I don't harbor most of these guys ill will. They simply weren't good enough or didn't fit in. (Which is not to say I don't harbor *some* of them ill will.)

Newcastle United V Bolton Wanderers Easter Monday Kick Off 3pm
Zathras replied to Christmas Tree 's topic in Newcastle Forum
Can anyone who is watching give an opinion on Tim Ream (Bolton #32) please? Anxious to see how he's acquitting himself in the Premier League. -
And again today. Still remember Tino's free kick clearly. .COM describe it as but I must say my memory is that Neil Sullivan should have saved it. Nevertheless, a fond memory.

A concussion is a brain injury and not to be trifled with. Don't know you well enough to say if there's any real concerns over your brain in particular but generally speaking, people are too cavalier about an injury that quite literally is a result of having your brain splattered against your skull. http://thinktaylor.org/concussion-info.html

Once you've had your fill of that one, try this one: http://www.sporcle.com/games/JakePFC/footballclubs 117.

I'm really glad they're making those retro shirts available. Now if I only had the funds to buy a couple I love the 84 and 86 grey/silver ones.

You may be right. Then I don't know. At first I thought Martins but I had it the wrong way; he went to a Germany club rather than coming from one. Checking through the NUFC.com transfer records, it was Hamann.

Don't need to do it, just give me the idea. There isn't exactly a person to replace on the Brown Ale logo, is there? Is there a famous-ish generic NUFC drawing I could use?

An excellent suggestion... except I'm uncertain how best to incorporate Carl's visage.

Nice. I might actually be able to use this, or at least part of it. Thing is, even though I have family in Stocksfield, and have been supporting Newcastle since about 1994, I haven't been to the UK since 2003, and so simply don't have a great sense of what would be an iconically Geordie nod to him. I don't necessarily need the image mocked up, just the idea(s).

He'd probably find it pretty funny, actually, but I'd have a hell of a time painting it.

The assistant coach at my local side is Carl Craig, and I want to make a banner for him. I've made several for various players already, but the reason I come here is that the man is a Geordie. I'd like the banner to acknowledge that and be a nod to his background. Pics are below of Carl, and suggestions would be welcome. Some of my other banners:

You want classic?

Sigh. Expected but still disappointing.

I know this comes off as just bitter whining, but I really really hate it when players hesitate/stutter step on their run up to a penalty.

You knew it was coming. We were getting into the game finally so of course City would score now.

The title may say "lose" but the meat of the book is very much looking at the big picture of performance over time. Sadly, even after all the numbers and data they put forth, Kuper and Szymanski are still very much optimistic about Capello heading into South Africa 2010, even acknowledging the small sample size they're dealing with.... Either way, it's definitely the best football book I've read in a long time. Absolutely fascinating in the same way that Moneyball was for baseball.

Link A fascinating look at this very question, which concludes that England actually tend to perform at or above expected levels based on factors such as population, experience and money. They don't overperform the way, say, Spain or France have recently, but until the last world cup Spain were "perenniel underachievers" etc.
