I wouldn't start panicking and thinking about playing Obertan. Don't think he scares anyone but himself. But I would certainly prefer to see us have two wingers playing. Bored to death of the current trend of three cebtral midfielders and no real wingers in the game.
-
Don't know if it was because of the shitty stream I watched it on but his ball for the winning goal and that one long range shot aside I didn't think Armstrong did much. And forgot Abeid was playing until well into the second half.
-
Dummett was actually alright
-
Aye they were for me like. Think rivière will be starting our next game still but yes poor substitutions as per.
-
How's Abeid been sent off. I've never noticed he was on the pitch.
-
Rivière had an excellent game after his goal. Very happy for the lad. Might as well chuck this now though. Ne chance in extra time or pens.
-
Unless one of those changes is our manager, I'll hold off on my excitment.

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team

Haha the sentiment remains correct though. Mind you since Clarke Carlisle is supposedly the thinking mans ex player, I think I'd rather have the usual thick cunts comentating.- 10610 replies

You're probably right Alex but I also think that quote from Mourinho is spot on. There are very few footballers who show any real intelligence off the pitch. Woodgate is an excellent example of how a player can be very intelligent in how he plays football but the bloke has a nickname of villiage! They just don't make good pundits because they're boarderline retards.- 10610 replies

It's no surprise that the lowest three managers in terms of the percentage of available substitutions are Dyche, Lambert and Rodgers. Burnley and Villa have small squads with quite a drop in quality from those players who play regularly and those who dont. Liverpool have a better squad but when you're trying to influence an attacking outcome (which what I believe most tactical substitutions are) they don't have players on the bench anywhere near the quality of Suarez, Sturrige, Sterling and Gerrard. Since those players stayed fit most of the time last season you wouldn't change them, you'd just hope they could pull something out of the bag. With regards to Pardew he takes off Goufrran or a leftback in the majority of his substitutions (and Riviere now) but he rarely takes the chance of bringing on someone who is plays a more attacking role. Saturday showed this clearly. We were getting beat 2-0 and he takes off our only striker and brings on a new one (he did exactly the same against Citeh although later iirc). He got lucky partially because Bruce made a cock up with his substitution taking off Jelavic who was holding the ball up well and pushing us back. That allowed us to move the ball forward easier. He also got lucky that Cisse actually started hitting the target and McGreggor dropped a bollock for the first goal.

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team

The only ones who seem to have anything good to say about him is those who have never directly been associated with him. Then it seems to be the usual old boys club with no one wanting to say anything that isn't positive. It would be refreshing if there were more pundits like Graeme Swan. He came out recently and said that Cook isn't the right captain for Englands one day team. Cook's a mate of his (or was since he didn't take it well) but Swan told the truth as (as he said himself) he's being employed as a pundit to give his opinion.- 10610 replies

A Walk Among The Tombstones. Very good, fortunately it's not at all like Neeson's recent action films and reminded me a bit of Silence Of The Lambs in the way that it's paced as a detective film. -
Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team

Him staying in the technical area all game wasn't brave in any sense of the word. He knew exactly what he was doing. If he'd sat down he would have got booed every time he got up (as shown by the boos he got everytime the ball went near him and when he high fived Cisse). But he knew no one was going to boo him for 90 minutes solid so by standing there the whole game he didn't give people the oppertunity. Unusually for him it was quite a clever move (albeit one probably done to spite us), I just wish he could turn the shrewd mind of his to the team!- 10610 replies

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
David Kelly replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
"There's nothing I can do to stop them protesting and I don't intend to, but all I do hope is that they give the team the chance to win the game and that the protest comes quickly and goes as quickly and hopefully we take the lead and we can see the game out." How typical is that of his management by the way. Hopefully we get a quick goal and can see it out. Not hopefully we can get a quick goal and kick on from there and get a few more. We've had it said about us many times that we would rather lose 4-3 than win 1-0 and his whole tactical outlook seems to be built on trying to get us the latter. I'd be content with winning 1-0 every week but there is simply no way that it's sustainable long term to just try and defend from the point that you take the lead. Especially with a defence like ours!- 10610 replies

I might be wrong but I think he'd dropped back in the pecking order since Goufrrans arival into the lots of graft but no end product position. Actually I am wrong, he'd played in at least the last 10 games of the previous season. That said we were in the best form we'd been in since we'd finished 5th just before he went to Norwich so it's still perfectly conceivable that they just decided he was no longer needed. Mind you, if he comes out and says he thinks we tried to get rid of him becuase of his illness I'll happily eat my words and believe him over those cunts running the club.

I think it's a stretch to read that he was told that it might be best that looked for another club and take it that meant we don't want you here because you have cancer. Players always say they're surprised to hear that they don't figure in a managers plans any longer so what Jonas has said there doesn't come across any differently from most of them. As I've said, nothing would surprise me with our hiarachy but I think people are just looking for fault in this one.

It sounds like the best actions for his health weren't necessarily taken but from that interview I don't think it sounds like Jonas is suggesting he was forced into anything (the only thing he really sounds a little upset over is losing his place). I agree it seems surprising that he was able to pass a medical but again you have to assume that he did. Anyway I hope everything is going well on your recovery mate.
