  1. I couldnt find them mate otherwise i would of... But i agree, the reason our strikers arent scoring goals is because of the lack of production from midfield...iv always said that tbh.
  2. Yeh but neither was Woodgate I know its early days but i can see quite a few similarities between Woodgate and Williamson. Promising. You're obviously not bothered about getting your name changed back with these sorts of wind ups are you? This fucka cannit be from Whitley. He must be in digs there whilst studying Home Economics at Tynemouth 6th Form College (or whatever it's called these days) Haha wtf? Im at uni studying Landscape Architecture ACTUALLY... I said similarities...he looks composed, comfortable on the ball and good in the air....promising.
  3. A bit harsh! You cant stereotype like that Stevie...oh wait...your Stevie All'Mighty of course you can! I know what your saying but having a bit of originality and being unique is cool, who wants to be like everyone else? Mann thats just boring... Imagine a world where we all looked the same, acted the same and had the exact same views....it mite be your ideal but for many that would be hell on earth.
  4. Taken from nufc.com so i dont know how accurate they are... Leon Best...42 in 120 starts...1:3 Shola Ameobi...58 in 158 starts + 105 Sub appearances....Just better than 1:3 Peter Lovenkrands...9 in 19 starts + 12 Sub appearances...1:2 Andy Carroll...9 in 26 starts + 27 Sub appearances...1:3 In the grand scheme of things and average of 1:3 within our strikers isnt bad but it isnt great....just highlights the fact we really dont have an out and out goalscorer....but we knew that already. Best looks as good as what we already got....no better, no worse....just making up the numbers. Just hope he has got a bit of pace about him and can forge a good partnership with someone. Best and Carroll to start on Friday?

  6. I have to admit i was totally underwhelmed with this signing but if you look at his record of 42 goals in 120 starts that actually isnt a bad return for a striker. 1 in 3. Be interesting to see shola, lovenkrands and carrols goal ratios.
  7. I don't like this system of playing 2 defensive midfield players. Never have. You can see why Keegan liked Guthrie, he is the only forward midfield player we have that looks around him in possession and tries to play the ball around, not a top player mind but has the bit extra about him. Forest and WBA are by far better footballing teams than us. Before the game a draw would have been OK yesterday but having played against 10 men for all the 2nd half and changing the system too late, it is 2 points lost. Guthrie was shite, is shite and less than average even playing in this league, lacks basic skill ......IMHO. Is this all we;ve got to look forward to!? he's the only player we have just now who is prepared to look around when he has the ball, thats the point I'm making, and no I agree he isn't good enough to be a good premiership player so yes it is all we have to look forward to !!! Mike Ashley is not going to show the ambition required for this football club that should be shown and sadly the ambition that a lot of people on here took for granted under the old regime and slated in the end. Wahay! Always comes back to that... Can we change his name to "SJH's Lovechild" ? On the contrary lad, I only hope the next time we have someone running the club with ambition to put it where it ought to be, the thousands of supporters actually attracted back to the club have the sense to support them and back them Meanwhile we wait for someone to buy out Ashley and actually do what the Halls and Shepherd did when they bought the club. Its a strange world, and NUFC supporters know their football ......... YAWN.......FUCK! Is that the time?
  8. Bit harsh really...hes been unlucky, would of done well at spurs if not for bentley and lennon. Still a talented lad and is only 25 so he is yet to peak imo.
  9. Was rumoured to be about the 1mil mark wasnt it? Plus 50k a week off the wage bill...hopefull of another signing later thday!
  10. That's pretty much the way I would start a game if all were fit, and on the bench I would have; Krul. Lovenkrands. Kadar. Raylor Lua Lua. If Barton were ready I'd put him in for Smith who is off the boil at the moment. Don't know about new signing Hall. I would have to be desperate to consider Butt, Nolan, Pancrate, and Ameobe. The Dutch boy looked good but he's only on loan for a month but a decent fill-in until Enrique is back. Looking forward, maybe Williamson and Saylor could form a better partnership than Colo & Saylor, maybe? We get 7 subs these days Noelie...krul, Hall, Van Aanholt, Raylor, Barton, Lovenkrands and Shola. As for your point on Saylor and Willy...i actually would like to see that next season, i had my doubts and i know its early days but Williamson looks similar to Woodgate in his style of play...could be a very good partnership.
  11. Exactly what i said last night...its plain to see except for Hughton. I just hope and prey when we go up we are took over and a good manager brought in.
  12. We are quite some way to being that standard tbh.
  13. No he hasn't. They expect him to sign tomorrow (Monday). Still time for a spanner i the works then Id imagine we mite go in for that Huseklepp now or even Vaughan on loan.

  15. Unproven yes but like any player he needs a consistent run of games in order for him to settle and improve. IMO Carroll and Ranger would offer us the most out of any possible pairing upfront with that we have. But like iv said already Hughton doesnt have the balls to drop "Big personality" players. The fact shola is carrying a knock may force his hand but he is still going to resort to Nolan and Carroll or Lovenkrands and Carroll, the latter partnership would be my second choice.
  16. Were you born in bolton? Id imagine you are a fan of Alladyce and Souness as well.
  17. Because its painfull...are you happy with the way we are playing? We are shit man....you mite not have any standards but im pretty sure most of us do and arent happy with whats going on.
  18. yeah that 2D is shit like...
  19. Credit where credit is due, he has knitted a loose squad together, got on with things when it would of been easy to get distracted and has identified decent signings within this window. He has got us to the top of the championship with a mediocre side and a small squad on team spirit alone and a little bit of luck but now is where it gets difficult...has he got what it takes? Normally a very placid personality but to me it has recently become quite apparent that he is starting to twitch, frustration is kreeping in and he is constantly looking to Calderwood for guidance. Worryingly i remember reading not to long ago how he went to the likes of Geremi and Butt for advice on team affairs...not really a strong leader-type character really. We have got this far and to most it is arguably suprising we are still sitting top, just shows that we are a shit side in an absolutely shit league...its not a measure of how good we are or have been its the cut of the league why we are 1st. In my eyes, the squad we have is OK, one capable of winning this league, one capable of turning over most sides in this league home and away, but the reason why we have been shite all season solely rests on the not so broad shoulders of Mr Hughton. The team can only go out there and do what they have been told, a good player cant look shit if played within a restricted role in the team and i think this is what is happening with us, over-cautious tactics. But for me the biggest problem we have is Hughtons complete lack of balls in making decisions, decisions mainly to do with accomodating wank players in the side just because of there "Big personality" or "Vast experience" By this i think you all know i mean Butt, Nolan and Shola and to some extent Taylor and Carroll. The latter two imo should be in this side, they are players who are important but they need to be playing in a side with little restriction, a side thats aloud to use there confidence to go and hammer teams rather than scrape a "valuable" 3 points. Most on here are pretty knowledgable and most agree on what should be our starting line-up week in week out. We all know we have a pretty decent back four when fit which writes itself on the team sheet, and with the addition of Williamson it can onlt get stronger, although now with injuries its time to step up. Midfield is the biggest area where Hughton gets it wrong, over cautious and negative, the midfield is the heart of your team, where our football is started and when we have a lopsided four which cloggers galore is it any wonder our strikers are looking shit? Butt should be a million miles away from the 1st team, its a huge worry that Hughton thinks he is still good enough. Nolan is wank, no legs, no vision and no goals of late, should only be used sparingly away from home behind the front man. I think if we went with the following we would see alot more chances created and a chance for our strikers to actually hit some form. Its not rocket science Hughton...sort your fuckin self out man you cockney thick cunt. ---Harper--- ---Simpson---Williamson---Coloccini---Enrique--- ---Routledge--Guthrie---Smith--Jonas--- ---Carroll---Ranger--- This is looking ahead to when Simpson and Enrique are back in 3 weeks time....That there is the team that should push on and win this league for us.
  20. We are fuckin shit! Hughton showed his complete ineptiude tonight in being able to read the game and influence it with substitions and tactics. It was plain to see that Leicester were tiring and with a few players on bookings what better time to bring Gutierrez on? If he was nursing a knock then he shouldnt of been on the bench. Routledge looks a real good player but time after time we didng look to release him, it was far to late when we actually moved Guthrie into the middle and bringing Pancrate on (who did ok) just wiped out the threat we had in Routledge by putting him on the left. Frustrating frustrating frustrating! Harper: 6 Not much to do. Raylor: 6 Awful 1st half but improved in 2nd with a few defensive blocks and a few decent balls into the box Williamson: 7 Solid, looks a good signing! Coloccini: 7 Solid, didnt put a foot wrong. Van Aanholt: 7 Shakey start but good going forward, quick, couple of good balls into box and 2 good strikes! Routledge: 7 Done well when on ball, didnt see enough of it...should of passed to Carroll though when he shot from tight angle. Guthrie: 6 Cant hold his position outwide, didnt do enough. Butt: 3 Fuckin awful...gave the ball away far too many times...really is finished...worrying that Hughton doesnt see it! Smith: 5 Poor by his standards but Butt should of been subbed not him. Nolan: 5 Done fuck all, slow and sluggish. Carroll: 6 Busy but was poor in general. Ranger: 5 Fuckin awful touch and really should of done better with his header. Pancrate: 6 Lively but scared to run at defenders and looked clueless when on the ball. God knows how we are still top, really shows how shit this league is! I honestly think our poor performance and shit brand of football is down to Hughtons lack of motivational skills and really poor tactical nouse. He's done ok but i hope to fuckin god when we go up (i still believe we will) he HAS to be replaced with a better standard of manager if we are going to insure we dont fall back into the league of shit again. Not fuckin happy.
  21. Absolutely! We have been dissapointing 1st half, created absolutely nothing, with Butt in the middle we arent getting the ball down and getting Routledge in the game! Raylor has been fuckin awful too! Butt off, Jonas on...Guthrie in the middle and pace out wide...Give it 15 mins and bring Ranger on for Nolan if we still not hitting nothing.
  22. Another lopsided midfield. Id imagine Guthrie on the right and Routledge on the left, probably switch over throughout the game. Nicky fuckin Butt? For fuck sake... Still confident of a win though...come on lads!
  23. Well no but we have to think positively. Leicester thday is stage one...and im confident. Who is our other game in hand? The postponed Reading away game I assume. Aye thats it...tough away game...still very winnable though! WBA would of been inspired by the Forest defeat...pushing hard now.
  24. Come promotion, Lovenkrands is the one striker we have that'll be a decent back-up IMO. Do you really think so? I dont really rate him, he misses so many easy chances, just look at the palace game...yes he has a bit of pace but for me doesnt use it effectively. Ranger has potential to be a decent backup if not better. Shola Should be a backup if we got a quality striker in but i doubt he'd want to sit on the bench at this point in his career. Carroll needs to finish this season strongly to justify a 1st team place but potentially his strength, his touch, his arial ability and the quality of some of his goals suggest he COULD be a good PL striker. I don't rate him highly but I think Ranger is a long way away from the player everyone seems to think he is. I think he needs a full season playing regularly to come along and Carroll's performances down in the Championship don't suggest someone that will be a decent option at the next level, at least not at this point in his career, maybe in a season or two but he's very raw at the moment. Lovenkrands is probably the best of a bad bunch, especially when Shola isn't ever fit enough to put together a string of games. If he's first choice, I'll be concerned but considering there's no chance of signing 4 new Premier League quality strikers, I'd keep him around and loan out Ranger. If we can get a couple of strikers in with a ton of pace then, fair enough, flog him but I can't see it happening. Fair point mate, i too would loan Ranger out next season if we get the chance of a couple of PL standard strikers. Carrol for me shows alot of promise but needs games, a consistent run, some will argue he has had that this season but he hasnt been able to build a partnership with anyone and lest we not forget...our midfield has been gash, strikers can only create so much for themselves...look at his second against WBA in cup. Carroll would be great upfront with either Moses or Vaughan.
