Am i the only one who thinks it looks shit?
-
Why? Id think its pretty close to that amount tbh
-
Not suprised...same old newcastle! One good win and a contender losing and we cant follow up and take a chance! With that team i was expecting us to go at them but we didnt...thats our problem away...Hughton is scared to go and try and beat teams away. Shocking really.

Alan Carr and that Fat pavarotti singin cunt off the car insurance advert are the two people id never get sick of punching the fuck out of!!
-
Too right, OzToon. I don't think the Baggies will be too badly affected. (Haven't they just signed an extra striker on loan for a month?) But I think (hope) this may be the month where the lack of depth in Forest's squad begins to play havoc. Also, if we do have any major injuries occur over the next week or two, is there still time to take on some loans? Mind you, we do seem to be running out of defenders again. (Just what is the story with Colo?) Just a strain isnt it? Simpson took a knock but should be ok for Derby. I think we will be alrite tbf.

£30 million at least. But then that would depend on us getting rid of Hughton as well. 30mil including or before player sales? The only players i think would be likely to leave or we should let go are Nolan (4mil), Barton (2mil), Butt (FREE) and Strola (2mil). The likes of Guthrie, Raylor Lovenkrands and Ranger will be squad players. I imagine we will get another Striker or two, Creative CM, and back up for RB and LB.
-
Lets say we have been promoted who would like to see us sign (realistically). Also who would you be looking to move on? How much realistically do we need to spend in order for us to stay up comfortably?
-
Were the flick ons picked up by our players? With Lovenkrands and now Routledge and Jonas on the wings, it's this kind of play that could cause a lot of problems to opposition. Best was quite a willing runner and Lovenkrands latched onto a few too. Carroll last night showed exactly what he is all about, like craggs said hopefully this is signs of things to come. Simpson and Enrique (when fit) supplying Routledge and Jonas down the wings and also crossing from deep. Best looked OK.

And lots of letters. -
Brilliant! Sima....is it not prenunciation? Anyways im a Geordie and its NEW--CASS-ULL Your the southerner mate!

Carrols header was tremendous from a great ball. Lovenkrands 1st was pretty good as he had to use strength to get by the defender and a clinical finish. His 2nd was top drawer at any level, composed and tidy! My favourite was Carrolls header though...
-
Aye and before that he did look pretty decent...fast as fuck but for one reason or another hasnt really cut it since.
-
Aye was a bit of bother on Barrack road like, those welsh are fucking horrid rats like! But fair play they made some noise last night! Fair point re midfield, but let's also bear in mind how many of that team last night are "his" players since taking over. The formation might have been forced, but 6 or7 of that team are at Newcastle because he got them and for that he does deserve credit. That's a different thing though. He was being praised for the selection, wasn't he? Aye i think Guthrie and two wingers made a difference, Nolan or Smith in that other role wouldnt of made a difference but Nolan did do well. Hughton deserved credit for his team selection last night although it was forced upon him somewhat with Smith and Colo's injuries. Onwards and upwards!!

out of these Forster, Kadar, Vuckic, and Donaldson are the only ones with a chance of playing top flight football. People like baheng, tozer and airey will probably be released at the end of the year . Baheng being nealy 21 and never playing a 1st team game Maybe...Airey wont be released and neither will Tozer but possibly Baheng tbh. Spear, Inman and Adjei look very promising thought imo! And Tavernier looks pretty good too!
-
Personally as traditional number 9's go then id give it to Carroll.

Just got home after a night celebrating what is IMO our 1st game this season where we looked like a footballing side! (Not without negatives though). Credit to Hughton for picking an offensive side and setting our stall our early, it paid off! We started well, on the front foot from the off and 3 goals in 15 mins was totally justified! Carroll had an absolute blinder all night, won the arial battle and got a header which Shearer would of been proud of from a tremendous ball from Simpson. We totally domintated the match apart from the first 20 mins in the second half, frustrating at the time as everyone in the ground knew at half time Hughton would have told the lads to sit back and protect our lead, which when looking back now, although frustrating was the correct thing to do. We werent brilliant tonight...we were GOOD, signs that we can actually play football with this squad. Delighted with the result and pleased with the performance. Harper...7 Not much to do but a few important saves. Simpson...8 More of a wide option than Routledge at times, defended well and supported the attack...SUPERB assist. Williamson...8 Composed and solid. Hall...8 Didnt put a foot wrong...solid! Van Aanholt...7 Likes getting forward but hesitant. Routledge...7 Busy, wanted ball but NEEDS to hug the touchline...good assist. Gutierrez...7 Again busy, worked hard but back to his frustrating ways of running into blind alleys. Guthrie...7 Looked decent, passing ball about well but at times was wasteful. Nolan...7 Comfortable in holding role...did a job. Carroll...9 Showed why i have faith in him, unlucky not to get hattrick...srong, clinical and lead the line! Best...6 Showed a few good touches but didnt do enough....1st game and all though. Lovenkrands...9 Took both goals well, 2nd was SUPERB!! Raylor...6 Done fuck all. All in all...this result has been coming and was totally deserved! Lets hope this is us now stepping up a gear...new signings looking good...we SHOULD build on this and show WHY we should win this league! MOM...Carroll without a doubt!

Good News. Got to play Jonas and Routledge on the wings with Guthrie and Smith in the middle. I would prefer Ranger and Loven up top please. hope you're right khay, it would mean we'd have the novelty of pace through the attacking parts of the side and a CM who can actually pick a pass we'd murder them with that team IMO Like i said in my OP. Tonight is the night were Hughton can right some wrongs at least with the correct line up and tactics...if he gets it right then we will hammer these welsh cunts tonight. 3-1

Numbers. -
Predominantly a midfielder who CAN play upfront. Wrong Maybe im wrong but from my time in glasgow and the 5 or so games i seen at park head he played in midfield...because they played kenny miller and hesselink upfront or samaras. No maybe about it. Whatever...but he DID play in midfield!
-
Alnwick, Forster, Soderberg, Tozer, Tavernier, Lough, Kadar, Vuckic, Inman, Adjei, Baheng, Spear, Airey and Donaldson all look like they could become good players tbh. Not a bad crop imo.

If promoted who are we replacing Hughton with?
Deano replied to Park Life's topic in Newcastle Forum
Hang on, the majority on here were saying we'd finish mid-table at best. Acca-spacca was derided for suggesting we'd win the league. So we can't be 'par for the course', we are vastly overachieving against most people's expectations. Having said that, I agree that the football is not good to watch and without serious strengthening will see us relegated from the PL before March. Fuck off! Overachieving? Haha FUCK OFF once more! We drop out of the PL after how many years in the top flight? After how many years competeing for european places? FUCK OFF We are completely and utterly underachieving this season IMO!! IMO!! IMO! (yes iv have a few beers!) I know we are top of the league but do we deserve to be? No! Are we playing PL football in the CCC? No! We have a squad of players who by the majority are accostmoed to the PL...does that show? No! ARE WE UNDERACHIEVING? YES! Accadacca was rite in saying we should piss this league, we should, so should Forest and WBA...this league is shit but we are SADLY not much better. Drunken rant over...
