Silly thing to say, the global economy is dependant on many things. Arab oil for one thing, the EU which has a higher GDP now than USA, and also China.

http://www.footballsfuture.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=454780 All just for us. 384 replies. You wouldn't find one for a yank football team. If I say a name like Miami 49ers, I honestly don't know if it's grid iron, ice hockey, basketball or rounders.

Fat cunts. One thing is for certain though, the Premiership has more fans and garners more interest there than any of their wanky sports do here.

Oh dear. I wonder if the Pittsburgh Steelers have a 98 reply thread on the UK elections when they come around.

Think this is a canny enough side in midfield and up front. Defensively they're amongst the worst in the league on paper, but that Diame has impressed me, and we know all about the others. Also Big Sam has a good record against us, I'd take a 2-1 win right now. ---------------------Jussi----------------- O'Brien----Reid----Tonks-----McCartney ------------Noble----Diarme--------- Benayoun--------Nolan---------Jarvis -------------------Carroll--------------

I think people are getting a bit emotional about Nolan's comments to be honest. Let's face it he'd probably be robbing old grannies or have a criminal record longer than the Great Wall of China if he wasn't a footballer given where he's from, but he was a good lad and a good player for us. He was slow as fuck, but one of the wisest players and best finishers we've ever had. He was a good captain, he got the hattrick against the mackems he should be remembered in a positive light. The actual comments, well he's right. Playing for Newcastle and playing for West Ham are two completely different things. One is in a medium sized city, where every move they make in scrutinised, where the media focus locally and nationally because of the size of the club must take some getting used to and acclimatising to, whereas the other are in the biggest city in Europe, playing for a medium sized club few recognise or have any knowledge of. There's absolutely no comparison between West Ham and Newcastle, one are a community club, and the other basically represent a huge geographical region of the country. Newcastle United are the largest institution between Manchester and Scotland. West Ham are like the scouts in comparison. He might find it a lot harder to "just disappear" playing for Chelsea or Arsenal, but he's at West Ham, where the expectation levels are lower, he's back in a style of football he suits, with a manager he likes, on a bigger salary, so everyone is a winner really. The only deluded comment he made was he thinks he'd walk in our current team. I think Cabaye has the edge on him personally.

It's like he's on one of them space hoppers from when we were kids.

Well it's hardly like I'm coming oot the closet and saying I'm bent.* Having depression is fuck all to be ashamed of, it's 2012 not 1912. I don't know about chemical imbalances in the brain for me, because it was all because of a perfect storm in my life, the chemical imbalances were probably created by dutch chemicals. * nowt wrong with this too for anyone that gets on their high horse or bats for Kent [/morematuremodernman]

When I was about 22, I had about 4 months where I was fuckin really bad. I don't know if it was clinical depression, but I was pretty fucking bad. I don't know if it was actual depression even though I was depressed. I couldn't think straight because to be quite open and frank with you, I was off the rails, gambling £1000 a week I couldn't afford, I was doing loads of e, and it was really fucking me up. Working in Sunderland made me even worse. I stopped all the shit, never really done any harmful drugs since, and I was back to my cheerful old self in no time. When you are depressed though, it's a fucking lonely old place, you think everyone thinks you're a mug, and you get paranoid. I'd have ended up dead if I didn't change at that time, being hospitalised by 3 kids did me more good than bad. I did prozac for 2 months, but that's nee good neither because you don't feel sad any more which is fair enough, but you don't feel happy neither. You don't fucking feel anything, nothing excites you, and you don't know why you exist. Anyway, I would never just say pull yourself together to someone who's depressed, because I'm sure every depression is slightly different. When I had it I used to talk to me sister who is a psychologist, and I used to say usually when everything is bad and people are cunts, I feel like I'm in a greenhouse and all of the rain bounces off, but now all of the glass is smashed and even little things are hurting me. It was over a four month period, I remember the toon beat Man Utd 3-0 (Big Dunc scored) and I was at the match like a fucking zombie was awful. Everyone went out afterwards, but I went home in tears. You get stronger again though, and never look back, I've had bad times since as everybody does, but never been depressed since then.

In all seriousness writing it on here I'd probably be committing a criminal offence. I'd PM you but there's kids you can trust and kids you can't.

I've known loads of people from Leeds. They're all fucking greedy cunts. Me brother in law is posh Loiner, but he is, and one of me best mates fatha's Jack he's from t'Batley, what a greedy cunt he is, I like him though.
-
Beverley is on my "to do" list. There are 60 racecourses in Britain, I've done 19 of them now, I want to do all 60. Still got 28 of the 92 league grounds to do as well.

As sooner as Yorkshire is mentioned this cunts hovering quicker than Paul Wyn when he gets an email off his paedo ring.

Leeds is alright for a night out, good up the student area round Headingley too. The people are fuck all like geordies though, that goes for the whole of Yorkshire and the NW. I don't like being called a Northerner by Southerners, because without being snobby, we're completely different from these people generally speaking imo. I realise that it sounds like I'm generalising massively but you also all know it's true.

We had a good neet in Pontefract after a Leeds game one time, well I say good, I was about 18 and I'm very short sighted had no contact lenses on as had me geps on at the game, so in the pub there was loads of lasses and one come over and said me mate likes you, and from where I was standing with no contacts in she looked fuckin mint, I says she doesn't look too shabby herself. So I walks over, and this is honest she had as much stubble on her lip than John Aldridge, I was like awe ffs. What a shite "anecdote" but that is my only experience of those towns to the East of t'Leeds. Never been to Wakefield, Castleford, never been to Hull neither, everyone says they're shite.

I went to t'Leeds v t'Man Yow at Elland Road in 2001. The toon were at Everton that day, I couldn't get a ticket, so on the Saturday morning, the brother in law who lives down south but is from Leeds rings me up "if you can get down to Leeds today you can come to the match cos me mothers not going." I thought right fuck it I'll see you in a few hours. At the very least it'll be interesting. The game was a 1-1 draw, absolutely NEE ATMOSPHERE at all, Leeds equalised late on against their so called biggest rivals, then late on had a perfectly good goal disallowed. There would've been absolute murders on here, but honestly it was almost passive. The cunts next to me had a blanket over their legs, honestly this there's just absolutely no comparison at all between the two clubs. They don't feel like they're anything at all, Sheffield Wednesday are a better club than them in my eyes, better supporters certainly. Also it's absolutely true they have a hatred for Newcastle. Whatever ANYONE says about Newcastle, anyone that knows the culture of the UK, anyone that knows football, Everton fans, Tottenham fans, fuckin Weymouth fans, not one of them can deny geordies and Newcastle United have a rich identity which is rivalled by few anywhere on these islands. Leeds identity is they're scruffy horrible cunts and that's it. That is where their jealousy emanates from. As Mancmag once said (about a completely different club and set of circumstances) Leeds are a tiny wart on Newcastle's big cock.
-
They've spent more seasons outside the top flight than in it in their history. I think the Championship is their level, certainly they have no right to claim they deserve top flight football on any level more than Derby, Forest, Leicester or Sheff Wed. They're not better now than they were 8 years ago when Millwall bummed them in the play offs. Was great when I went to Wembley with the brother in law for Doncaster v Leeds, all of them thought Donnie were there to make up the numbers. The only downside to them not being in the top flight is we always used to beat them. Laughable you get the occasional idiot drawing comparisons between them and us in stature. Like comparing Frank Sinatra to Frank Gallagher the trampy Yorkshire cunts. Awful skinhead scruffs too.

Spot on, and fair.
-
You'll never see NUFC win a game 5-0 with this side, but the positive is as discussed, we have a good shape and are very hard to break down.
-
Who said we resembled Barcelona like?
-
We're shite. CT is right imo. We grind results out, we carried loads of luck last season, which has deserted us this. We're hard to beat, but we're more Bolton 2004 than Barcelona 2012.
