Oswald did it and acted alone I reckon. But I'm not going over this one again so don't go all Bluf on me Oswald was definitely a pasty (cheese I think). -

Munich is canny Gem. But it's one of those films that I came out of wondering whether I really liked it or not. I seem to be watching loads of them at the moment. I suppose it's down to me watching films that don't star Arnie! -

Dragnet, Big, The Burbs and even A League Of Their Own are all at least very watchable and The Green Mile is another excellent film and performance of his. He's just not the sort of modern day Jimmy Stewart that he's made out to be by some (either in terms of talent or volume of great films he's starred in). -

Private Ryan is a superb film and that one with Paul Newman where he's in the mob is very good too (so good that I can't remember the name) but most of his other stuff is just canny. I can't say Hanks is an actor that would make me watch a film (I have absolutely no interest in watching The Terminal even though it's constantly on Sky) but he cetainly doesn't put me off. -

Me too, it's fucking wank! -
I usually extend my sick days beyond when I am actually sick (in other words if I'm legitimiately off sick I usually take an extra day at the end when I'm really well enough to go in). That said I only do this if I've not got lots on at work and there have plenty of occasions when I have been ill enough to be off on the sick but still gone in becuase I was snowed under.

Not safe for anyone with a weak stomach tbh.

Subtle - For Hero For Fool A rare step into rap (of sorts) for me and I'm suprised how much I'm enjoying it.

I think the mainly spoken vocals on the last album made it difficult to get into at first (with the exception of Hoodrat which was a lot easier). When I listened to it again, I think it was the music that I hooked onto allowing me to get used to vocals a lot more. I agree the lyrics are excellent though. The new album is a lot easier to get into with more traditional singing and more in the way of chorus's that you latch on to.

yeah, 27th May was for an American friend! Emily is pretty straightforward, I wrote the words in my head on the way to Sainsbury's one day. I'd love to be able to sing really well, but at the same time I can take heart from numerous other bands/vocalists who aren't amazing but know how best to use their voice. I think that's my current issue, working out how to use it, and having enough conviction in it. Well I think Jeff Magmun's voice is pretty awfull but his use of it on In An Aeroplane is nothing short of amazing. Colin Melloy's no great shakes either but again he uses it well. I mention those two because they both did come to mind when I was listening to Emily. Don't go thinking your that good mind you

Isn't the bit in the first track when it all drops out and there's a Springsteen-ish moment with just piano great? Aye your right, but Chillout Tent and First night are my favourites so far. Have you heard the standouts from their other albums? Your Little Hoodrat Friend Cattle & The Creeping Things Hostile Mass Killer Parties Most People are DJs Don't Let Me Explode How a Resurrection Really Feels? This is a nice video, too: Love to see them live some day. I listened to Separation Sunday again recently which I quite liked but never really got into last year. I really like Hornets Hornets and Your Little Hoodrat Friend is possibly my favourite of all of their songs. I seem to remember liking Cattle and The Creeping Things too but I can't really remember any of the other songs. I've downloaded so much lately that it's getting pushed back down my to listen to list but Boys & Girls has really got me interested in them so I think I will be listening to more soon.

Oh, and your right about All Fires.

Emily's better than 27th May (which immediately looses points for the use of the word Soccer), I'm worried that I understood what the song was about though. Usually I haven't got a clue so I don't know whether that means there's something wrong with it. The singings not that bad but I must admit the music's better.

The Hold Steady - Boys & Girls In America Steadily climbing up my favourites list for this year.

Ah, but is that Terry from the House Of Love or Terry from East 17? Is anyone else not surprised that Meenzer is the first one on here to know who was in East 17? Ah, but House Of Love too. Totally schizoid tbh. Any Terry's do well in recent Eurovisions? Only the commentator. To be sure.

I felt exactly the same about Swan Lake. All Fires is definitely wonderful though. I'll can't really remember any of the songs off the top of my head other than the one about Rubela. I'll have a listen to it shortly though and let you know what I think.

Wolf Parade are superb and Sunset Rubdown are very good also (especially They Took A Vote) but I'm also very disapointed so far with the Swan Lake album especially after I loved Destroyers album this year. I'm wondering if it's the Frog Eyes influnce is too strong as from what limited amounty I've heard of them sounds quite a bit like SL. Oh and none of them really sound that much like Modest Mouse other then Krug does sound a fair bit like Isaac Brock.
