  1. Just read on the IMD that George Sanders killed himself in the 70's!
  2. What he did was actually much the same as what Shearer did to the Mancs when we beat them 5-0 (the big difference was we were at home). One question that comes to mind is what he did not worse than taking your top off?
  3. I always get that wrong. It's definitely on TCM either this month or next (I was checking the schedule the other day) if you have sky. It's an excellent film too.
  4. Pedant! I'll rephrase then. Anyone (well some people anyway) who liked the more electronic offerings for Radioheads later albums will enoy it.
  5. You'll be alright with Provident. I did some collecting for them a couple of times and they'll loan money to anyone and you only have to pay back a couple quid a week. Mind you, they take your eyes out with the interest for the privelage!
  6. Any who likes Radioheads' later albums should like the Thom Yorke one.
  7. Waste of money tbh. I bought two new ones (not at the same time). One was good and I never had any problems with it but the other (a Punto) was a right pile of shite and never worked properly from the day I got it. That put me off especially since you can buy older better cars for less and then lose less money on them.
  8. Awesome. Agreed but I think the Hold Steady & Yo La Tengo albums just edge them.
  9. Some great albums that have came out recently that I would recomend. TV On The Radio - Return To Cookie Mountain The Hold Steady - Boys & Girls In America Yo La Tengo - I'm Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass I'm From Barcelona - Let Me Introduce My Friends Califone - Roots & Crowns The Decemberists - The Crane Wife Sean Lennon - Friendly Fire Bonnie Prince Billy - The Letting Go Sparklehorse - Dreamt For Lightyears In The Belly Of A Mountain
  10. I think it's supposed to be canny but I've not heard it. Saw one of their vid's on 120 minutes a while back and it was canny like.
  11. I've heard Shearer will be back at the club in the next couple of weeks as assistant. Don't know how good a source the is (certainly no Kris Akabusi) but it wouldn't surprise me in the least. Before I heard it I was saying that I fully expect to see him in the dugout in one form or another before the end of the season. While I don't see it as the right way forward he might at least be someone the players respect because I don't see them having any for the three monkeys (oops racist) that are in charge at the minute.
  12. George Sanders is the greatest underrated actor ever. I would suggest that you watch The Portrait Of Dorien Gray when it's next on TCM (should be on in the next couple of weeks). He plays a similar character to the on in all about eve but even more so. He's very good in Rebecca too. I agree All About Eve is better than Sunset Boulevard too.
  13. I would say it's a tough call tbh. We're only now seeing Parker play for us in what would be his more natural position/style and he's still recovering from illness. I think we still aren't seeing the best of him. The big worry about Parker at international level is the number of cards he picks up domestically is only likely to be worse with continental ref's.
  14. Sean Lennon - Friendly Fire Excellent pop tunes.
  15. Oswald did it and acted alone I reckon. But I'm not going over this one again so don't go all Bluf on me Oswald was definitely a pasty (cheese I think).
  16. Munich is canny Gem. But it's one of those films that I came out of wondering whether I really liked it or not. I seem to be watching loads of them at the moment. I suppose it's down to me watching films that don't star Arnie!
  17. Dragnet, Big, The Burbs and even A League Of Their Own are all at least very watchable and The Green Mile is another excellent film and performance of his. He's just not the sort of modern day Jimmy Stewart that he's made out to be by some (either in terms of talent or volume of great films he's starred in).
  18. Private Ryan is a superb film and that one with Paul Newman where he's in the mob is very good too (so good that I can't remember the name) but most of his other stuff is just canny. I can't say Hanks is an actor that would make me watch a film (I have absolutely no interest in watching The Terminal even though it's constantly on Sky) but he cetainly doesn't put me off.
