  1. He started off at Forest under Clough about the same time as young Nigel was playing for them.
  2. franz carr???????? i can only assume you talking about stephen?? Fortunately for you I'm not talking about Stephen or else I would have just said he is complete shite. Franz Carr was a very fast winger we had playing for us ten years or more ago now. He was a bit brain dead and his delivery didn't often match his approach play. But much better than that useless prick Carr who plays for us now. you can have steve whittaker from us for around 1.5 mill if you want....future scotland player...and it will save him going to the old firm fuckers along the mate I take fucking Forrest Whittaker ahead of that clown Carr.

  4. I guess Franz Carr is the nearest comparison we have to any recent players here but as Alex says his oppertunities have been so limited it's impossible to tell much.
  5. He looked half decent on the couple of occasions I saw him, as Fish says he's fast as fuck. The general concensus seems to be that his crossing is often wayward. Gate's never even made the bench as far as I'm aware.
  6. They sounded him out and he told them to fuck right off. Apparently the lad has is iq of more than single figures.
  7. We're gonna have to see 9 or 10 additions never mind could be. As you say the squad was already paper thin if you take those two out we are left with; Keepers: Given, Harper, Krul - This is a satisfactory list if you ask me. Fullbacks: Nobby and Taylor - Neither of them fullbacks but I could see both of them being used at rightback on occasion. Centrebacks: Taylor, Rozenhal, Huntington, Edgar, Rammage - Rammage really shouldn't be anything more than 5th choice with Huntington and Edgar going out on loan to get some experience. Need two more in for my money. Wingers: Duff, N'Zogbia, Nobby, Milner & Dyer - Quantity wise we are covered here especially as Milner and Dyer can cover both flanks. Quality wise I'm not sure about any of them. Duff had an awfully first season here, N'Zogbia doesn't look like he wants to be here, Nobby is getting on, Milner despite being on of our best players last season still doesn't provide much and god knows where Dyer is best played. Centre Midfield: Barton, Butt, Emre & Dyer - Four experienced players who all have quality but the latter two especially haven't been very good lately. Hopefully Emre will be allowed to play further forward and actually create something for us. We could do with some more cover tbh and I would like to see someone who can unlock a few defences for us. Strikers: Owen, Martins, Viduka, Shola, Caroll - If we don't lose Owen or Martins then we have possibly our strongest ever looking four and hopefully Caroll can go out on loan to gain some experience. Dyer, Duff and probably Milner could all play there at a push too. The uncertainty surrounding Owen & Martins is a distraction we could do with out though, we don't want to get stung with someone coming in for either or both of them late on leaving us with no time for replacements.
  8. I wouldn't be desperate to sell Martins, 17 goals (whoever they came against) in his first season is a good haul for a young (possibly) player coming into a different culture. Yes his touch and his passing are awful at times but I do believe we can see some improvement (he's never gonna be Zidane) with decent coaching. And with a decent team around him I'm sure he will do better. That said £13m would be a decent profit if he wants to leave and wouldn't be crying over it if we could get Anelka or someone else of that sort of quality in his place.
  9. Think I would have had Roeder and Bramble leaving ahead of Carr. Well Roeder maybe for the good of the club but I really hate Carr more than either of them.
  10. Wouldn't be the worst news if I'm honest. Although with Owen's departure inevitable some time in the next 12 months will have a big goals gap to fill.
  11. This would surpass Roeder & Bramble leaving in terms of good news.
  12. Will he cut it down here do think?
  13. Second Comming is one of the most underrated albums ever. Ten Story Love Song and Love Spreads are both top tunes.
  14. .COM have him at the training ground. (Geremi the player not the porn star of vaugely similar name!)
  15. Might as well keep this thread going as a chance to actually talk about the player instead of a porn star with a dodgy tash!
  16. When you consider the amount of teams who also have 'new money' (us, Portsmouth, West Ham, Citeh, Villa) and how far back their squad is compared to those teams and the likes of Blackburn, Spurs, Everton, Reading, they will have have a lot to do if they want to do anything above the bottom five!
  17. Pace isn't the be all and end all for a centreback (as long as you haven't got two playing who are both slow as fuck). Baresi was still one of the best centrebacks in the world long after he lost his pace.
  18. Anything that would see an end to Carr's Newcastle career would find favour with me like.
  19. For the fullbacks I would like to see two players who can provide good attacking support like Beresford used to. I think it's one of the most important aspects of the fullbacks game these days and I our lack of it has been the main reason why our wingers (particularly on the left) stuggled so badly last season. Our right side (where I would say we have a weaker player in Milner) looked far better when Nobby was supporting there.
  20. Clearly we need two new starting fullbacks. Baines would be good for leftback but I can't think of anyone (realistic) that I would really like to see us go after for rightback. We need at least cover at centreback and I'm not totally convinced with any of our wide players. We could do with someone with that little spark of geinus somewhere in the attack too. Someone like Pedro.
  21. Would be a good free but I can't say I've ever been that impressed with him. Decent enough footballer and a useful adittion to the squad but I don't really see where he would really fit into the starting eleven.
  22. Anyone got any ideas on who they would like to see this money spent on? Regardless of how much we have to spend we aren't going to be able to attract the likes of Kaka or Ronaldhino so we might as well be realistic.
  23. I agree with that. He has no experience as a manager before this season and players will know that. I'm sure they're in a better position to attract players than they were last time they were promoted but the vast majority of their squad isn't premierleague standard (any of their less moronic fans will tell you that) and I can't see them getting enough quality in to do anything more than just barely survive.
  24. Or amybe he might win something and then Laura loves him so much he decides to give him some more! If there's 50 mil on offer now, I'm sure there will be more in the future. But if there is say another 50 next season and Sam has been able to get us back into europe on 30mil then there's 70 next season with the ability to attract better players which is a very appealing proposition! Not going to happen. Big Sam will 50 this season and if he doesn't spend it all, it won't change what he gets next season. It's not like a savings fund. The only thing that will effect how much he gets next season is where the club finishes. You might be right. I would hope he will make sure he knows this for certain though. I just don't want to see us waste money on players who aren't that good just for the sake of it.
