1. The thing is, how many young English managers really have proven themselves to be capable of taking over a big club or the national team. It's the same with Newcastle, isn't it? From those English/British managers mentioned Allardyce probably sounds most promising as he seems a bit progressive. O'Neill has a good name, too. But else? The Courbishleys, Pearces, McClarens et al aren't really the cream of the crop of managers.
2. Anyone else see this as a dig at Allardyce, i.e. "you won't be fucking well here next season, you big lipped fish!"? 128375 Erm, is this my lack of knowledge regarding English grammar or does this "all Roeder would say" mean that Oliver is putting words into Roeder's mouth to make them look like original quotes?
3. Even by Anal's low standards the shite he has been spouting in recent days is unbelievable. Today's master piece: http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcast...-name_page.html
4. It is all bollocks anyway because we will get a patchwork managment. Martin O'Neill, Claudio Ranieri, Roberto Mancini, Gerard Houllier, Glenn Roeder and Henk ten Cate have already been appointed (nine times) and will also form a flat-sharing community.
5. I rather would like to see Shearer coming out saying "Yes, I'm interested in managing Newcastle some day, but first want to have a go at a smaller club to work my way up in managment as it would be too big a risk right to start in the Premierleague for an unproven manager as me."

Emre

I don't think Emre is a bad player and it is well worth keeping him. But he isn't irreplaceable especially as initial fears regarding his injury record turned out to be justified. So yes, if a team pays us a substantial fee above what we paid for him then I would have no problem in selling him.
7. Supermac has claimed on several occasions that Roeder started to do the course and only needs to do one more full day to complete. No confirmation of this from the club, but he's mentioned it a few times. 127810 Im sure I read somewhere on here that he would have to do the full course again though? 127813 Aye apparently he can't just do a top-up. Has to start again in June '06 and wouldn't finish til July '07. 127821 Hmm, yesterday were 19 places left, today it's only 18... Here is what the course is about: http://falearning.thefa.com/docent/bin/doc...ivity.jsm&ID=17
8. The inappropriate use of the - smilie should be a bannable offence.
9. They made themselves a name for operations and reconstructions of cruciate ligaments, but the clinic itself is specialiced on all kind of sports (i.e. musle, ligament) injuries.
10. He hasn't turned up drunk at training enough for my liking tbh. 127394 Just because Jorman beer is better tbh. Nah, I've already said a couple of weeks ago that I would give Moore a chance instead of Boumsong. I still can't see him do better than average especially when getting tested by the likes of Robben et al...
11. I agree with the 5-4, fantastic game of football, but my memory of the Cup final was that they did fuck all for 85 odd minutes, should have been beaten soundly, should have had a blatant penalty against them, and them Owen nipped in for 2 quick goals, without any decent football being played. 127324 Well, if my memory serves me correct my Liverpool-loving Irish mate showed me a fake police report a couple of days later, that looked something like "Theft of silverware in Cardiff, young Scouser accused of nicking a cup" or something like that.
12. Especially as the Smoggies have to play 3 games in 6 days. They probably will field a stiffs-selection. I also don't think we will get more than 2 points from the last two games. IMHO with any luck we will get 7th place.
13. Hey Geordie boy Gemmill, you cannot talk about Geordie boys Alan Shearer and Alan Oliver in this way. It is totally disrespectful. You should take Geordie boy Lee Clark's as an example who is a great pro and would love nothing more than working for his home town club under his colleague Geordie boy Alan Shearer. Anyway I don't buy all this manager talk because as I understand Mancini is house hunting in Newcastle anyway.
14. I've to admit that I'm moore than pleasantly surprised. He is doing fine and I hope he continues this way. He clearly has some leading abilities at the back and that is what we were lacking recently. But I am still cautious about him being a long term solution. I cannot forget what he looked like when he was playing here in Jormany. He is struggling against tricky and pacey strikers. When this happens he just resorts to kicking after opposition players which leads to a serious amount of free kicks, penalties and bookings. A bit like the Craig Moore we saw against Charlton...
15. There's a world of difference between hitting the target and hitting a good penalty. As AF said, the whole 'technique doesn't matter' idea is complete bollocks. 126598 So are you saying Jorman players are technically gifted?
16. There is no excuse for this kind of behaviour. But there are tossers among every set of fans. What would the SOL look like after Newcastle playing a semifinal there?
17. Oi, watch out for my mobile...
18. I think it's the 2nd floor. It's upstairs anyway and is called Eldon Leisure I think. 126141 What kind of surface is it? I think I have to give it a miss due to my dodgy ligaments. 126146 Erm, school gymnasium surface 126147 Oh well. But we still could do a penalty shoot out...

20. Players injured, retired, not playing: Owen, Dyer, Shearer, Bowyer, Emre, Boumsong, Luque, Taylor, Ramage Attempts on goal 11-1; Score 2-0 Are you (and lady luck) watching, Graeme Souness?
21. Well, it looks llike I arrive in England (i.e. Boremingham) just the monday before, so I can't say for definite, but I think I may be able to make it.
22. If they drop Makelele, they won't win the league IMO. Him and Terry have easily been their best players this season. I don't understand the signing of Ballack. He's too similar to Lampard. Wonder if I'll have to be a Barca fan next year after all? 125695 I do find it strange, too. I am not sure if Ballack will be a success. But the fact that he might not be seen as the messiah in the team could suit him. And if he learns to stop his moaning and diving it will suit our national team as well...
