Rarely pop my head in here so started a Yes Gemmill thread for JL. Echo what Gloomy said, despite knowing sweet fuck all about Rugby, I knew about Lomu and his impact (no pun intended) on the sport.

Depends, what colour was that dress?
-
Nope. But I've "begrudgingly" agreed to let her watch one of her shows instead.

I'm more a "Jumpers with elbow pads weekly" kinda guy.

They just haven't given it the old college try.

You think we'll get relegated this time?

Are denim jackets even sold anymore? I thought they were like shellsuits; highly flammable and associated with paedohiles?
-
Maybe. in all honesty, I think Carroll was pretty much pushed to the door he then jumped out of, Enrique orchestrated his exit, but the other two are just as mercenary as Ba and Remy

Not sure why but I immediately expect that to be have been more deciding a factor for Ba or Remy, than for Carroll, Debuchy, Enrique or Cabaye. Probably just my bias; I want the latter group to have moved for more... noble(?) reasons?

Don't think that's true. They're categorised as hate crime aren't they? That Brevik (sp?) was denounced as a domestic terrorist, wasn't he?

Disagree with anyone telling anyone what they can and can't wear. You banning it is no different to Saudi Arabia insisting on it. They're both removing freedom and while your position may be an effort to afford more freedom to women, it's still an infringement of personal choice, no?
-
Aye but none of the players who left thought considered that they wouldn't be a success at the other clubs. They all thought they were going to start for and win trophies with PSG, Liverpool, Chelsea or whomever.

Anaesthetised more like.

Which is surely how you defeat radicalisation? Bend and mould the culture, don't just bluntly oppose it?
-
To be fair, the fact we're free to condemn the crimes of the Catholic church, the atrocities committed by the Lord's Resistance Army, and so on, without fear of prosecution or persecution is why people find things like the niqab and burka so disquieting, isn't it?
-
Aye, but does the hijab oppress women? I now see it as a cultural fashion item, rather than a declaration of faith. Niqab and Burka, not so much, the instant gut reaction when I see a woman wearing one is that of pity. "That poor woman, forced to cover up to spare her man's blushes!" Which is stupid because she might have chosen this path for herself against the will of her parents or whatever. Can't help it though, I see that kind of garb and I feel sorry for the woman beneath them.
-
Nah, he'll dress up like this and chase her round the house
-
Don't really care about the hijab, it's no different to the Sikh turban or the Jewish yarmulke to be honest. I do find the Niqab and Burka unsettling though.

Isn't that an African problem, rather than a Muslim problem?
