Really? Not even bottom half PL quality? I think so imho. Lovenkrands is fitter than last season. Carroll has improved tenfold and should continue to do so. The two of them have formed a good understanding. The rest however i agree are shit...Shola mite get the odd goal but not good enough imo, Best is awful, Ranger is green and needs loaned out.

We all want pretty much the same thing when it comes to how our summer will pan out... -Ashley to sell up to a good business man and football person with a bit of cash. -Hughton moved to a 1st team coach. -New 'quality' manager brought in...but who? -The rest of the shit shifted...Butt, Pancrate and Best -New 1st choice RB, cover for CB and LB, cover for RW and LW, 2 new CM (at least one if which should be a 1st choice) and at least 1 new PL quality striker. -Simpson, Raylor, Smith, Nolan and Shola used as backups. But....what will really happen? I that too much to expect? Should we even be expecting more? Personally i think FMA will stay on for one more year unless some rich arab comes knocking. Hughton will still be incharge and given 15mil to spend + whatever we get from player sales. We will get 4 out of the 8 players needed and only 1 being 'quality'. Finally i think Smith, Nolan and Shola will see more pitch time than they should which could essentially be what keeps us up or gets us relegated. I think our defence will be fine next season, not great just fine. I think our midfield is halfway there but NEEDS improvement if we are going to create PL chances and goals. I think the pairing of Carroll and Lovenkrands could do well...but 30 goals between them next season though? I dont think so. I think...this summer will be ok, just ok, nothing to get excited about when really it should be a huge summer from us...World Cup year so we could actually see us bringing in some young talent though...ones with potential and resale value. Who knows eh?

These games are always a ding dong...they could well take 6 points off us, we could take 6 off them or indeed they could be shared. Nobody fuckin knows. We do for sure need a few new players and i use the word 'few' very losely. I think the team ethos and our new found work ethic and spirit in the camp, added to finally a bit of stability means we are infact going into the PL a better side than the one that got us relegated. Even without the players who left.

Id stick with Harper for one more season in the PL and play Krul in both cups...give him a good chance and then make him number one season after next. Then again...we also have Forster.

Id love to see us absolutely tonk them for 5 or 6...hate evrything about the club, the place and the people plus i got family down there i detest so would be class if we hammered them.

Cheers Peter mate. Ignore Kevin, he gets extra hours on the internet at the nut house for doing "extra jobs". Personally i think we will finish around 13th at best with moderate investment, without it, it will be a struggle but i still think we will stay up. Not a great performance but a good one, we knew Forest were going to come at us and they stopped us playin alot of the time with their pressing of the ball. But once again our never say die attitude and belief won us the game along with a few inspired performances second half. Massive win tonight and it all could be done an dusted come this time next week, although not mathmatically correct imho i think we are up now. Now its a question of how many points and can we win the league? Was great to see the joy on CH's face when the goals went in and also the team spirit was there to see after both goals...Nice! Harper...7 Not much to do but alert when needed. Enrique...9 Strong, confident and composed in defence, in attack and in his goal...Definatly MOTM and our best player. Simpson...6 Starting to see why alot dont rate him highly. Coloccini...7 Done ok Williamson...8 Solid and alert, few good headers and blocks. Passed out defence well. Routledge...8 Busy, productive but in and out of games...looking like a good signing though and could do well in PL. Gutierrez...6 Worked hard but i thought his dribbling and general play was poor tonight although their RB done a good job on him. Guthrie...6 Went off the boil, seen alot of ball but didnt do much with it. Nolan...8 Bossed our midfield 2nd half, drove us forward and defensively done well. Carroll...6 First time in a while didnt look himself...think buckling his ankle was playing on his mind.....GOOD SUB CH! Lovenkrands...7 Ran and ran and ran but didnt do anything in the way of chances. Ameobi...7 Good goal and even better assist but overall play still poor...1st game back and all that. Barton...Not on long but good to see him get a good reception and having a laugh on the pitch...On guthries performance tonight id start him against Peterborough.

Arguably, minus Stevie Taylor that is our strongest starting 11 and subs bench! So with that in mind and with the sheer importance of tonights game, tonigh is going to be a fair reflection on just how good we really are. Im confident like.
