  1. The brioche is an error for any sandwich for my money. Far too sweet. Tbf your sanwich looks pretty good but the choice of mushrooms is clearly flawed. Wrong! The chestnut is a meaty mushroom which just bulked things up nicely. It's a womans choice for fucks sake man. A mans choice would have clearly been a portabello! The Portobello is a pleb's mushroom. I wouldn't even have them in my house. That's because your clearly a fanny, the portabello is a mans mushroom.

  4. ...are we drizzling herb oil on this? Aye, I think so. Tbh wor lass does the cooking. And yes Gem, mozzarella probably works better than brie but I love brie at anytime tbh. Clearly the shear genius of the cheese, mushroom and cucumber baguette is beyond you lot
  5. Grilled Chorizo, peppers, mushroom, onion and cheese (Brie works well) in ciabatta is pretty fantastic. A favourite of mine for work is gratted cheese (cheddar or red leicester), sliced mushrooms (raw) and sliced cucumber in french stick.
  6. Can't beat a waffle and crispy cheese pancake inside half a stottie tbh. Although I had a aribiatta pasta sandwich from Blakes once it was fantastic.
  7. I wonder if this means he's confident over the futures of Owen and Martins?
  8. Well tbh Moore did a job when he was fit, I was hoping for something more than that.
  9. Signed a new contract as well I see. Good news.
  10. Has anyone actually seen this guy play?
  11. The Killing Of A Chinese Bookie - Good story and Ben Gazarra is brilliant but I thought it was poorly paced and they could have cut at least half an hour out of it.
  12. Interesting to note what it says about Sam asking Emre about Tuncay. I know there are quite a few people on the boards who rate him.
  13. Beat you to it but your telly is the official confirmation!
  14. Officially signed now according to the clubs website. Two year deal with an option for a third year. Nowt on Barton yet though.
  15. And on the Dyer Milner thing, I think Milner was one of our best players last season but that comes more from the rest of the team being shite than him being exceptional. As a player he has never performed anywhere near the standard that Dyer was producing under Robson when he really was a top player and tbh I don't see anything in him to suggest he will ever reach that level. That said Dyer was after Chirstmas last season and has a lot of work to do to prove he can get back to an acceptable level let alone the level he was at when he was at his best.
  16. We've paid less for Barton, he can play better in the attacking role that Parker was played in most last season (whether that was his choice or the managers I'm not sure), Parker hasn't really seemed to fully get over the illness he had. That is against Parker not being a twat off the pitch. Personally I think the pro's in our favour out weigh the cons but I do still rate Parker.
  17. I expect lots of rumors like this to fly around and regardless of this posters past I will take it all with a huge pinch of salt until I see some actions. At the minute though I am happy enough to see the end of Roeder, Bramble and the fat man and the apparently immenent signings of Viduka and Barton (and possibly Ben Haim) all before the first week of June is out!
  18. I notice fatty made sure he got more than Hall per share! Greedy bastard.
  19. Believe this when I see it like. Out of interest, how old is he now?
  20. Fantastic news this. With fatty's shares out of the way the rest will quickly fall meaning he will hve complete control and hopefully be able to pump some cash in for transfers very soon. Fuck me the first week of June isn't over yet and we're very close to having our new owner installed and four new players on the horizon. And Bramble has gone. It really doesn't get much better than this!
  21. I agree they would be ahead of him but he would offer a bit more cover (especially since Duff is likely to be out till November). He plays more as a central midfielder now anyway.
  22. I don't think there's any really outstanding candidates tbh. Taylor shows the passion I would like from a captain but he is far too young and raw, Given has the experience but he's not even the most vocal of keepers and personally I would never have a keeper as captain, Nobby is experienced and has captained his national team if I'm not mistaken but I don't think he's going to be a guaranteed starter this season and I don't think he shows the type of agression we need, Butt is another who is quite a quiet bloke really, Owen as others have said selfish by definition in the role he plays and like a keeper I wouldn't really go with a striker as captain, Barton shows the qualities on the pitch I like to see from a captain but we all know about his mental issues. With the players we have at the minute I would say that the above are the candidates and tbh none of them tick all of the boxes. If I had to choose I think it would be between Barton and Butt and it would probably depend on how Allardyce sees there roles next sesaon.
  23. Buy being the key word there! I don't think that simply because something is free we should neccesarily get it. He's no better and would just be a drain on the wage... so what exactly is the benefit in signing an aging average left winger? Be he free or not I agree we shouldn't be signing someone just because they are free but he is a tidy player who could do a decent job filling in on the wing or in the centre. I wouldn't give him a long term contract or big wages and tbh I wouldn't really care less whether we signed him or not. I just think our squad is so thin we could do with padding it out a bit and unless Ashley gets full control and offers a massive transfer fund we are going to need some free transfers to do that.
