charge it up less and it lasting longer, but the newer ones are better for that.
  9. What gave it away? The man mocks himself without realising.. if it wasn't so sad it'd be fucking hilarious. Yes, you know its old Anal as soon as words like me, mine, my, or I appear!
  10. Quite a few people have said when you hear/read interviews with him he often comes across well and even intelligent then he goes and does something mental. Definitely a mixed bag!
  11. The words 'Craig' and 'Bellamy' guarentee a minimum of 4 pages!
  12. How exactly did he not fit in at Celtic or Blackburn. Celtic didnt have the money to sign him and he was a success at Blackburn? That's it, he was always using Celtic as a short term solution to either allow him back here (if Souness got sacked as he should have) or waiting for another prem club to sign him. Celtic would have loved him to stay. And Blackburn wanted him despertaely to stay but the clause they'd agreed to allowed him to leave for a bigger and better club.
  13. I said a while back i thought at best we'd shift only 1 of Baba and Carr before January because Big Sam can't just dump the entire squad in one go and of the two he was likely to prefer Carr. Come January and hopefully we'll be goign well, Ashley may release some more cash and Sam can clear out a bit more of the rubbish and bring in another 2-3 players. I'd piss myself laughing if the mackems came and bought Carr off us, but i can't see Keane rating him unfortunately!
  14. Maybe but he's too old for Wenger, he likes them young, I don't think Fergie or Rafa would be interested, however I don't think Jose would dismiss him as a potential signing as easy as the other two. After all he's proven world class, and 30 - Sheva/Ballack, and the way Chelsea play often with the 4 3 3 he would suit the system. As long as they aren't involved we'd have a good chance, he'd likely choose us over Spurs, Everton? Villa? nah, and he's said in the past he wants to play in this league. Sounds libellous to me
  15. The main reason Bellamy's fee is way above what we got is because he was sold for a joke price in the first place thanks to dickheads Souness and Fat Fred telling the whole world he was to blame for everything wrong at NUFC, wasn't that good, didn't score enough and that they were desperate to get rid of him. But for those two cretins he could have gone for £9-10m in the first place. I wouldn't want to pay £9m for him now because there is an injury risk, though he seems to be better in recent times with that, and there is the baggage that comes with him. But i would be happy to see him back if we lost one of our strikers.
  16. But other than that, our defence isn't too bad! I agree though, definitely need 4 defenders through the door to add some class, experience and solidity at the back.
  17. He'll be fine don't worry. If we go on to do well and heaven forbid win something, he'll say 100% of the credit is due to Fat Fred for selling to Ashley and getting Big Sam! Though in all fairness, whatever his reasons were, i'll give Fred a bit of credit for selling quickly and for finally IMO making a good choice of manager.
  18. He's right it is a club that's had problems, and having that twat as manager was still the biggest one ever! You won't hear Roeder coming out with this kind of stuff. Souness had enough of a squad and enough money to spend to have done very well in the league, playing decent football, but he's shite so he didn't. And i can assure him that we "didn't enjoy his time up here" either!
  19. Fucking hell. Worst bit of contract negotiating in the world. Ever. What sort of cretinous, sweaty oaf allows a clause like that? I'd be proper pissed off about this if a billionaire and super-organised manager hadn't taken over to soften the blow. It is an absolutely ludicrous deal that Fat Fred negotiated, just totally unacceptable and the kind of thing we will be seeing the end of.
  20. They shouldn't be getting paid a penny in this day and age for internationals, considering what they earn. However they are and they didn't have to do this at all, so its a nice gesture from them all.
  21. Its all happened so quickly from him appearing out of nowhere to practically owning the club. Throw in how quickly we acted to get Big Sam and how quickly we have started getting players in and i still can't believe this is NUFC i am reading about!!!
  22. By the end of nexts eason Woodgate will realise he made a big mistake and will likely be looking to move elsewhere, providing he's had a relatively injury free season. And its hilarious that Slaven is gutted as he's a sad, bitter little man where NUFC are concerned, just like the smogs he represents!
  23. Its certainly a fact to consider, in getting the very best players. But i do think one year out of the UEFA at this time is in a way a good thing. We will have less fixtures to play than the teams we will be competing with like Spurs, so better rested players and less risk of injury and fatige. And it will allow Big Sam to concentrate fully on the league place, with hopefully a domestic cup run. Our best year with Bobby was when we weren't in europe and finished 3rd, having got knocked out the intertoto when Bobby played my beloved 3-5-2 formation, which never fails!
