  1. The minute I heard this on the radio I was saying silent prayer to the man upstairs that one of them be Freddy.
  2. Will he want to use an obscene amount of it knowing that if things don't go well and the fans are beginning to demand his head on a stick he'll have to pay up on a fat contract? Somehow I doubt it, he's not Fat "How much do you want" Fred. we'll have to do without Mourhino then. Unfortunately, yes! aye, good job Fred has gone, otherwise as skol says, we might have Mourinho as manager Nowt like missing the point Leazes

  5. Anyone, basically. McLeish btw? Fuck me sideways. Didn't he play dire, drab football with Rangers, only winning the title because Celtic threw it away in spectacular fashion on the last day? He's done well for Scotland but I get the feeling Brown did most of the ground work.
  6. Not sure it deserved an answer like that really I'm meant to be working, it was a good excuse to procrastinate
  7. For everyone who quotes Citeh as an example of how things should be at this club i'm going to kill a kitten. They're quite simply a one off and could've so easily ended up in our position.
  8. How fucking deluded? First of all, that's a stupid situation because if Sam and the new man do happen to get on, yet results don't improve we're going to be left with two men on the payroll both blaming the side rather than each other. Second of all do you really believe that anyone of Capello's class would come near this club at the minute? Take off your Freddy '8th biggest club in the world' Shepherd head, give it a shake and then put it back on. We didn't even manage to get a top class coach in when Robson had just taken us to 5th, christ knows how we'd get anyone of any quality in when our league positions have been schizophrenic and our hiring and firing of managers has been ridiculous.
  9. Moore had already decided he wanted to go back to Australia IIRC. As for Bramble his Newcastle career lasted three or four years too long, giving him a reprieve would've just been stupid.
  10. He could sign whoever he wants as long as he brings in either Arshavin or Riquelme too
  11. I hate fucking blaming injuries but we can't honestly expect to see what Allardyce is learning until he's got close to a full strength squad. I can only think of Smith off the top of my head as being a 'bad buy'. There was almost a collective thwapathon on here with some of the buts he made over the summer. Good players don't turn into bad players. As they say form is temporary, class is permanent and since the Pompy game we've hit a brick wall. Yes, we weren't playing brilliant prior to that but we managed to get results. Your last sentence just strikes me as quite pompous. We may not be a 'little club' but we're certainly not as big as some people want to believe we are.
  12. Who then!! Im still waiting on a name Off the top of my head Ottmar Hitzfeld ? Alex McLeish ? Quique Florres ? Marcello Lippi ? Michael Laudrup ? Co Adriaanse ? McLeish is the only realistic one out of that lot and IMO, he's no great shakes. Do you think he could manage the seemingly monumental task of picking a decent starting XI and formation and then produce the sporting miracle that is substituting the right players ? Possibly, but do you think he'd be able to get the best out of a side of which most haven't played with each other before and a lot of others haven't played in this league before? Also, do you think he'd be given more than 13 games to create his own team? No, he wouldn't. I find it funny that people are using the 13 games thing as an excuse for Allardyce, 13 games in which he has brought in several of his own players yet made us worse than under Souness or Roeder. When a manager loses the dressing room, it doesn't matter if he's had 13 matches or 1300, he's got to go. Allardyce is the first manager we've had in frig kna's how long who's actually had a pre-season to toy and tinker with the side. Positive because he manages to get a chance to buy his players and get a fresh start but negative because there is this whole idea of how our lack of success recently can be attributed to sacking managers 4 games in to the season etc. etc. Roeder, Souness came in and experienced an inflated honeymoon period because they inherited a side who were motivated and had played together. Allardyce's signings look positive but need time to gel as a team. 13 games should be long enough but a lot of them have barely played together, our defence being one of the main victims. I'll be the first to admit he's made a few poor decision tactically but he's the first manager since Sir Bob with some pedigree behind him when it comes to management. As if our reputation isn't poor enough, sacking a manager 13 games in certainly isn't going to help it. Any self respecting, world class manager knows unless he's walking into a side like Milan, Barca, Man United etc he's going to need time, something they wont get here. I can't see any manager coming here unless they're on a big, fat contract that'll get paid out on when they're forced out because certain people get itchy feet when we don't instantly start playing Arsenal like football. There was a thread on here just after the Bolton match when BSA came out and said that there was going to be some very rough times and rather than the booing and jeering, we needed to support. Funnily enough, I can also remember the lions share of people on this board agreeing that this is what we needed to do. Fickle fuckers.

  15. He's already had 13 chances for fucks sake, he's fucked up 5 and almost fucked up 3 more, how many chances should he get before the penny drops? 13 games in football is nothing. Bugger all. If this we're Souness,Roeder,Shearer would you be saying the same? Would you fuck Yes, I would. Okay, I didn't/wouldn't approve of those appointments but why fucking kneejerk? We're rebuilding, i'd be very happy with a top half finish this season. That would've been the same with anyone at the helm. Anyway, if we do get rid who is going to realistically want to come to us who's the calibur that some on here expect?

Seriously, at what point will you start pressing the panic button and when you do won't you be wishing you'd pressed it sooner ? When Allardyce has had sufficient time to really make his mark. If after a season we're still not performing then fair enough but if we're going to start hoying a paddy after 13 games we're never going to get anywhere.

  18. You can tell the side is just completely devoid of confidence at the moment, which is always a massive hindrance to any club. However, some of Allardyce's decisions have been nothing short of mind boggling. Emre for Barton, taking off our only creative player for a less than match fit slugger, was stupid. I've no idea what he saw but at 2-0 even Roeder and Souness would've knew that you needed to get goals. Sacking him is out of the question IMO. His decisions haven't helped but the players also need to shoulder a lot of the blame.
  19. Good film, but going to suffer from the holier than thou opinions of people who like to shoot down anything or anyone that gains any commercial success.
  20. Saw them a couple of months back. Canny night out, and Jenny Lewis is pretty captivating when she gets her rawk star head on. I haven't really listened to them much but what I did listen to I liked. I'm quite looking forward to going to see a band with a completely open mind and no preconceived ideas for the first time in ages.
