In my opinion this was always going to be our toughest test yet this season. At least the weather has been fine and pitch in good shape but for alot of these players, playing at blackpool could be playing on mars for what they are used too! We are in good form, confidence is high and the team spirit as strong as its ever been. That was my only problem with that line-up. I rate Guthrie, but i think our engine room would be stronger with JB and AS in the middle...Dont really think he's a right winger neither so id probably say rotate with with the two in midfield.

Watching that back we've played some pretty good football! Guthrie and Raylors goals are brilliant!

Another good performance and win. We weren't majestic or alike but we were busy and industrious. All battled well especially the likes of smith, ranger, simpson and enrique. Our two central defenders coped well and deserved their 5th consecutive clean sheet minus a rick from each one of which could of gave a penalty away and the other lead to smiths dismissal which i dont blame him for. We still lack creativity and guile in midfield and pace upfront but we are getting by with sheer grit and determination. Who would of thought 6 games in we would of took 7 points from 9 away including 2 games against supposed strong promotion challengers and 9 from 9 at home with a threadbare squad! Things are lookin good, come christmas and we will have a good idea where we stand but im confident we will win this league!

See when kk signed guthrie he said he had the potential to be like rob lee, a tall order to follow. Lee used the ball very well and chipped in with a few goals too, guthrie does show glimpses of that promise but to get anywhere near that he needs a good run in the side. Something i dont think CH would have the balls to do...he needs a good manager to nurture him.

centre midfield is the only position where we have strength in depth. and ZERO quality! Barton is good. Guthrie will do well that this level. Smith has impressed so far and thats not forgetting Nicky Fucking Butt (ok, ill give you that one) and Kevin Nolan. Hamman would be an unnecessary addition in my opinion. Barton is box to box and the best passer we have but the rest are no more than industrious. Not an ounce of guile and creativity which i would call 'quality'. A midfield pairing of barton and smith would suffice but we would do so much better with a ball player in there...hamman would fit the bill temporarily but if a takeover is completed id love to see skjelbred here.

Its a well documented FACT we need to strengthen the squad isnt it? So if the take over collapses MA would HAVE to protect his investment by re-investing...maybe with some of the money he raked in? Its no joke...its fact!

We were linked with huseklepp last week i think? Apparently big al was having him watched? Him and skjelbred. Both would be good signings and would get change on 10mil...MA WONT pay that though so lets hope a takeover is pushed through.

Even though we looked decent yesterday it was still evident that with the exception of Jonas we lack any sort of pace in the side. I just cant see with the likes of N'Zogbia and Martins gone where its going to come from on the wings and upfront. Lets say MA is going to spend a bit IF he stays or should we be taken over, just who is out there and promising enough to provide the legs we need?

This league is anything BUT a walk in the park. Its going to be a long gruelling campaign with highs and lows, but that being said i am confident we will bounce back up but it wont be easy. Just worry about hughton being able (or not) to motivate some of the lads on a cold away day to blackpool.

Mixed feelings really, on one hand id let him go (loan would be a good idea) but on the other i think he could come good with a little confidence. Not to mention the squad size already!

Would be a great signing fit or not fit. His experience would be of massive value in the squad no less to the likes of taylor (who i think will stay) and more so the young lads kadar, tozer and morris.
