Its a fair point about weakening the squad but i dont get the hatred for Smith on here like....he is commited and loves the club, has went off the boil but still can do a job. He would feature in the PL for us but id like to use him as rotation with a new battling CM in there with Guthire or Barton or if Barton goes or doesnt cut it then another attacking CM. Xisco probably will leave for spain but i doubt Shola will go anywhere, same with Nolan and Smith....as long as CH is in charge.
-
I really dont get this delusional negativity like. Alor of our squad have PL experience tbh....they may not be top 10 players but certainly good enough to stay up next season. Its all about how they are managed, this season in the CCC Hughton has used them well but in the PL i personally think we will need a new manager in order to really push on. CH mite keep us up next year but if we want to progress further then a new guy is needed, and that being the case, why wait until the season after next?

What a load of cack tbh why not just use... http://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Sport/Football/...ewcastle+United No download, everything there on one page and updated frequently. Been using this for years.

Obi? Forgot about Pancake...i wouldnt give him an extension like.

Saw them on tv the other night. I haven't seen them since, but two goals struck me as shit goalkeeping. I may go and watch them again from the link up there /\ Tut give them credit snakey! They can only beat whats infront of them! I totally agree. But if a goalkeeper lies down before you have kicked the ball, even my old aunt would know how to score a goal. Carrolls 1st was an unstopable header...very few keepers at any level would of stopped that if any! Carrolls second, the keeper charged out to close the angle but stopped halfway...was still a very composed tidy finish. Lovenkrands the keeper was gash like but again a very composed finish...how many times have we seen players hit the keeprs legs or blaze over from that position? The run and through ball from routledge were immense. All 3 goals were top quality tbh. Carroll and Lovenkrands are looking like a great partnership with the strength of AC and the movement and pace of PL...i hope they can continue it in the Premier League! Routledge showing a bit of creativity we have lacked, although Guthrie has been awesome lately, should of had another assist for Nolans header too.
-
Come then end of the season when we have won promotion back to the big time who of our current lot would you be willing to let go, why and how much do you think we could get? Nolan...Not got the legs...3mil...Wont be sold as long as CH is in charge. Smith...I like him but maybe wouldnt cope in PL now....3mil...Id keep him as rotation unless we were offered 3mil+ Barton...Only if he doesnt show signs of the ability we know he has...2mil Ameobi...He has had his time needs to move on...2mil Best...Unless he starts showing promise he can go...500k...He wont be sold though Ranger...LOAN Butt...FREE All said only Nolan, Shola, Best and Butt would be the ones id be making an effort to move on.
-
Very few players adapt and hit the ground running when moving to a new team but that is no excuse...he looks like he works hard but has showed nothing in the way of quality for anyone to think he could be a good signing.
-
Its fascinating but also very worrying at the same time. What they are trying to do exactly is a mystery and fucking scary....especially when considered that the smallest particle of antimatter could wipe a whole city from exsistence.

Maybe, Maybe not...3 reserve games, granted not a full 90 mins under his belt but i wouldnt give him 90mins thmora if he started anyways...give him an hour or half an hour off the bench.
-
So the three we currently have are at the lesser regions of the flopchart? Not that i consider Smith or Coloccini a flop though.
-
Exactly my thoughts. Best is shit but i guess he does need time on the pitch if he is to improve. In his favour he has scored 11 goals in a shit Coventry team so he must have something we just havnt seen ANYTHING from him at all. Ranger would be my choice but CH will either go for Best or Nolan upfront with Carroll...this is all presuming that Lovenkrands wont make it. If he was to play Nolan up top and Smith isnt fit then why not give Barton a go with Guthrie in the middle?
-
On the back of a 7 game unbeaten run in which we have picked up 4 from the last 6 points available on the road, we go into a crucial 3 game period starting with a trip to Ashton gate thmora followed by Doncaster away and the BIG one Forest at St James. With WBA @ home to PNE and Forest @ home to Peterborough we make the trip to Bristol knowing that 3 points is a must and should we get maximum points we could further extend our lead over the chasing two! Danny Simspon is carrying a knock but should be ok, Lovenkrands picked up a calf injury and is 'officially' a doubt, Smith will have a late fitness test while Routlegde, Coloccini and Enrique all came through our last game with no adverse reactions. Barton and Ameobi are back training with former getting some reserve team action recently he could make the squad but whether he will remains to be seen. Williamson and Taylor are still out for a month. Likely line-up... ---Harper--- ---Simpson---Hall---Coloccini---Enrique--- ---Routlegde---Guthrie---Nolan---Gutierrez--- ---Carroll---Best--- Should Smith recover we could see him return to the centre of our midfield with Guthrie meaning Nolan could be pushed upfront with Carroll which imo is a better option than Best but maybe this will be his chance? Come on lads lets finish the season strong! 3-1 Carroll, Nolan and Guthrie!

Roy Hodgson is the fuckin boyo like!

ahhh Grasshopper, you are young, but you will learn. the lady's not for turning. Fish your a sound guy but dont patronise me fella. For all Leazes makes a good point that point only needs to be made ONCE. Not once per day, over and over and over again incessantly trying his best to make others conform to his opinion. You misread me fella, I meant Leazes will never, ever, give it a rest. This is his most favourite rant and he shall not ever drop it. I was actually mocking him, not you. Fish...ma'man "ahhh Grasshopper, you are young, but you will learn" is in fact condesending AND patronising in the fact you insinuate that my age (and im 24) means that i dont know that the world spins round. I knew your latter comment was directed at Leazes.

OK I accept that due diligence is perhaps wrong. I do seem to recall that Hall said that Mike Ashley was the best person to take this club forward - a view that he has yet to deviate from. That kind of sticks in throat a bit but yes, it does cloud sensible opinion... Peaks and troughs dear Craig, peaks and troughs. Ashley wont make the same mistake twice. We're climbing out of a trough towards a peak CT, what exactly is this "peak" you talk about ? Profit ? Or success on the pitch ? Because you - and others like you (and correct me if I am wrong) who see profit as success, can stand by for seasons of mid table placings and lots of turgid football at best in the premiership. Do you prefer this to attempting to get into europe and buying quality players like you have grown up seeing play for the club, because believe me, if you do want this again, he is going to have to spend the money, and what do you know, the Debt word will come back. For my money, you and others like you, particularly those who post on NO like gejon who slated the old board for not winning the premiership and licking Ashleys arse for getting relegated and promoted back again, will soon, in fact very soon, be urging him to splash the cash when you realise its the only way he is going to do it. Mistakes ? What mistakes ? A football club making a profit is a successfully RAN football club. A succesfull football club twins consistent profit with the winning of domestic and continental trophies. Anything else is NOT success. Simples. So who does this ? And why do you support your football club ? To look at the balance sheet or the league table ? WTF Leazes? Everyone at the club does this...from the players, backroom staff, accountants, marketers, chairman and fans. I support MY club because im a fucking geordie. Look at both but more importantly the league table. Wasn't a question aimed at you specifially GL........ I don't expect one or two people will be able to give a satisfactory reply though. I know it wasnt but felt necessary to reply all the same. Tbf Leazes id imagine most fans would look at it the same way...including yourself. I realised in the mid 70's that it was success on the pitch that mattered. The decline of the club in the late 1970's, and consequent loss of Gazza, Beardsley and Waddle simply confirmed it. The Halls and Shepherd changed all that. Anybody who has experienced that level of mediocrity and failure [rather than the disgrace of wasting money on quality players and not qualifying for europe or losing a Cup Final] will see my point. Although Mike Ashley has delivered those old expectations back again and a sizeable number of people have yet to truly understand it. Leazes man haway mate give it a rest eh?

I think that's stretching it like. If we'd maintained our form a little, or at least played better than we did I don't think the title would have been theirs. I honestly believe if we'd not stumbled as notably, they wouldn't have had the spur from seeing us falter. Exactly! Back to point... Just seen the goals...all three top quality finishes and top quality assists. Im struggling to pick a favourite but i have to say Carrolls header was very Shearer'esque.

Indeed they do. In those last 15 games, they gained 40 points out of a possible 45. That's in comparison to the 24 points we amassed over the same amount of games. Their run-in was something else. Aye but for a title challenger 24 from 45 is pretty fuckin shit tbh. All we needed to do was keep up some steady form but instead our arses fell out and the wheels came off. We through it away. End of. When you consider that 12 months previous Blackburn had amassed 30 points from their last 45 and still won the title, it puts it in perspective. If Manchester United had only got 30 points from their last possible 45, we'd have been champions. Hell if they'd managed to get 35 (only dropping 10 points in that run in) we'd still have beaten them. We threw nothing away - they won it in a very big way! I understand your point Craig but at the end of the day we were top with a substancial lead...we should of won it, we were in the better position so to let ManUre back into it was only our own fault. Keegan lost his nerve and so did the players.
