I agree about the balance in previous teams. But dont you think with a fully fit squad we COULD have some sort of balance? Jonas Barton Nolan Duff I mean we have genuine danger on the right with Jonas, and if Duff can build on his for against WBA i'd say we have genuine danger down the left too. With R.Taylor supporting Jonas and the right and Enrique supporting on the left i think our flanks will get stronger and stronger. In the middle you talk about balance, a player who can pull the strings and a player who can pick teams apart and break up play. Yet both need to be able to do both jobs, just both predominantly having opposing priorities to there game. Barton and Nolan are both busy box to box midfielders, Barton having a slightly more expansive range of passes but no midfield maestro. I still think that midfield is a very strong one, and i do rate Barton but if we can get our money back in the summer id quite happily let him go, ONLY if we get someone like M.Johnson or Skjelbred in before who can spray the passes. All in all we have the makings of a good side, with a little more luck, the removal of Butt from the side and a confident tactically adept manager and we still can go places.

They are building something special. Villa for the champions league!!?!?!
-
Nailed on draw in my opinion. We'll be in the bottom 3 come sunday night. HAHA what was that?

Get the fuck in!!! I was shitting it second half, we were gash, when you rely on the experience of Butt put his foot on the ball, slow the game down and knock it abaout, he was the biggest culprit today. Great 3 points, turning point for sure...we are going to have nearly a full strength team for everton at home!! Harper...7 Should of done better for there 2nd Enrique...7 Done well, wasteful at times tho S.Taylor...7 Important goal, at fault for there 1st, indifferent Bassong...7 Not his best game, but done nothing wrong Coloccini...6 Liability, needs to improve R.Taylor...8 Great debut, excellant 1st half, quieter 2nd Duff...8 Best game for us EVER Butt...5 Sick of this cunt Nolan...7 Busy, contained himself to much in 2nd half though Lovenkrands...8 Very good game, good movement and has a strikers eye Shola...5 Sick of this cunt Excellant 1st half, shite second but VERY valuable 3 points....up to 13th Looking forward to Everton at home when we will see.... Harper R.Taylor---Coloccini---Bassong---Enrique Gutierrez---Nolan---Butt----Duff Martins---Viduka Id rather Smith was in there instead of Butt...
-
Haha about time Gemmill mate....positivity pays though bud
-
Great going forward, particular credit to Ryan Taylor who has been outstanding, Lovenkrands another who has be great, Duff has done well and Nolan solid! Defensively we do look a bit suspect...coloccini and but have been poor. Shola off, Smith on....tighten it up and look for one more! Come on boys..... Take a bow Alex.....i knew i should of been negative....oh wait? whats that alex? we gonna get beat 4-3?
-
I kind of agree KD but Lovenkrands hasnt much pitch time for a long time where as R.Taylor and S.Taylor have PL experience in abundance, had S.Taylor not played so well against the mackems at RB id of 100% went along with you idea. But without Gutierrez id rather a player who predominantly plays down the right play there instead of Lovenkrands who is normally left sided?

Should results go our way and we win 2-0 today, tonight we could be sittin 12th and a breathing a little...il reiterate a LITTLE bit easier. Manchester City v Middlesbrough...Score draw Wigan Athletic v Fulham...Home win Everton v Bolton...Home win Sunderland v Stoke City...Away win West Bromwich Albion v Newcastle United...Away win Portsmouth v Liverpool...Away win Chelsea v Hull City....Home win Sun: Tottenham v Arsenal...Away win ---------------- Should the above happen the we will be 12th tonight sitting on 27pts, along with Sunderland, Stoke and Bolton and 3 points ahead of Spurs and Pompey. Whilst it still remains to be tight, opening a 3 point gap on pompey and spurs would be a great bonus today and we can maybe look ahead rather than behind as we'd be 1 pts behind Hull, 2pts behind Citeh and Fulham who occupy 9th. Win today, onwards and upwards!

I shouldnt.....but i agree

Hughton mite play 4-3-3???

SkySports have got these as the possible lineups.... Possible starting XIs West Brom: Carson, Hoefkens, Donk, Meite, Robinson, Menseguez, Koren, Valero, Brunt, Bednar, Fortune. Newcastle: Harper, Enrique, Bassong, Coloccini, S Taylor, R Taylor, Duff, Nolan, Geremi, Martins, Ameobi. Whats wrong with Butt? I dont rate Butt though id have him in there instead of Geremi ffs! Should Colo be fit then i would go with that side only with Butt the only change, Steven Taylor done well at RB last weekend so id give him another shout and give Ryan Taylor a go on the right flank. Hopefully Oba will start up front with shola, the two could strike up a good partnership though i'd like to see Smith or Viduka instead of Shola... My line up... Harper S.Taylor Coloccini Bassong Enrique R.Taylor Nolan Butt Duff Viduka Martins Though i think its fair to say shola will most likely start, nufc.com say that none of the returning three (Martins, Smith and Viduka) will start? One of them has too surely with Carroll being a major doubt? 2-0
-
Haha.... 2-0.....Martins...Bassong

"Sorry I was wrong and a cunt. I'm fucking off, here have the club and let it be run by a supporter elected committee. Oh and Lonsdale is shite." Dream on dreamer Sorry I thought I was geordie lad there for a moment Ah man your so funny!
-
not much of anything there to be honest. neither of them can pass. we'd be fucked. Butt certainly not. Nolan on the other CAN pass, he made quite a few really good passes in the 2nd half against the scum and in his time at Bolton he made alot of great passes. He is no "ball player" but to say he cant pass is a little harsh.

Joe Kinnear has hailed the 'sense of unity' at Newcastle as Mike Ashley prepares to spend more time working with the club. Ashley confirmed in December that the club was no longer for sale, having originally put Newcastle on the market following the sudden departure of former manager Kevin Keegan. The Magpies owner has now told new boss Kinnear that he plans to attend the training ground more regularly and will also take more responsibility for key decisions. Kinnear will also meet with Ashley every fortnight and the manager is looking forward to forging a close working relationship. "Mike will be back in Newcastle today. He definitely wants to become more hands-on in the running of his football club," Kinnear told The Journal. Committed "He has been in Newcastle three days a week and that will be a regular thing from now on. "He wants to see how things work and he's committed to a fortnightly major meeting between everyone at the club so that we can start moving things in the right direction. "It is a new world for him. Over the last week or so we've had him down at the training ground talking to the players, eating his lunch with them and giving them the kind of reassurances on their contracts and their future that they've needed to hear. "He hasn't seen players train and work first hand before but he told me it has opened his eyes, and he's definitely willing to back up his words." Kinnear has been buoyed by Ashley's promise and believes Newcastle can now anticipate a bright future. Unity "I know people still have to be convinced about things but there is a sense of unity at the club now," Kinnear explained. "The guys at the top know they need to communicate better, which is why they are speaking to the two local papers. "I think they will sit down with supporters' groups and fans and the people of Newcastle at the end of the season - I know they want to do that. "When I came in I kept getting caught between different people wanting different things but hopefully that has now disappeared and we can start to look forward." ------------- Should of been the case from the start but better late then never. Sitting down with supporter groups i presume he means NUSC? You know anything of this PP? He's gonna have to find some wonder herb from the amazon to grow 6 inch thick skin to with with the members of NUSC. Though if it means Wise removed and a bit of clarity this may be what we need.

If, and it's a huuuuge if, we do survive, I would love to be at the party LardAsh throws in way of celebration - it will be one hell of a bash! The 'bids' you refer to - I'll take it that these will be 'serious' bids. And finally, divvent upset G'Lad or us in the WBAB will have to 'sort it'. WBAB? Pardon my ignorance. God, you have just asked a question that makes me, and hundreds of other posters on here, feel very, very old. WBAB stands for Whitley Bay Aggro Boys and '.....AB' eg LBAB (Longbenton Aggro Boys) was a common term in days of yore. Maybe it's a good thing that the young kids aren't familiar with the term. LMFAO no disrespect mate but if i was part of a gang called that id expect a fucking hiding for being part of something that sounded so stupid.....how about BBB (Blyth beastie boys)

Forgive me if all i seen was a peice of shit going straight over my head.

I forgot you were the modern day Aristotle, i bow infront of the, the whom is holder of great wisdom. Alex have an opnion mate and smile, you mite like it! Stop posting drivel man. Well stop then...

Fair point and could well be true, makes sence, but if he invest heavely, and we know he is a gambler, the speculating to accumilate could pay off quicker and better. By this i mean having a good season with a good squad and qualifying for europe. Then he will have a club which would be very attractive to many, he would also leave with his head high.

Just talking to 2bias there and something dawned on me, should we stay up, then this window just gone could well of been a good but albeit brave and bold move. We have raked in about 12 mil on two players who didnt want to play for the club, one who was world class but replaceable, the other a whinging inconsistent little prick. In doing so probably relieved the club of 50k and 30k a week which over the year is £4,160,000. And again in the summer the likes of Owen 110k, Viduka 50k, Geremi 40k and cacapa 20k will all be leaving, collectively picking up 220k a week and £11,440,000 a year thats a further sizeable chunk the wage bill will be reduced by. So going into the summer with £15,600,000 less to be spent on wages, 8mil profit from january window, plus a reported 5 mil left from the milner sale we should already have a budget of over £20mil before we take into consideration TV money from sky and Setanta (Reported at £50mil) of which less will need to be spent on wages meaning more to reinvest in new players, and money from the PL for retaining PL status, which i believe to be around the £5-10mil mark. So is it really out of the question that we could go and spend £40mil+ in the summer? And thats not even MA putting any of his own clought into the bargain. My business accumen is not great but i dont think my figures or interpretation can be FAR wrong. As for people saying players would be reluctant to move to us, i think thats rubbish, we can write off this season, like we have many of times and still be an attractive option to many many players. Ok we are not going to attract the creme da le creme but we will still attract a good standard of player. I can see us going in for M.Johnson and Veloso again and standing a better chance than we did in a mid-season window where clubs are reluctant to sell. But we really need to be pushing the boat out in the summer, MA can stay so long as he does, £40mil + outlay, shift the dead wood, dont offer Wise another contract or terminate his current deal and go get the players we need in positions which are important. LB, CB, CM, LW, RW, ST x2 Is it really out of the question? Yes alex, gemmil and other members of the "doom and gloom, my pints half empty" brigade, i have woke up in positive spirits...you should try it sometime!

If it was postponed i thik it would be pretty beneficial tbh with our next game on the 22nd against Everton at home. Would give us two weeks to give key players more training time and to up there fitness. Just in time to play the toffees at home and put there coals in bit time!
