  1. Baines all the way for me. FFS he`s a million times better than Babayaro
  2. I`m liking the look of this. Zog playing well in the centre Not too shabby at the back Nice pass and move football Carrol looks a great prospect, certainly puts it about (dont think he should be loaned) Dyer showing his usual composure in front of goal
  3. It will be down to Sam or the board if we sell him before next season. I cant see anyone bidding for him now as he`s injured(surprise there), If he starts banging them in and some of the top 4 get injuries you never know what could happen in Jan
  4. Michael Owen has until Tuesday to activate the get-out clause in his contract, according to former Newcastle United chairman Freddy Shepherd. The striker has a stipulation in his Magpies deal allowing him to leave, if an interested club offer £9.5million. The clause was inserted into the contract signed by Owen upon his arrival from Real Madrid two years ago, but Shepherd says there is a deadline. "Without it, I don't think we would have done the deal, but it is only valid until July 31," Shepherd told the Mail on Sunday. "After that he would have to stay for another year, unless it was in the club's interest to let him go." Owen has endured two injury-hit seasons at St James' Park and missed much of the last campaign with a knee problem suffered while playing for England at the World Cup. Newcastle fought to receive compensation from the Football Association and Shepherd believes the battle was justified. He added: "We needed a top-class replacement when Alan Shearer retired. Owen was the best around, so we set our stall out to get him. "But we lost him before he kicked a ball for us last season. "I took on the FA because I felt it was unfair that England could second a player and then not be responsible for paying his wages if he got injured." FROM skysports.com Cant see him going back on his word now, he would look a bit of a tit if he did
  5. The curse of Roeder. Might have a tenner on the Arsenal to go down if this happens If Kev comes back as a D O F and helps BS in the transfer market by negotiating deals etc I think it would be a positive move providing he keeps his beak out of team selections and transfer targets
  6. It wasnt a calf injury but a grade 2 hamstring tear, which is serious injury. When was he given a fair crack by Roeder?.
  7. Sam reckons Luque has never properly recovered from his hamstring tear, which was pretty serious. Says a lot about our previous regime IMO.Hope he pushes on and does what he did for Depo
  8. Judging by our progress in the transfer market Im bloody glad he`s staying as we would have struggled to get anything like him. I think he will push on this season under a proper manager too.
  9. But its swings & roundabouts isnt it?. The clubs who are buying will proberbly be selling too(except Sunderland cos no-one would want their players).
  10. You can see why Spurs want him, Obviously 12 midfielders isnt enough. In Dyers favour tho` he`s not used to playing many games so should fit right in.
  11. Why do people keep throwing Solano & Geremi into the right back debate, Neither of them are right backs. Nol played there for us cos Carr was injured/shit and Geremi did the same for Chelsea. We should`nt be settling for "make do`s" if we are going to break the top six. I agree LB is a position we need to fill and no way should Baba or Carr be even second choice.
  12. I will piss my pants when West Ham are mid table after splashing the cash, The new Leeds without the champions league
  13. Bloody hell TWELVE YEARS is a long time Do you have to pay upfront?
  14. You cant buy 1 game. It says on the web site no annual contract & £9.99 per month but if you read the T&C`s it says minimum 12 month contract, Needless to say I gave it a miss.
  15. Luke Young has completed his move to the smoggies. He is 28 He is six foot He is a right back He has premiership experience He has played for England He has moved to the north east What do we want, sugar on top?? Missed out here I think.......Never mind we`ve got Carr
  16. I cant see bigger clubs (ie top 4) in the Prem going for the same players we want, with the exeption of ben-haim(enjoy his season on Chelsea`s bench).
  17. Could our lack of success in the market be down to an inexperienced board who have no contacts in football. it looks like BS is giving the names he wants then the deals are breaking down. I find it hard to swallow that we have had numerous bids accepted but none have come to fruition
  18. Royston Drenthe from Feyenoord might be a good signing. He looks quick, can beat a man and has a few tricks too. Pretty two footed as well.
  19. I think Dyer has realised he wont be that far up the pecking order. I think Solano/Milner will be first choice on the right. Butt/Emre/Barton will be 2 from 3 and he wont get a sniff up front with Owen/Vid/Oba. I reckon we need a solid, big centre mid player and a winger who can play either flank. Gravesson or Bouba-diop (if we cant attract any big names) but I would be tempted to break the bank for SWP, Ian Wright said on talk sport he would have fancied a return to city if Sven wasnt there so there may be a slight chance to land him.
  20. Different club Same old Titus At least he`s consistant
  21. SSN have just reported Baines will not be joining sunderland
  22. Martins would have had a full pre-eason and Owen has been injured (again) thats my only reason. I would have plumped for both in a 4-3-3 if Barton was fit
  23. If we dont sign any more defenders, which I consider a disaster if we dont I would start with this team Given Geremi Taylor Rozenhal Hunty Solano Butt Emre Milner Martins Viduka
  24. Bognor Regis Crawley(unless you are a chav/drug dealer/muslim) Leigh Park (near Pompey) Bolton Wigan Staines Slough Preston
  25. They could "do the job" but neither of them are right backs. We shouldnt be in a position where players are playing out of position unless injurys force them to. FFS we have money to spend, I really dont understand what the problems are
