Almost every forward pass Trippier played in the first half an hour was misplaced. Murphy never looked on his toes, so that wouldn't have helped. Hall fluffed a few too, along with Tonali as he tired later on. Generally though, our passing looked much better yesterday, largerly due to Bruno picking the ball up in those pockets much more frequently than he has been.

Save for Man City & Arsenal (without significant injuries to their core), all positions are realistically "up for grabs". I do think that's contingent on signing at least a top quality centre half or right winger, not just due to impact on the starting eleven but the boost to the squad morale. Fresh faces of quality bring a group along dually in that regard & continue the recent trend of squad growth in quality and reaffirm what the board are saying to the squad & in the press.
