It's interesting that the only two people I've actually heard say that he should be banned or that Boris and Dowden should pipe down are Carberry and Ramprakash. Carberry saying that he shouldn't play cricket again seems absolutely ridiculous but he's obviously felt the effects of racism like most of us never have or will. Ramprakash said if Moeen or Rashid had been part of the team last week this would have been a massive issue in the dressing room. I think we have to consider there is quite a problem within sport in this country and if they want to attract minorities into the game they have to do something more than wear a t-shirt or take the knee. That said, while I can understand the ECB suspending Robinson while they conduct an investigation (something they surely should be doing before they call a player up in the first place) a long term ban for someone posting some offensive tweets when they were 18 and probably pissed would be way over the top. After all Stokes bust some kids jaw in a nightclub and is a national hero. People in all walks of life make mistaes and commit crimes and are allowed to be rehabilitated. Robinson hasn't even commited a crime.

Suprised that these cricketers aren't clever enough to delete their old dodgy tweets. It's the type of behaviour I'd expect from Premiership footballers.

You're pushing it with midtable aren't you? I used to play Champ Man as Huddersfield because I knew they'd been a successful team years ago (won the league 3 years in a row I think the song goes) but were absolutely nothing as a club at the time. I didn't mean it as an insult to Hudderfield but any supporters who could remember their success (given it was in the 1920's it was unlikely there was many even back in the 90's) might see it as a pisstake that they have fallen to that point. I think this is where Howaymanheyman was coming from. It's Ashley that's insulting us by dragging us down to this level not Griezman for picking us.

I enjoyed that but it was pretty relentlessly grim.

I was bored at work last week so had a scan through RTG and they had a thread about this very thing. While there was certainly some on there talking down this shit, there was a ridiculous amount seriously blaming this for their failure to get out of that league again. Their level of self delusion is staggering. I'm sure we might have mentioned at the start of our last season in the championship that there might be a few teams who will see playing us as a massive thing but it's not something that was used as an excuse for every time we dropped points. And had we failed to go up we wouldn't have kept bleating on about it four years later!

The defence and goal keeping situation is definitely the most like reason for our failure this summer. Apart from rightback we look appalling.

I think that all depends on if it's the last one. If it is then the whole thing has been a waste of time.

Well I seem to be in the minority here who love Line Of Duty (but absolutely hate Mrs Browns Boys). It might not mean much now but I've also really enjoyed Mare Of Easttown. Although Guy Pearce has been criminally under used in it.

Strangely a lot of the people on twitter who were saying he shoudln't complain about the racism because he had a shit game appeared to be black and Asian. Of couse this is depending on whether their twitter profile is accurate.

Had it on me ipad while watching something else on the telly. Was pretty shit from what I seen. Quite a few good penalties but not the greatest keeping. Shocking miss from Rashford which has led to frankly embarassing racist abuse and frightening defence of that abuse on the basis that these people seem to think it's fine since he had a shit game.

Not every season is it? Didn't they miss out completely last year? The new manager bounce should really now be called the sunderland technique by now shouldn't it.

I used to like Tyler, I though he was one of the better commentators but the longer he's been with sky the more he seems to think he's some kind of important figure in football. Five years after he retires no cunt will remember him at all and handing over of his notes to Sergio beggars belief. Fair play to Aguero for managing to look enthusiastic.

Aye what Alex said. I do agree largely with what eesembee said about him being a maverick, although I don't think that would necessarily put Arsenal or Spurs off. But I do think foreign teams (although again I think the top ones wouldn't be interested) might be more interested. Whether they would have the finances would be the question.

I think this is right. The very best teams will look at him and see how often he manages 90 minutes, as well the fact that he's actually only managed 3 goals and 4 assists this season and I don't think they will be entering a bidding war any time soon. Ambtious teams on the up like Leicester, West Ham and Everton would probably interested but whether they'd pay £40m + remains to be seen. Arsenal would be the least surprising but of course if Kane does go for something like £150m, they might splash some of that cash about stupidly like they did after selling Bale.
