Your point is well taken, but as this was a film focussed solely on the incidents that lead to the birth of the Joker persona it jars a little. Even more so because it has a weighty actor in the starring role. Feels an attempt at a canonical telling of his origin, rather than versions of an origin in closed off universe like in Moore's Killing Joke, or Burton's Batman. Burton's Joker was pretty 2D and throw away, Moore's was more rounded but part of a broader story. I anticipate all you cunts being cunts and I think you're all cunts for cunting on like cunts.
