  1. There's a good Art Brut/My Sherona mash up out there too.
  2. Sounds like he's in the Viera mould of player so he should fit in fine in the premiership. And a midfield that has him and Tiote in should hopefully see us stop being out muscled in games like we were against wist am!
  3. When we're trying to keep him I doubt stripping him of the captaincy will help!
  4. See above re Aubameyang. I think he's one of the top scorers over there this season. I believe I've read the others (Thauvin not included) are young defenders
  5. Didn't he make a name for himself by scoring five in european game? Was it against Celtic? I saw him play a couple of times for Sporting last season in the wafa cup and he looked a good player.
  6. He's needs to be removed from the club as soon as possible regardless of whether he did this or not. The kids a waste a of air and an embarrassment to the club.
  7. Fair enough, I know I can't really judge him on just one game. I would assume that if we'd been scouting him he must have looked better than he did that night anyway! Mind you, he did still get into scoring opportunities when he managed to stay onside.
  8. Is this based on you seeing him play or just reports? I've only seen him play once (against Marseilles) but going from that one game, an abundance of Skill wouldn't be something I'd accuse him of. As for RWW, I don't see why similar players can't play together. Look at Shearer and Ferdinand. They were extremely similar and they were prolific together. I think the problem with Cisse and Ba wasn't that they were too similar, it was that Ba never looked to play with Cisse and we didn't have the team around them to help out.
  9. I have to admit that I have no expectation of us signing another striker now despite the fact that they admitted we needed one before Ba left. The only hope is that we manage to find one whos got some sort of contract despute that we can take advantage of. I think we're just going to have to hope Cisse finds his form and Gouffran hits the ground running.
  10. Sounds like sorting things out with his club has been the biggest issue. Hopefully everything else can be sorted tomorrow. After the last three days I'm a lot more optimistic than I would have been this time last week!
  11. I agree in this month alone we've dropped 8 points from what should have been very winnable games. I'm just happy they're here/on their way now!
  12. I think that's a harsh assessment of him tbh. Even in the relegation season he barely missed a game. Yes he was playing shit but he didn't hide like I think some have this season. And since then again he's been virtually ever present and that a rare thing these days. Between the first few games of the promotion season until after the makem game this season (when he was world class tbf) he'd barely had a bad game. Yes his standard has dropped since then which may well have been because his mind hasn't been right but certainly hasn't been helped by our injury problems this term particularly since Taylors injury. Williamson would bring even the best player down whereas for the most part he's improved him measurably. See how much worse Williamson looks when he's not playing with Colo. For that mater see how much worth Taylor looks too! Also Gloomy's right. All we've signed is one centre half if Colo goes, when (not if) Taylor gets injured again we're back to having Williamson as first choice. That should never happen again!
  13. We've signed Deschamps? Tbf his international career has been over for a while so I doubt he's arsed
  14. You've edited that post and it still ends up like that? I agree that it's bollox when people talk about how loyal he was that he stayed when we went down because his reputation was in tatters then and no one would have took him off us. But he's been the best centreback I've seen at the club (barring Woodgate just but then again I'd take Colo over him any day because of his fitness issues) since then and anyone who can't see how big a miss he'll be is totally kidding themselves. Whether or not his wife is really ill or it is to do with Destiny Quinn or whether he's just had enough we don't know at this stage so it's not the time to start having a go at him.
  15. I'm not so sure. I agree we won't sell cheap but people were talking £20m last summer, I still think there'd be a few takers between £10m & £15m. There's also still time for him to come back from the ACN and play alongside Cabaye and possibly Sissoko and pick his game back up. If he does I'm sure there'd be no shortage of takers!
  16. We might not get what we would have got last summer but I seriously doubt we'd have any trouble selling him. He's had two very good seasons before this one when he's had more than enough excuses of the quality of the players around him to keep the majority of his reputation intact!
  17. I really can't see all of our top players staying in the summer if we stay up (unless we can prove to them we can be ambitious and we've learned from last summers mistakes) so if we go down it's inevitable that a fair few will leave (we have much better and younger players than we had when we last went down) and any club looking at them will think (just as we have done in the past) that they will be able to get a bargain from a team that's going to lose a shit load of revenue. If you think of Ashely as a businessman (which is all that I think he is. Well he's a cunt as well obviously) then he will do whatever it takes not to lose out!
  18. If he'd done what he did to a player I think he'd be very lucky to escape with just a three match ban (mind you after what Feliani got away with against Stoke I doubt he would get more) but you simply can't do that to what in effect is just a member of the public regardless of what a tit he's being. Can I just ask the question that I can't understand why no one is asking? What the fuck is a seventeen year old (even one who looks twelve) doing being a ballboy? It's a while since I was that age but I know when I was I would be embarrassed as fuck to be a ballboy when all of my mates were out on the piss! I know our ballboys are far too young and small (to the extent that most of them aren't big enough to actually throw the ball back) but anyone over fifteen needs to have a serious look at themselves!
  19. I think there's an element of Ashley trying to safeguard the transfer fees he can get in for players in the summer as much as anything else. If we go down we will not be able to get as high a fee for the players who will want to leave (Cabaye, Tiote, Cisse, Ben Arfa, etc) so by acting now and spending (not really a massive amount) he might well be able to coin it in come July!
  20. Seems highly unlikely that we would pay so much for such an unproven player.
  21. Where's that from CT? Suggests he's more of a winger than striker although he's scored when up front.
  22. How can you understand his stance when you don't know what the issue is? And how do you know he has taken this stance? Since the news broke he's played in both the games we've had and he's training as normal today by all accounts. There's definitely an inclination on here to immediately believe the worst things. One report has him doing this everything else says things are still not sorted but the evidence is that he's still here and doing his job at the moment.
  23. We've played teams with Sammy Ameobi, Shane Ferguson, Paul Dummett, Adam Campbell, James Tavernier and Nile Ranger in this season. All young British players so any complaints about us signing players from a abroad should consider this. As for Cliques, I don't see it as a massive problem. There's already been a clique of Ba, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Maveaux, Obertan and Abeid and it's never looked like causing a problem. What could be more of a problem is the rules about home grown players. Will we end up having enough?
