  1. Exactly. Ben Arfa is a player you build a team around. He should not be exempt of criticism but i hate this nonsense that every player should get treated the same. Ben Arfa has more footballing ability in his little toe than the whole lot of Simpson, Ameobi, Taylor, Obertan etc combined. And because of that should get treatment worth his talent. You should try to get the best out of this kind of player for the better of the team. It might not work out, but I haven't seen it given a real try yet and Ben Arfa given a fair amount of chances.
  2. I'd be surprised if Ben Arfa is still here next season, Pardew doesn't like keeping things in house does he? I thought there was absolutely no need for him to come out in public and say Benny hasn't really grasped English football yet. He was only playing 4 weeks of 10/11 and minus injuries 4 months this season. I think he just doesn't fancy him. Pards likes attacking football which is a positive, but the way he plays the side means the players can be as attacking as they like, as long as they work like fuck, in my view Pards thinks the penny will never fully drop with Benny, and he'll be away by July. That's my prediction. The game was exactly like I said it would be, it's humiliating losing 5-0, but completely expected with a centre midfield containing two Watford level players. Perch, I mean it wasn't like he was doing complicated things wrong, FIVE YARD passes, TEN YARD passes and he couldn't dee it. Guthrie it's a shame cos he's got reasonable technique, but hes too slow and thinks too slow, against players like Modric and Krancjar who are so good they know which passes they are making before the ball is even at their feet, well it was fucking obvious, people saying we had a chance are just deluded. The fact is the squad is not big enough, we need someone to compete with Cabaye and Tiote, are we a big enough club to have decent competition for places? We should be. Are you sure about that? Our football under Pardew seems very efficient, but I can't really say there's any indications there about him liking to play attacking football. Must be frustrating for the likes of Cabaye tbh, getting lured to Newcastle by the promise to change the style the team plays only to get taught hoofball in the end
  3. Great result, really lucky though. Excellent league position. I lost count how many times this season we have been extremely poor but very lucky. It's also the reason why I remain very sceptical about Pardew because I dread the day our luck wears out.
  4. Perch for Ben Arfa with Ameobi staying on? Seriously, Pardew should get done for crime against football.
  5. Still got about 9 in 17 this season didn't he? 7 in the first 9 games, don't get me wrong, he is a good player when he is on top of his form
  6. Good Player, was heavily linked with a move to Bayern here. He was fantastic last season. He started to struggle a bit, probably Freiburg were relying on him a bit too much. If he adapts to English football and rediscovers his best form he will be a big step up from hardly Best and Shola.
  7. Just enough to get them through ahead of Ajax. Hmmmmm... With two good Ajax goals disallowed. Party in Café King in Berlin perhaps?
  8. If true, it has to be intentional, because nobody can be so stupid.
  9. And in next week's news Lambiarse will probably complain again about fans being mean to poor Mikey boy...
  10. Baggio, HTT and CT - now there is a brain cell well shared...
  11. In short, the FA are doing everything possible to display the poppy except wear it on the shirt. Up yours Blatter.... So it's more a message to FIFA as to remember fallen soldiers. Don't know how this goes with the original idea of the poppy... It probably gives Mike and Dekka hundreds of new ideas how to exploit the Sports direct logo... and btw - evading conspription was a criminal offence in Germany. Don't know what was more comfortable - a winter in Stalingrad or a prison run by the Gestapo...
  12. Oooh that was grown up and insightful Maybe it isn't Ashely hate that's the problem, it is in fact the blind, unequivocal man love for KK Hey it's fine to slag the club off for being "petty" but when a potential reason, that maybe, just maybe, doesn't fit the "collective" argument it's baby-toys time. Pathetic Ironic when the cited "reason" is baby-toys stuff in itself...
  13. Q9: "I’d like to make a further point here. This club can’t support itself without the financial backing of Mike Ashley; we still rely heavily on the owner. To date Mike has invested over £280m into the club, including £140m in interest-free loans. For him to continue to support the club, he has to be interested and enthused to do so. He deserves credit for his financial support but a section of supporters don’t make him feel welcome at St James’ Park, or when he attends away games. Criticism is part and parcel of the job, abuse is not. This makes life uncomfortable and certainly doesn’t make Mike feel more inclined to put his hand once again in his pocket. That’s not stubbornness, it’s human nature. I think most of us would feel exactly the same."
  14. See Deano people ease up and offer good advice once you've had your flounce and take it on the chin, and aye register another domain name (they're ultra cheap anyway above the price of a decent pizza) makes all the difference having something easy to remember and shorter the better generally. I remember years ago when i was 16 doing websites for beer money, was asked to do a site for a lad who sold dvds and the like, eCommerace job shopping cart etc, was around the time of the big .com surge and was all the rage. Fellas website i shit you not he wanted Games-Software-Multimedia-Entertainment.whatever As said ditch the moonfruit thing, you'd be better off getting a sharp looking freebie wordpress template and using that sort've blog style software since it's going be fairly static pages with maybe a gallery of your work on it, be much easier to maintain as well. (if you get stuck i can give you access to some test blog style apps like wordpress you can dick about on before you buy that kinda hosting off someone) phil knows at least somewhat what he's talking about wrt web marketing, this lad doesn't if that was aimed at me it was spectacularly stupid considering what i do and the size of the projects i work on We want wages!
  15. I would work on a pay as you advise deal too...
  16. At least you're good at digging holes...
  17. What, no "facts" this time? This PR lady they hired is really worth her money.
  18. Good for you. Without my crystal ball and in need of the certain amount of empirical evidence I can only make a posteriori judgements. I only know what I am thinking without knowing if this thinking is right or wrong yet. So my thinking - i.e. that we have signed good players - might prove itself wrong in the future. I will only be right then regarding my reservations about the empirical conditions which won't be anything to be happy about and won't win me any bragging rights. I don't need to cop-out of anything because it won't be giving me any pleasure. I'll leave that to sniffer and Leazes.
  19. Football is a result and performance related industry though. History counts for nothing if it doesn't prove itself on the pitch. There are far too many uncertain conditions too make early or a prioru judgements, all you can do is making assumptions or predicitions based on what you know so far. I'm pleased so far with the potential quality of players we have signed and think with the addition of a decent striker and with the help of a creative talent as Ben Arfa and without too much (more) bad luck with injuries we can have a decent maybe even very good season. I don't know it yet though.
  20. Yes, I remember reading something along these lines by some Kant...
