  1. Barnes looks miles off the pace. Thought he was much quicker than he is.
  2. And in one strike, you can see why we need a new keeper for that next level. Doesn't get down anywhere near as quick as he should. Been excellent in general but proof in the pudding with exposure to shots, comes exposure to his weaknesses.
  3. Can see Howe keeping willock on for another 20, hoping we create another going forward before shutting up shop (hopefully leading), with longstaff coming on. Going to be hairy stuff but great first half, regardless of their chances created (only breaking through lines or set pieces). Wonderful to finally go at them away from home. Eroding the memories of that 7-3 game.
  4. Two things.... We're leading away to Arsenal in the cup, fairly even game. 5pts behind them in the league & commentator thinks it's OK to talk about Arsenal looking at Isak wishing he was theirs? Fuck off. Secondly, Arsenal are whining cunts.
  5. Willock is a lazy footballer without the ball and positionally quite poor. Great ball carrier but is not closing down anywhere near aggressively or intelligently enough. Been an entertaining first 30. Ours first 20, there's the last 10.
  6. Goals this season against Villa, Man City, Liverpool, Spurs and Bournemouth. All teams competing for Europe.... Following on from last seasons goals in big games.. Did he turn you down on a night out once? Don't understand the hostility.
  7. Bruno rat Fernandes and Ugarte both missing our game on Monday now due to suspension.
  8. Horrendous defending. Schar really poor, doesn't do anything. Pope should save that too.
  9. This refs a total cunt. So many blatant free kicks not given.
  10. Almost every forward pass Trippier played in the first half an hour was misplaced. Murphy never looked on his toes, so that wouldn't have helped. Hall fluffed a few too, along with Tonali as he tired later on. Generally though, our passing looked much better yesterday, largerly due to Bruno picking the ball up in those pockets much more frequently than he has been.
  11. Save for Man City & Arsenal (without significant injuries to their core), all positions are realistically "up for grabs". I do think that's contingent on signing at least a top quality centre half or right winger, not just due to impact on the starting eleven but the boost to the squad morale. Fresh faces of quality bring a group along dually in that regard & continue the recent trend of squad growth in quality and reaffirm what the board are saying to the squad & in the press. I reckon a 5th place finish without a top quality addition, 3rd place with it.
  12. Think this is likely. All articles at the time including our media release stipulate long term contract. https://www.newcastleunited.com/en/news/newcastle-united-sign-anthony-gordon Would be a horrendous oversight/error to offer a 21 year old a 3 and a half year contract having spent c£45m on him. Not buying it.
  13. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11661/12794111/anthony-gordon-signs-for-newcastle-for-gbp45m-from-everton-after-handing-in-transfer-request Said he signed a long term contract in January 2023. Three and half years seems too short and given the way the management structure were talking him up when signing, seems strange not to tie him down, even stranger considering a £45m fee... Reckon it's bollocks.
  14. Player of the season Foden has been the worst player on the pitch. Nothing sticking and acceleration looks non existent. The feeling of turning up to an Sunday league game at 10am, spannered from the night before.
  15. He's been known to guide players into the 11 over times so I guess if we did sign him, it'd be a gradual integration. Sell it as you'd need to learn training methods and how the team players before eventually taking over. It was apparent last season how much we struggled without Pope, so hopefully with another decent to top keeper in the ranks, it will allow a season or 2 to search for an understudy to the next, when Pope does move on.
  16. Apparently Chelsea are after Mamardashvili too... The games I've seen him in, he's been an excellent shot stopper with superb reactions & an incredibly strong voice. Dominates the area too. The way we play, he'd need to come off his line alot more but imagine he's got that in his tank. More confident with ball at his feet too but again not upper echelons yet - will need improving. Won't be coming here second fiddle anyway & Chelsea will probably buy him, Olise, Sesko.....
  17. Have you seen big Brucies news conference. Couldn't spit it out - full of bollocks.
  18. Long had that suspicion. Regularly see references to "wanting to sell to a party that can take the club forward". The fat fuck will clearly want a vested interest in a potentially booming club with worldwide exposure. He puts in no investment and reaps the benefits. We're royally fucked and he isn't going anywhere.
  19. Remember when we were second favourites to sign Mbappe......
  20. SSN saying we've agreed to sign Jordan Lukaku on loan from Lazio. Left back - Belgian International. Loan market again......
  21. Smells of Coloccini, Rafa, Lascelles..... So on, so on, so on & their lovely letters, joint letters bollocks bollocks bollocks
