From a middle class detroit suburb... So he's a faker?
-
Why is he wearing a dressing gown? Fucking hell, when he started I thought he was going to do the Funky Chicken.

Class doesn't change no matter what era it may be. Standards just drop. But you like Arcade Fire? One of the most original bands out there nowadays. Win Butler may not be a fantastic singer but atleast he's writing brilliant music, unlike your mates Will or Chris. THEY ARE GOING TO BE ORIGINAL BECAUSE OTHER BANDS WOULDN'T HAVE THE BALLS TO RELEASE SUCH TRIPE Almost every music reviewer in the land disagrees with that And almost every music reviewer in the land would disagree with them being better than Coldplay Lets compare the bands two biggest selling albums http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Rush_of_Blood_to_the_Head http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Funeral_(album) Good by Mr. Paltrow, but not good enough

Probably not imo. But then, they're signed to an independent label with none of the financial/advertising clout that Coldplay's major label has. Arcade Fire are one of the highest selling independent acts going. Not surprised that nobody snapped them up The record companies could sell the general public fucking anything. Easy as. So talent isn't needed for longevity in the music industry? No. Spice Girls being a brilliant example. 5 average looking women who can't sing become the biggest thing on the planet on the back of savvy marketing. And you're suggesting they didn't decline? What about Gareth Gates, Fat rick waller etc etc? Why did the media tell people to like them and why did they nosedive? Their decline was because they turned into a bunch of egotistical cows. They're still a huge name in the music industry, much bigger that Codplay, even if they do only perform once in a blue moon nowdays. What about the winner of the competition the above two you mentioned entered? Will Young is still sells records and to me he's a passable singer whocan't write his own tunes. Will Young is an immensely talented singer. The thing is, people don't care who writes the music if it sounds good. Immensely talented singer? Christ, Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra would be turning in their graves to hear that.

Coldplay played with Oasis, are touring with the Manics and once followed U2 onto the stage so therefore Coldplay have sold more. Yeah, but that's all negated by the fact Coldplay are shit, Oasis are painfully average, the Manics haven't released anything good in years and Bono is a twat. AF > All
-
If we're making the rules up then fuck it. Arcade Fire are the biggest band in the world. How? Thye've played on stage with Bowie since 2000 therefore his 120 million record sales count towards AF's. Simple. Like to see you disprove that Thompers
-
Fuck moving the goalposts, BT is dismantling them and taking them halfway across the fucking world
-
To be fair Laz, the only music you like plays in the background of porn

So the 90s and 00s U2 didn't either then? U2 have sold a shit load of records in America and I hasten to refer to the Sold out Arena tour with support from some of the UK's biggest bands. Look at NJS's list again. Jesus.Wept. Well you're the only one with posting 'clicky clicky's aren't you. I 'clickied' it and found that it suggests that U2 are living on 80s success in America? Not really like. How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb sold 3 million & All that you cant leave behind sold 4 million. But selling that many isn't "breaking america" according to you and your clicky clicky? They had already broken America. I was referring to the fact that they aren't living on their 80's success. Avril Lavinge has sold as much as coldplay in less time by the way She a band too now? If you divide albums sold by band member and work out an average sale per man, then Dr Dre is way bigger than U2 have ever been!!! Wowowowowow She's in a band. Since when has it been sale by band member? The Polyphonic spree must have sold like 5 records Aren't you just a little embarrassed now? Since when have we been comparing bands to indivicual artists? Since they shared the same music chart.

What even 30s+? Having been to an Arcade Fire gig I can verify that it was the most electic mix of fans i've ever seen - From the very young and the surprisingly old.

Fuck me they're one of the worst bands in professional music. Don't ever mention them in a Coldplay thread again. Gerld Indeed. I once downloaded an album of theirs after the reviews they were getting, and promptly decided that I couldn't justify them taking up 100mb of a 320gb hard drive that was 75% free and deleted the tracks 1 by 1 in disgust. Fucking terrible. This post just proves you're either a really bad WUM or a complete knacker And what does it say about you coming on here trying to convince us that a band that aren't even half as big as Coldplay in the world are bigger I bet if you asked randomers in the street, MORE than 50% would tell you they didn't know who Arcade Fire were. I can't remember claiming that Arcade Fire were bigger, just better. Now that is a fact

I can't find the stats but apparently they sold 1.2 Million on the first day. BUT OMGZ THE CERLDPLAY WILL SELZ MOREZ!!!1!1!!1
-
Hasn't In Rainbows sold an obscene amount already based on download sales alone? I'd really like to take Thompers up on this "Coldplay to have the biggest selling album of the year" bet, I really would Anyway, only a tit would argue that popularity is indicative of real class. Coldplay aren't a patch on Arcade Fire but have no doubt sold more albums than them.

Because acting like a petulant little twat when on the pitch is good, no?

Almost got lynched by some tart on N-O yesterday for suggesting Emre wasn't our best midfielder

I'd much rather see how this summer pans out rather than listening to the rags. We've got one newspaper saying we're going to spend x amount on a player and another saying we've got to restructure. We were, aye. I think we were top for 12/18 months because of the shite we were hammering in the UEFA Cup
