  1. No doubt it will be tough, but i really think we'll scrape it 2-1
  2. What sort of a club would employ a manager with a history of heart problems who hadn't worked in the premier league in years? Im sure there one around here somewhere
  3. Yep, Oba and Lovenkrands to start, and one makes room for Viduka in the second half once the Everton boys are a bit more tired. I'd feel better about our defence if we had Habib back ... Sounds good to me mate, and while i agree about beye, im quite interested to see how r.taylor is going to do...i think he mite just turn out to be a tremendous signing for us. Do you think r.taylor will switch to LB when beye is back?
  4. Id love to see oba and lovenkrands upfront, that would be my choice but i dont think we'll see it. Butt obviously shouldnt be in the side but we have no choice.
  5. I know its a week away yet but with us not being in action id thought id get this going early. I think even though Everton are having a great season and we are in contrast having a shite season, its worth noting we havnt lost at home to blue side of liverpool since the 2000/2001 season. With gutierrez and martins back i think we will have that extra bit pace we have lacked recently, especially from oba. This game could be a massive turning point in our season, following on from a gritty win aganst WBA to beat one of the better sides in the league could set us up well for games against bolton and the big boys at st.james. Im thinking we'll go with the following side and win 2-1...martins getting a goal on his return and gutierrez chipping in with a goal after scoring for the argies. ---Harper--- ---R.Taylor---Coloccini---Bassong---Enrique--- ---Gutierrez---Nolan---Butt---Duff--- ---Ameobi---Martins--- Come on boyz do it for JFK
  6. Alex would you want Duff to stay as back up if we got another LW? I think i would tbh...iv been critical of him lately and think its justified but he has upped his game last couple of games so maybe we could yet see the best of him? I would definatly rather go get a new LW though iih.
  7. Butt is shit, simple as that. KD you talk some shit like...Nolan 4th choice? Hahahaha honestly you couldnt make it up Nolan and Guthrie to run the season in....Nolan and Barton to start next season, unless we get a real gem of a creative midfielder then id let Barton go. Butt like Geremi and Cacapa should be NOWHERE near the 1st team unless its an emergency. I have NO faith in any of them three. I wasn't saying Butt isn't shit. You missed Steven Taylor off your list btw. I was agreeing with you alex, more so aimed at KD. NNN i dont talk shite tho mate, i just have a contrasting opinion to others!
  8. Tbf to gutierrez, hes a good player in a shite side. Against ManUre 1st game of the season he was outstanding, and he has still producted his high octain performances. I agree there is a lack of end product but that will come. Remember he got over 20 assists last season?

  10. yes cos thats so much more likely to happen We all bang on about the club showing a lack of ambition...steve fuckin bruce ffs! End of the season id be going for alan shearer or gerard houllier. Both bring different things to the club. Shearer as the icon figure could have the same effect as KK did, he's a big personality and wouldnt be undermined. Could end the worries about Wise pulling the strings. Then again it could be a non starter. Houllier would bring ALOT of PL management experience, great man management skills, tactically adept and has an eye for spotting talent. I think he'd be interested.
  11. Nothing to get excited about at all tbh. No quotes. Re-hashed poor journalism imo. Dont like the bloke. Dont think he's done ANYTHING of note. Id rather go for Houllier.
  12. We have put up with the shit that is Nicky Butt all season, giving penalties away, losing possesion and generally being gash. Not what you expect from a multiple honour winner at ManUre and an experienced head. We will most likely see a pairing of him and Nolan for a few weeks yet, though Hughton has said Guthrie should return against Bolton. Does this mean Butt will be dropped? I certainly hope so, but i just cant see it. I dont think any of them have the balls to drop Butt, even though he is evidently one of the key liabilities in the side. I for one would like to see Nolan and Guthrie in the middle till the end of the season, or until Barton can be reintroduced. I cant see us getting BIG results whilst nicky butt is in the side.
  13. Have you seen anything of vuckic mate? I canf find much about his although he is highly rated? Same with Adjei. Tozer has alot to do though i think kadar, krul, lualua and ranger are the four we'll see most of next season. Aaron Spear...did we actually sign him? Oh and besty...my mistake. Some bloke from his hometown was banging on about him (Vuckic). He's got that kind of good player name as well. Haha i know what u mean, he's a one id sing on FM because his name sounds good! LuaLua should be gettin more of a chance like.

  15. We seem to be builing a pretty decent lookin crop of young talent, im wonder what you guys think or expect from each of them whether it be getting a chance soon or going out on loan or what not. Krul: Showed MASSIVE potential against Palermo, got some good 1st team experience on loan and i imagine he is 2nd choice from now on in. Should get a few cup outings next year. Forster: Closest competitor to Krul from the number 2 spot in the GK department, been decent for reserves. Soderberg: Tall and agile although iv not seen a great deal of him, could probably do with a year in the reserves or a loan to a Fizzy pop side or league one. Kadar: Solid and competant at LB and CB, if he can shake off the injuries id expect him to be pushing R.Taylor and Enrique at LB next season whilst holding down his reserve team spot. Tozer: Needs to push on and firmly establish himself in reserve team, maybe a loan out to a championship side is what is needed. LuaLua: Has to be in the 1st team plans, whether it be on the bench or in the full squad. Tricky, pacey and technically adept...baulk up and he can be in with a chance next season. Inman: Looks very good on the ball, likes to spread the passes about and has a good engine, needs to knuckle down a reserve team spot next season to be in with a shout the following season. Promising. Godsmark: Quick, busy and gets a few assists, done well for reserves, needs to keep up the good work in second string and should probably get a few cup outings next season. Baheng: Promising before injury, needs to push hard once recovering and nail down his place in the reserves, again should get a few cup games next year. Vuckic: Young and apparently very talented, only time will tell whether he gets a 2nd string birth or is eased in through the youth side. See how he gets on next season. Ranger: Been knocking in the goals for reserve and youth side...20 in total this season, certainly looks good infront of goal. Should continue in reserves next season and given a few 1st team outings. Like LuaLua, needs to baulk up a bit. Adjei: Admittedly hopes to be involved in 1st team action in two years, this lad is thought to be very decent, i imagine he'll start off in the youth side end of this season, reserve team next year and see how he gets on. Have i missed any out? Im not sure if that young south american has signed or is training with the reserves or youth team? Team in 2013??? ---Krul--- R.Taylor---Coloccini---Bassong---Kadar Gutierrez---LuaLua---Inman---Godsmark Martins---Ranger
  16. Kadar looks a canny one like, i too have seen him a few times and agree he is more comfortable at LB, competent on the ball, good passer and solid in a tackle, i know its reserve standard but from the likes of LuaLua and Ranger he is the closest thing from the reserves to getting a chance in the 1st team. Next season could see him as back up to R.Taylor and Enrique at LB. Zamblera...i know, it all sounded very positive at the time, but just didnt do anything whilst he was here, whther it be lack of guidance or failure to settle, he's now got a chance back in italy, lets see if he can bag a few goals and see what he is made of. That Wesley Ngo Baheng looked a good player before he fucked his leg, powerful, good feet and good finisher, id quite like him to get a run out next year. Kadar, LuaLua and Baheng to be promoted next season. Tozer hasnt done much in reserves has he? What ever happened with Aaron Spear?
  17. Tbh i would love to see a front two or martins and owen next season, and although i think its 80/20 that Owen will go i still have hope that something will happen and he will stay. If he does go then its not the end of the world either, we would be relieving ourselves of a hefty 110k a week wage and the worry of him being sidelined for long spells. If come the start of next season we are left to choose from...Martins, Smith, Carroll and Strola id be worried. Theres only 20 goals in all of them put together in my opinion. Out of those four id put faith in Martins and Smith, i think smudger will come good eventually, he just needs his 1st goal. Carrol i think is a good back up and will grow next season, but Strola is the biggest issue, i really cant stand the bloke yet i dont think there is ANY chance of him leaving tbh. That being said we could and should go out and get a 15-20 goals a season striker to play with Oba, my choice would be Mario Gomez, then we'd have three strikers as back up.
  18. I honestly think there will be about 25mil to spend in the summer, and AS could be what we need to persuade MO to stay. He'd have a decent squad to work with and as for the system, i do believe MA and DL have realised there mistakes. Wise could not undermine AS ever, so it would be a good way to establish and maintain DW role at the club and limit him to just searching for players and watching the one's AS would suggest. I think its possible tbh.
  19. With this talk of JFK needing surgery we are going to be left with Hughton and Calderwood in charge for the remainder of the season. Although i wish JFK a speedy recovery this could be a blessing in disguise. Get to the end of the season safely and appoint Big Al in the close season. I think the time would be right with MA trying to clear the air. Big Al would take is forward!
  20. He went on the last day of the transfer window, on loan with a view to a permanent deal I didnt hear anything about this tbf...mustn't of been cutting it in the reserves then.
  21. Mixed feelings about it all, i think some of it we wanted to here, but i find myself being maybe a bit cynical and thinking he is just saying that for that reason. I would like it to be true, that they realised there failings, that they are going to make ALOT more effort to communicate and be honest. And MA spending in the summer although he quoted 8 mil in the bank, you have to remember we are still making a loss, but a progressive lesser loss than last season. We have PL money and TV money to come in and big earners leaving in the summer (OWEN, VIDUKA, GEREMI, CACAPA) so surely there will be a decent amount to spend. Only time will tell whether we have turned the corner, whether they are going to take us in the correct direction. Fingers crossed eh.
  22. Totally 100% agree, the whole point of having a reserve team and youth academy is to groom and prepare the lads for the next step. Which is to the 1st team squad. LuaLua has made a few bench appearances and i agree with KD that although the boy has talent in abundance he needs to stock up on the chicken and hammer the weights. He's too soft. That being said i think when we have been to flat and ridged at times he would have provided a great tonic in our midfield, players wouldnt be able to handle his trickery and boy has he got an eye for goal. He could, should he baulk up, and get a good run in the side, end up becoming what we need in CM. It was also good to see Xisco get a couple, he worked hard, showed a few good touches and took his goals well, quite easily would be in the side infront of strola. We are slowly building a talented reserve of young players, locally and from abroad, it would be nice to see either this season once safe or next season the likes of Kadar, Tozer, LuaLua, Godsmark, Ranger, Zamblera and Baheng get a few chances.
  23. Newcastle United finish 11th at the end of the season. Mike Ashley sits down with NUSC and speaks with the fans, listens to our views, states he has made mistakes, and next season will be an improvement Ten-fold. Bassong will get NUFC player of the season, Enrique will continue to improve, Duff will finish the season having the best one in a black and white shirt. A combination of Martins and Owen/Lovenkrands will strike up a good partnership and fire in the goals that keeps us safe. Gutierrez will score his 1st goal for the club before the end of the season, as too will Nolan and R.Taylor. Once the season has finished we will see Wise and JFK leave the club. The ONE and ONLY Alan Shearer will take the reigns. Geremi, Cacapa, Barton and Viduka will leave. Owen will be persauded to sign a 2 year contract with a "Non european qualification" release clause. We will bring in CB, LW, ST......ALL as backups to there 1st team equivelents. If Kadar and Tozer can make the step up then maybe LB wont be needed as we will have R.Taylor there and Enrique in reserve. An experienced CB is a must to work with Taylor and Edgar and aid the rapid growth of Bassong and maybe help Colo settle. LW and essential to rotate with Duff (Joe Ledley maybe?) And a striker, should Owen stay then him and Oba will the the main pairing, with Strola,Lovenkrands, Carroll and Smith in reserve. Carroll looking impressive is worthing of a squad place, smith for his versatility and shola who i'd like to see leave but i doubt it. We'll Start the season with... ---Harper--- Beye---Coloccini---Bassong---R.Taylor Jonas---Johnson*---Nolan---Duff Martins---Owen Subs: Krul, Enrique, CB, LW, Guthrie, ST, Lovenkrands Waiting in the wings: Kadar, Tozer, LuaLua, Ranger 6th Place finish next season.... This is a DREAM But dreams can come true, if you really want them too!
  24. If spurs went down i swear id piss myself with laughter....i truely hate them cockney fucks! More so after danny b graced the board.
