  1. Well not wanting to piss on your chips Brock we really don't need to be seeing Reading win this one! Although I'd be happy for a draw with Reading getting a last minute equaliser. Just to have Chelsea on a bit of a downer for the weekend.
  2. Bin dippers have signed that Coutinhio. According to comments by their supports on the SSN article, it's just in time for their assault on the top 4! Are there any more deluded fans in the world than those morons?
  3. Fuck me there's some money been wasted there!
  4. I think if Marveaux had started he would have been taken off in the second half for that very reason. I would however expect that in most games we'd be able to have enough presence in the center of the park to cover him.
  5. He's out for a couple of weeks apparently. We could well see Ben Arfa back before then in which case I would expect to be playing him and Goufran.
  6. He's just one of many complete twat refs there are at the minute. The only decent one there is can't ref our games!
  7. I'm totally amazed to see anyone defend Obertan after quite frankly disgraceful displays he put in against Brighton and Norwich. He was an embarrassment in both of those games and lets face it, they're far from the only bad games he's had. In his time here he's managed a couple of half acceptable performances in nearly two years. I've never seen another player at this club who's had less heart than he has (and that includes Owen). To suggest that he's a better player than Jonas is lunacy. If Marveaux is fit for Saturday I would play him ahead of Jonas no problem but if we cancelled Squidwards contract tomorrow I'd be more than happy.
  8. I thought Happy Face was our stats man I forgot about Dean. He truly was awful, some of their challenges that he let go were dreadful.
  9. We need to stop Mata if we're to have any chance.
  10. Played a lot further forward than I was expecting like. But he certainly did it very well in the first half. Don't know if he ran himself out or if it was just that Villa were just dominating, but he barely touched the ball in the second half.
  11. Setting aside that I don't agree with your assement of him, who would you have played instead of him last night (or in the last couple of games for that matter)? Maveaux was injured, Obertan should never be allowed anywhere near a shirt, Sammy is a headless chicken and Fergusson is short of quality.
  12. He was as good as anyone in the second half. Not the imperious display he put in against the makems but no sign of any issue.
  13. I don't really think we were poor at all in the second half. Yes we didn't keep the ball well at all but that was mainly down to what Villa were doing rather than us being poor. For me the only poor thing was Pardew. His substitutions were again bewildering and his tactic of lumping long balls up to Shola who was isolated and is one of the least mobile players I've seen in a long time. But this was in reaction to what Villa were doing, it wasn't the cause of them getting on top in the second half.
  14. While u do blame Pardew for his halftime instructions against Reading I don't blame him tonight. Second half was all about Villa and they deserve credit for it. What I do blame Pardew for is panicking and bringing that fuckwit Shola on and resorting back to hoofball when we needed to keep a hold of it. That said It was pleasing to see we were up for the fight and the spirit is there. The first half on the other hand was superb. We completely bossed the midfield. Sissoko was really impressive and Gouffran looks a good addition to the squad (certainly a lot more usefull than Obertan). Overall I'm just delighted to get the win and hopeful we can get something on Saturday too.
  15. Marveaux must be injured to not even be on the bench after Pardew mentioning him quite positively lately. Interesting that there's no Squidward either.
  16. The point is though that we couldn't have signed those players last summer because of the price we would have had to pay.
  17. I'm not sure we need Perch when we're playing Jonas like.
  18. Pipe down you mug, we're a knocking bet
  19. Aye I'd agree with that formation Fish. If the players we've bought are what they're made out to be and we play anywhere near up to scratch we should piss this!
  20. Gouffran's contract was also up so you could so as I say you would have also had to pay a lot more for him. I'm sure I read that the reason we got Mbwia as cheap as we did was because his contract was running out but Montpelier didn't want to let him go last summer so he signed a new contract with them so they wouldn't lose him for nothing next summer but on the basis that they would let him leave for cheap when the time was right. I assume them getting knocked out of the champions league made the time right. And Sissoko coming here next summer wouldn't have made him any cheaper last summer.
  21. Totally agree. What I was getting at though, is would we have been able to do these deals in the summer for the same money and the answer is most definitely no. The fact that we could now has arguably set us into action almost as much as the fear of relegation. I believe Ashley works on the basis of doing something if it's a good deal not because it moves us forward as a club. Fear of losing TV money, transfer fees on the assets we already have the bargain deals got all spurred this move for me.
  22. I'll save that for when Cisse gets his hattrick
