Martins was a bit unlucky yesterday (especially with his last effort which would have been a great goal) and I think he will score goals for us. I just worry that there are quite a few fans who are calling him already. I understand we paid a lot for him but you have to give him some time to settle in. People need to forget about Shearer (fucking hard when they are still getting his name on the back of their new shirts!) and not compare Martins to him. It feels a bit similar to when we got Kitson in after Cole and because he wasn't banging them from day one. Aside from that I thought yesterday was dreadfull and made me realise how far back we've fell since Robson and how little we've moved forward since Souness. There is no pattern to our play and teams do not have to come and play against us because they know we will just gift them chances. I predict another season of long matches at home where any win will be a struggle.

This is why I think Dyer could be very important for us if he ever plays again. His pace and running from midfield would give opposition defences something to think about and create more space for Martins to run into.

Without a doubt Owen but it's no surprise that nearly everyone forgot him. Parker has been our best player for the last two seasons so you have to go for him but has already been mentioned Duff and dare I say Emre have the potential to be our best. Personally I also think Dyer can be our most important player if (and yes I know it's a massive IF) he's ever fit again. I think many people underestimate the influence he had on us when we were flying under Robson (and I mean infulence on the field before anyone starts). Yes his productivity in terms of goals and assists has never been what it should but his pace and movement creates a hell of a lot of oppertunities and most importantly space for others to work in.

I've never really been able to get into any Wil Oldham album much before but I am really enjoying this. Cursed Sleep my favourite song of his next to I See A Darkness.

Only seen the second half of extras but I agree the Bowie song was classic (I was actually humming it for the rest of the night!). The funniest thing I thought though is the fact that on the credits they list the character name as Barry!

What's VLC? I don't ususally use Media Player at all as my music is all on iTunes.

I just finished downloading the latest Soprano's episode that I missed and it has come through as a WMF but when I try to play it I get the following message; "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file." Does anyone know what I need to be able to watch this? This is the first time that I have downloaded anything other than mp3's.
