Keegan & Co head for France as Newcastle look to bring in striker Gomis
Ketsbaia replied to Jimbo's topic in Newcastle Forum
Weren't we chasing some young PSG defender too? -
Just read through the thread and came across this... The only people who say that about buckets are those who can't handle their weed.

On the contrary, I don't think we had a terrible transfer window last summer. As much as Allardyce was useless he did bring in a number of decent players in Beye, Faye, Enrique, Viduka and recently even Barton has been performing recently (Geremi, despite his failings, has also chipped in with a few assists). Unfortunately it was Keegan who has got a lot of the players to reach their potential, something Allardyce couldn't do. sorry, but the lowest points total and the acute lack of goals until Keegan put together Viduka, Martins and Shepherds trophy signing, tells the story. And ironically, it was the trophy signings goals that probably kept us up. Fancy that eh. I still don't see how you can justify having a go at the board based on the fact that we've got our lowest ever points tally when the exact same thing happened under the Shepherd regime. ........ eerrr.........the Halls and Shepherd, unless you are another person who thinks the majority shareholder allows someone else to appoint the managers and run the club himself. Wish I had a quid for all the fucknuts I've had to point that out to I am, simply because Freddy complained several times about SJH's lack of input or cash. SJH had been touting his shares around for years prior to Ashley snapping them up. Who's the fucknut now? Well, actually, Sir John, for allowing someone else to manage his multi million pound business completely without any input. If you really believe that. And, if you DO believe it .............. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ted/6284653.stm Doesn't really say "Hands on majority shareholder" to me, like. Unless you're trying to claim those comments were some sort of ruse from Fat Fred

Laughable. Smith aye but Enrique? Nee way.

Goalkeepers Shay Given - Became more and more inconsistant as the year went on and began playing more infrequently as niggling injuries set in. Is beginning to look less like the invincible Irishman we all knew and loved a few years ago. It's too early to write him off yet though (6/10) Steve Harper - Done more than enough to start next season as our firm number one. He's been more than dependable, he's been great. Will he ever get that England call up he deserves or it it too late now? Who knows. (8) Tim Krul - I've heard little of the lad since the last post (-) Fraser Forster - See above (-) Defenders Stephen Carr - Bye, bye you below average midget. You'll not be missed (3) Habib Beye - Player of the season by a country mile. Great going forward and solid at the back he's one of the few good things to come from the Allardyce era. A consumate professional who I wish was five or six years younger. (9) Peter Ramage - See Carr, but replace midget with "lanky streak of jism" (3) David Edgar - Has came in and did a job when needed. Certainly not amazing and probably wont make the grade but he's a squad player if nothing else. (5) Steven Taylor - Over the past few games the venom i've felt the need to direct at him as dissipated somewhat as he's shown flashes of the Stevie T of old but he still has a long way to go. Firstly, he needs to be more consistant. Secondly, he needs to act like a professional both on the pitch when it comes to rolling around after committing a handball and off it with this contract lark (5) David Rozehnal - The fact Lazio wanted nothing to do with him after his first game or two tells his own story. I do think he could've been a half decent player on the basis of his early performances but his head has went. (3) Cacapa - Has been inconsistant with the occasional glimpse of class about him. I do think he can stay as a squad player and try and work his way back into the side once he recovers from his injury troubles but i'd be dissapointed if we didn't sign a better centre back this summer. (5) Abdoulaye Faye - Been solid throughout the season. The prospect of both him and Woodgate had my mouth watering for all of the 15 minutes we were in for him. I'd keep him for certain, but like Beye I wish he was younger. (8) Jose Enrique - The lads head was down, he was either on the bench of in the stands. He looked like £6 million wasted. Keegan comes in and does what he does. He puts a hand on his shoulder, puts faith in him and gives him a chance. Enrique pays him back by performing well, if not amazingly. I think he'll have a great year next season once he gets a full summer under his belt and his age means he can only really get better. (7) Midfielders James Milner - Like I said earlier, he's committed to the cause but he's certainly not the answer long term to our right side. Now we're playing 433 i'd like to see us move him into the middle as his long range shooting is much more effective than the bog standard stepover/cross act he pulls when out on the wing (6) Geremi - Fat Sam's wet dream. He looks as if he does little but the stats seem to show him consistantly being our most accurate passer. He's did better since Keegan came in but I wouldn't stick with him next year. (6) Emre - Get rid. He's done nothing wrong per se but I just can't fine a role for him in our squad anymore (4) Joey Barton - Another player that has upped their game significantly since Keegan came in. Had one or two games where he looed shit, one or two where he looked average, one or two where he looked great....rinse and repeat, although the shit games are becoming less. (6) Nicky Butt - I still love the man as much as I did when I wrote this earlier. His performance against the Mackems was immense - he made their middle five look like amatuers. Picks up the silver in the POTY stakes (8) Charles N'Zogbia - Moody, uncommitted and pretty much gone. If ever there was a player who was on their way... (5) Damien Duff - Another we need to purge from the squad. He looks shot and I can't ever see him getting back to the level he once was. (5) James Troisi - Gone. (-) Strikers Obafemi Martins - One match he's our most dangerous player, looking like he could be a world class striker. The next you can barely tell he's on the pitch. I've knocked his tally up one notch for YouTube comments but i'll knock it back down if he doesn't become more consistant (7) Michael Owen - I can't see him being here for much longer unfortunately which is a shame because since he started playing in the hole he's looked like the Michael Owen of old. Smart, fairly pacey and clinical infront of goal. 3rd in the POTY (8) Alan Smith - Go now. Please. (3) Mark Viduka - "No one stands still better than Mark Viduka..." was a common complaint earlier this season, now it's praise. Some of his flick ons for Owen are sublime (7) Shola Ameobi - Sign for Stoke, you daft shite. You're not wanted here (2) Andy Carroll - He's looked like a youngster when he's played. (-) And the others... Sam Allardyce Kevin Keegan - Lifted the fans and has put up with some immense pressure from the press. He's spoke his mind and fair play to him for that. The move towards 433 and putting Owen in the hole should be a sign to all he's not this tactically naive old man some want to paint him out to be (7) Chris Mort - I still have nothing bad to say about him. He's came out and said what's needed to be said. Some people are intent on spinning his words to suit their own agenda but I quite like the lad. (8) Mike Ashley - It's hard not to listen to the press murmurs of discontent between Keegan and Ashley. I for one don't expect managers and owners to be best mates and have a constant dialogue, that's what the chairman is for, but Keegan's comment about how they never talk was a bit unsettling. I'm still confident he'll get it right and he'll give a fair amount of money to spend in the summer. The deals for Modric and Woodgate say more than any Daily Mail article ever will (7)

Because they buy the majority of Irish, Championship or Irish Championship players floating about.

The BBC are paying everyone too much, apart from the people that do loads of the work. The presenters get paid a fucking shit load too much. There's a kind of 'In house' things going on at the BBC. Look at Chiles & Barrowman/Norton they all do a shit load of programs. Been watching series 2 of Partridge by any chance? No I'm a Film & Television student I don't get it It's the law that if you're doing any form of Media degree you're allowed to be snotty about the state of the Western media until you get a job in it.

Am I the only person who thinks it is daft to say "we're going to finish 6th/16th" currently? The transfer window hasn't even opened yet.

Because you're a cock Hadrian, Hadrian, where ever thou may be, Please log onto the internet and visit TT, Just to prove that your opinions are poo, And once and for all that nee fucker likes you Other clubs in the league didn't have debts at the level we did. Man United can afford to be up to there arsehole in debt because they're a good side but the general concensus is the debt we had built up was unsustainable. Simply being in debt isn't the issue, the amount in total is.

thats what they are telling us, or have us believe. So what has the last week been about then ? This idea of bringing in potential youngsters, how many do you think will make the grade and be top players ? The current trophy winning clubs aren't exactly packed out with their own products are they ? We've also tried the same ourselves, its nothing new. You mean the media frenzy around a meeting that was quite literally about fuck all?

Editing my post, T-Keith? Power mad, I tells yer

After all the shite that's been talked about us over the past week I would love it if we went out and fucking paggered them in their own backyard. It's going to be a long, long summer so lets go out on a high. HOWAY THE LADS! :D NUFC: To follow...Kevin Keegan must make one enforced change due to the unavailability of Joey Barton, who has a bail restriction that prevents his travelling to Merseyside. Also confirmed as being missing through injury are Mark Viduka (achilles), James Milner and Emre, the latter being given an early release to link up with Turkey. As part of their Euro 2008 preparations, the Turks face Slovakia, Uruguay and Finland in friendly games being staged across Germany from May 20th to 29th. EFC: Howard, Hibbert, Yobo, Jagielka, Lescott, Baines, Valente, Carsley, Neville, Osman, Fernandes, Pienaar, Johnson, Yakubu, Anichebe, Wessels, Rodwell, Gosling. Mikel Arteta (stomach), James Vaughan (knee) and Tim Cahill (foot) are all out.

The debt we all knew about. We all knew we were somewhere between 60-70 million in the red but £100 million was too much. Why do you think every other consortium couldn't get out of the city quick enough after conducting due dilligence. I've nee idea what you're going on about when you talk about the debt rising. We're debt free now and have been for months, Mort has said as much. There is nothing to say we aren't going to spend about from a few shite articles. Chin up.

Are you questioning whether it's true, questioning whether it should impact the level of investment, or just plain annoyed that it's been mentioned more than once? all three actually , im pretty sure we were told 80 mill at first , then they stuck the transfer fee's from last season on it and started throwing around the 100mill number as how much had been invested , now thats just purely debt apparently so yeah im not sure if its true . you dont buy clubs and 100 mill debt pops up out of nowhere aswell . should it impact investment ? its being used as a reason for lack of it , but is it our problem that the club was bought and the new owner supposedly found this debt ? whats the debt for aswell , is it debt owed out in the future ? or debt we have now ,as ive heard stories that some of its for players transfer fee's thats still due ect , (only forked out 4 mill so far for oba ) if thats the case the money is in the player and nothing is lost , sell the player and get money back plus some of the debt . They always knew the debt was there, just not on the level that they discovered. Considering they didn't undertake due dilligence it's not surprising they didn't know all about it. If you're really advocating the selling of players to write off the debt then you're a bit wrong in the head. The majority of our first team squad was probably bought on that premise and I doubt a players value is going to rise that much when playing in the lower half of the league.

It's the Daily Mail - the newspaper that believes Richard Littlejohn actually has some journalistic qualities. It's garbage.

So we were going to make Modric our only summer signing then? Utter tosh.

I can see MackemHero getting a greenhouse buggering if he isn't careful.

When I hear the term constructive I just imagine them dicking around with Lego for a few hours
