  1. So glad this season is over. It's been a complete nightmare from start to finish. I just hope we can start afresh without carrying these problems over to the next regime!
  2. La Haine is fucking class. It's possibly even better than City Of God tbh and that's some praise! Agreed, excellent. What was the purpose of the cow? Fucked if I know. Don't know what the story about the bloke having shite was about either!
  3. It's not good for an attacking midfielder but despite Roeder seemingly wanting to play him that way I've never seen anything to suggest that's what he is. Last season he was excellent as a holding player which is where he should be playing. What about Butt though? Butt has came back into the team and done excellent tbf and he deserves to get the place ahead of Parker at the minute. And for me there is only one place that the two of them should be fighting over (except perhaps if we are playing away against any of the top four). But overall I think Parker is a better a player than Butt.
  4. As is 4 in 45 for Milner, but you don't see him getting criticised for not scoring enough Parker has scored 4 times also btw.. And he most definitely is an attacking midfielder!

  6. Think it looks better than their old one but I agree clubs shouldn't change.
  7. Well I don't think we agree there!
  8. Tevez (even when he couldn't score) has been one of West Ham's best players all season and major factor in them picking up points that could well see them stay up. I'm not saying that if either of the other two go down it's not their own fault bacause it is (I think the whole Tevez thing is a farce anyway, West Ham weren't trying to cheat they have just been caught out making a cock up of the two signings) but if Tevez hadn't been playing West Ham might have struggled more!
  9. Probably a combination of that, playing for a manager who's fucking clueless and getting stick of the crowd every time he spins round in the middle of the park but keeps posession!

  11. Surely long ball football is exactly what the current players (probably Nobby being the exception) are playing!
  12. I would imagine being pissed would add quite a bit to watching something like Team America.
  13. Radiohead are probably the best band on the planet tbh. Kid A and The Bends are two of my favourite ever album with Street Spirit and How To Disapear Completely being two of the most beautiful songs ever. I like all of their albums (and Yorke's solo album) but I do think OK Computer is one of the most overrated albums ever. It's very good but I don't think it's a patch on the two albums they released either side of it (probably because it's something of a half way point between the two sounds). HTTT is still growing on me now and I think it will probably overtake OK as my third favourite.
  14. La Haine - Excellent French film that comes off as almost a cross between City Of God & Boyz In The Hood.
  15. He's trying to deflect blame from himslef for yet again (he did the same with Kluivert) being arrogant enough to beleive we will be in Europe every season and allowing a player to have ridiculous get out clause in his contract. And yet again he's making a complete arse of himself doing this in the press. You couldn't blame Owen from wanting away with the state the club is in and the way the fat man has gone on about trying to prevent him playing for England, although I would be disapointed if he's trying to engineer a move after contributing so little to the club.
  16. If Owen is allowed to go for £9m the fat bastard in charge should be the biggest hate figure for putting such a ridiculous clause in his contract! The shambles this club has been since Owens arrival I couldn't blame him one bit for wanting to leave though!
  17. South Tyneside rather than North but I went to The Green at Whitemare Pool the other day and it was very good. A bit more of an adventurous menu than your average pub and good portions for reasonable prices. Plenty of space and no smoking in the restaurant part at least (think it might be throughout). Recommended.
  18. Exactly. But look at most football clubs and how they are set up in terms of coaching staff. Ever notice the amount of coaches Liverpool have? When they beat Chelsea last week they were all on the pitch afterwords and were celebrating with the players... we honestly have Clark (reserve team coach who shouldn't be near the first team on that basis), Terry Mac (who doesn't even come out for the warm ups), Genoe (GK coach), and the fitness coach who does the warm up routines. I remember Allardyce saying he had 29 members of staff working for him at Bolton, ok maybe it's quality not quantity but surely they would be more prepared than NUFC with our set up. Nutritionists, psychologists, etc. all play there part and even if they only bring out an extra 1% of the players then surely they are worth having. So the fact that Terry Mac doesn't come out for warm ups has led you to deduce we don't have a nutritionist Because we do? And a psychologist? And we use prozone? Don't we? I don't know, and neither do you. 19. Aye that's true, but what worries me is that it is more indicative of the current team itself than failings of the manager. There seem to be an awful lot whose head and heart are not at Newcastle or at least don't seem too fussed about winning. That's one thing that impresses me with Allardyce, he seemed to collect many "older" players who could have been considered as being in the "looking for a last pay-day" bracket, yet they seemed to perform for him. What kind of clubs did these players come from? Big clubs with big expectations. Perhap the key to their success is the fact Bolton were always the plucky over-achievers and Allardyce could use that to motviate them. I don't buy that he magically made them fit again, it's all mental. I doubt that mind-set will fit here. That's a big assumption that appears to made purely on the basis that you don't like him! Observation and suppostition, not assupmtion What's your theory then? I would say that he is able to motivate and coach players into performing to their capacity. I think the available facts support that. I think suggesting it has something to do with the players being at a smaller club (not always the case since he has got performances out of players brought in from smaller clubs or Bolton's youth team to perform as well) and away from the pressure they had been under is just an assumption. We have signed players from bigger clubs than ourselves and their performances haven't matched what they produced at the bigger clubs so I don't think that line of reasoning follows.

  21. 40k a week for his is fucking ridiculous anyway. It's about time we stopped thowing stupid amounts of money at players who aren't good enough to deserve it!
  22. I'm not convinced how pivitol the role of reserve coach is the club anyway. On SSN yesterday they had an article about how the likes of Wenger and Mourinho would like to have their reserve teams playing in the league the same way they do in other contries and they were talking to Gary Ablett who's the bin dippers reserve coach. It made me think that I had never noticed him on the bench for Liverpool games (most if not all of their senior coaches seem to be foreign) the way Clarkie is for us. Let's face it, very few of the senior players get anything other than an occasional run out for the reserves anyway. I'm not saying that we should just let any idiot take charge of the reserves but that if we had a propper first team coaching set up, it possibly shouldn't be such a high profile role!
