Gouffran's a striker really isn't he?
-
Don't have anywhere near your confidence that even losing the next two games will see him sacked but lets hope so. Can't say I can stand Pulis much but he's certainly preferable to Pardew. Moyes would be much more palletable. They are very obvious choices and if we can agree terms with either of them I think it's likely that one of them would be the way Ashley would go. I think it's almost impossible that we'll pick some top up and coming coach from abroad because Ashley won't have a clue who they are. I also can't see him paying anyone compensation for taking their manager.

NUFC plan to install giant Sports Direct Advertisement Screen

Isn't there some sort of ruling about showing any controvertial incidents? Mind you I suppose an offside goal would be shown. -

Sitting in the East Stand I assume I'm going to be one of the 12k who get to avoid the additional sports direct adverts then. Happy days! -
Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
David Kelly replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
There's more than enough reason there to get him sacked. All they have to do is turn up against us these days because under this fucking idiot we will bottle it every time no matter how shite they are.- 10610 replies

Is a top 10 finish realistic after the poor tranafer window ?
David Kelly replied to accadacca's topic in Newcastle Forum
It seems pretty likely that regardless of the ability of our players, we have a clueless manager and a massive problem in terms of self belief (we've barely won a game this year don't forget). We need a dramatic change in order for us to get even into the top ten and that means removing Pardew and replacing him with someone compitent who can get the players we have going and managing to get Ashley to spend the required amount on a new striker and centreback in January. Personally I don't see that happening so I think a relegation battle is more likely at the minute. -
Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
David Kelly replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
I don't buy the couldn't attract anyone better argument. Yes we're not going to attract absolute top class managers in the same way we're not going to attract the very top payers. But there are plenty of managers who work all over europe who have had to deal with lunatic owners and or financial meltdowns. We are still a reasonably big name in world football and we still have plenty of international players. That would attract some pretty decent managers. The bigger problem for me would be that I have no faith in Ashley and Charnley to be able to recognise what qualities are needed in a good manager let alone find someone who has them. Unless Ashley has some advisors we don't know about in that area I really can't believe that we're capable of doing any sort of extensive recruitment process. That said I'm at the point that I really don't care who comes in as long as Pardew is gone. I fucking hate everything about the smarmey cunt.- 10610 replies

We need to make sure we get balance right between not losing him and making sure he keeps his feet on the gound and progresses. It's increasingly difficult to that these days with the wages that are on offer.

The experience of Pardew being totally unable to get us playing without his plan A last season (ie Cabaye) and so far this season (a fit SDJ) suggests that we will not be winning many matches any time soon. Hopefully that results in Pardew getting the boot. Even if he's replaced poorly I'd still get some enjoyment from seeing that cunt gone.
-
This is when pardew really earns his money and comes up with a plan b. Oh wait.
-
I'm sure everyone would agree with you there. Everyone except CT who of course would disagree just to argue!
-
His peak really isn't good enough to be a starter though is it? I've no problems with him as a squad memeber though.
-
I don't have massive problems with Saylor or Raylor (assuming he can return to the levels he was before injury) as squad players tbh. Neither of them should be starters at any time other than an injury crisis though. Your assesment of the missing ingredients to the starting 11 is blindingly obvious to everyone but Ashley/Charnley/Pardew (if you believe his shite which I personally don't) or it would have been addressed this summer. At the start of the summer we needed three things. Creativity, a striker to lead the line and a centerback. One of those things was addressed with a combination of SDJ and Cabella (and to a small extent Colback). The other two have been shamfully dismissed (and in the case of the defence actually made weaker).

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
David Kelly replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
Ben Arfa, Sissoko, Debuchy, Cabella - All French Internationals Krul, Anita, SDJ, LDJ, Janmaat - All Dutch Internationals Cisse - Senegal International Tiote - Ivory Coast International Santon - Italian International He's had all of those players at his disposal since January. Hardly a car with a missing wheel. A decent manager should be able to get international players (from good teams too) to play some football should he not?- 10610 replies

You've nicely picked comments from the spell of two months when we played well last season. If you've got so much time on your hands to trawl through all the posts from last season try and find comments like that from any other part of the season.- 10610 replies

No Ben Arfa didn't play well last season but certainly from January onwards he mostly was given a few minutes at the end of games when things weren't going well and was expected to magic something out of nothing while still tracking back. Regardless of that though and the fact that he didn't help himself, Pardew's treatment of him cost us money. (I do actually agree that Ben Arfa's the type of player who starts off well but then falls away) And I just plain disagree about Mbiwa. He got a run of starts at centreback when Colo was out alongside Williamson and that was the best our defence looked all season. He's certainly shit at rightback but I don't blame him for not being good when he's played out of position (again pardews fault especially when he had the choice to play Taylor there who's probably played better at fullback than he ever has in the centre).- 10610 replies

Remy Cabella - signs from Montpellier
David Kelly replied to Monroe Transfer's topic in Newcastle Forum
He's not really doing much of a job of that either so far. But then again the service to him has been pathetic. -
Remy Cabella - signs from Montpellier
David Kelly replied to Monroe Transfer's topic in Newcastle Forum
It's a concern how the new players (baring Janmaat and Colback) have started but it's amazing how quick some people are to write them off. Colo had more than a season of being absolutely comical before he came good. But it's the position Ashley and Pardew have put us in that has made people like this. We don't have any options at all so we desperately need these players to hit the ground running and because they aren't there is immense pressure building on them. I feel most sorry for Riviere as he has basically been hung out to dry. -
Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
David Kelly replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
Having to deal with the constraints you list doesn't stop a manager from being able to coach. They don't make him fall out with Ben Arfa to the point that we lose a player who we could have easily got upwards of £10m for nothing. They don't make him think Steven Taylor is better than a French international that led his team to a shock title. They don't make him give Dummett a squad number. They don't make him play Cisse right wing or persist with Gouffran on the right when he's offering nothing. They don't prevent him from adding another striker to the game when your 1 - nil down at home with 20 minutes left on the opening day. They don't make him play Dummett. And they don't make you congratulate yourself for signing players or dedicate a win to the man who sold your best player from under you. The appointment of a decent manger who would live with those constraints you mention could easily eliminate those problems.- 10610 replies

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
David Kelly replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
I think that was exactly the case on Saturday. As soon as Zaha came on the players were terrified of him. There's no reason any of our players should have been immediately frightened of a player who had previously done nothing in the premier league. But Pardew has repeatedly praised him. I can just imagine how he talked to our players about him before the game!- 10610 replies

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
David Kelly replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
No there's nothing to judge him on, I'm just suggesting that he has no experience. He might be a mastermind but since he's not been a part of anything like this we can't know. Allowing someone with his limited experience and Ashley's clearly limited knowledge is like allowing someone without any football experience manage a premier league club.- 10610 replies

My point exactly. Two blokes who seemingly know very little about football. I bet most of the people who post on here could come up with more realistic targets than those two.- 10610 replies

After the first three league games last season we got Cabaye back into the squad and Remy playing. That was when our season took off (up until it ended in January). We're already 2 points down on last season with a similar set of fixtures. If Cabella, SDJ and Riviere don't kick on for us after the international break then our season is going to be a massive struggle.

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
David Kelly replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
Supposing that is true, the question still remains who in the club can be trusted to find a decent manager? Ashley's record of appointments for us is pretty appalling. They have either been kneejerk, cost cutting or a combination of both. He knows how to appoint the right people to run his business's because he knows what it takes in that field. He seemingly has no clue in football.- 10610 replies

Most likely. They won't have the knowlege to go outside the club or someone they know which seem to have been their only ideas so far. Getting rid of the clown we currently have might not change much other than having to listen to his constant shite.- 10610 replies
