League Of Gentlemen Apocalypse Not as good as the series but some bloody funny bits and nearly as unsettling. The bit where they take his eyes out is class. -
I read the link wrong and thought we were having an In The Know prediction league and was waiting to see Kris storming it!

We were also taught how to construct a comprehensible sentence. 184179 gets=gits, not the verb, no? 184181 Well done that man. I admit it doesn't work as well on paper as it does when you say it. -

Fucking brillian film. Nicholson and John Huston are both superb! I started watching Dr Strangelove last night. I got about forty minutes in and I am enjoying it but I can't say that I've found much of it funny so far. Obviously there is the 'you can't fight in the war room' line and George C Scott's general character but so far it comes accross a lot more serious than I was expecting. -

I quite like that in a no brain comedy way. But then again I think I'm in a minority who usually enjoys Grants films. -

It's not a film I could watch often but there are some class parts. -

I must watch that again sometime, I think it's one of those that would benefit from another viewing. 'Swimming with Sharks' was on BBC4 last night btw 182475 Kevin Spacy and Frank Whally? -

I finally got round to watching the second half of Barton Fink last night. A hell of a turnaround from the slow pace of the first half. It's not a film I would recommend to everyone but I think anyone who like (especially the early) Cohen brothers films should love it. -
Talking Heads are one of those bands that I must invest more time in. I have the greatest hits for years and love all of the songs on it but so far I've only added Fear of Music and Stop Making sense to it and haven't spent enough time with either. I think I will stick FOM on tonight for the drive home.

I heard about you trying to get Renton to take photos of us all btw! I caught him taking one of me on his mobile, although that may have been for self-pleasure purposes. Doesn't even register on the Renton scale btw. Oh, and Elf is CLASS. 181865 best xmas movie is bad santa - 181868 I haven't seen it but it's not going to beat Scrooge is it lets face it. -

Canny Christmas flick tbh. JF's not in it very much but as Gemmil says he's huge! -

Ooh I might get that too. I haven't seen Swingers. Is it any good? 181828 Aye. Funny how Favreau has been shit in everything since, and Vaughn has been quality. 181839 Have you not seen Elf man! I've meant to get a hold of Swingers for a while, I'll stick it on my mental list. -

I have to admit I've liked everything I've seen Vince Vaughn in and Wedding Crashers was no exception. Dodgeball is my favourite though. -

I got On The Waterfront and Double Indemnity for Christmas but I've only got round to watching OTW so far. I saw Double Indemnity years ago though and it's superb. Edward G is class! -

Big Trouble In Little Chine was on Sky Cinema last night, stone cold classic. Fact! I also watched Willy Wonka on Saturday night. It was canny and no doubt more faithfull to the book but it was just missing something that the original had. I totally failed in my target of watching the rest of Barton Fink and Dr Strangelove -

I think I will try and watch Dr Strangelove over the weekend if I can't get my hands on some lesbo action. -

No I've still not round to watch Dr Stragelove yet (good memory btw). I've put it in a pile of films that I'm working my way through (currently on with Barton Fink) so hopefull if the bairn starts sleeping and I can stay awake long enough on a night I will watch it shortly. I have to admit I don't think I was watching the Shining properly so I might give that another go next time it's on. I just didn't get 2001 (likes 2010 better if I'm honest) and like I said I just found Barry Lyndon (another with Leonard Rossiter in if I remember rightly) sooooo dull. -

I cannot imagine anyone taking BB that seriously. I'll bet you're bitter because you voted her out and she's back. 180519 I don't take it seriously at all but when you're forced to watch something you can't stand to begin with having to see her as well just tips me over the edge. 180532 What do you mean "forced to watch"? Like Alex in Clockwork Orange? 180540 You'd better believe it. Worr lass is a real tyrant! Speaking of Clockwork Orange, what's your opinion of that? It's another one I found extremely overrated but then again I find that with most of Kubrick's films. 180546 I love Kubrick, but think it has aged more poorly than any of his other films. I don't know what I would have thought at the time, but watching it in the 90's it was like a bad 70's English sitcom. 180553 I think that sums it up exactly for me too. Of Kubrick there's only The Killing, Spartacus & the first half of Full Metal Jacket that I have enjoyed. 2001 and The Shining did nothing for me at all and Bary Lyndon is one of the most boring things I've ever seen (well the part of it I watched because I couldn't stand it all). -

Aye, I was a bit baffled by Renton's comments there, but thought that was heading more for the serious conversation than the Friday afternoon piss-take. What did you reckon to Bound? 180522 I was using this definition: film noir n. A movie characterized by low-key lighting, a bleak urban setting, and corrupt, cynical characters. I should have perhaps said comic noir though 180538 There you go being logical. Clearly where you made your first mistake! -

It is indeed, I loved it, the lesbos weren't bad either. Also a big fan of KKBB. 180533 I'll have to check it out. I'll add it to my other lesbo wish list along with Mullholand Drive. -
