  1. I hope these rumours aren't true, Nigeria is hardly the centre of good business practice.

    Owen

I wouldn't hold it against any player if they felt it is time to move on come January (with the possible exception of Taylor). These guy's careers are finite. I would be very pissed off if I had to work for Mike Ashley and his cronies. Milner must be very relieved.
  3. That sounds perfect, good work mate!
  4. Can we have a sticky for this please guys? Something just communicating the thoughts of the "official" group would be useful. Summaries of meetings etc.
  5. It makes no sense to me why he would choose Everton over NUFC. He would need to fund the new stadium, which apparently is 400 million from the outset. 250 million is a "bargain", pity Ashley fucked it up really.
  6. Although I sympathise with the "fuck it why bother" attitude, to choose Leeds as an alternative is beyond me. Especially if you have gripes with the principles of the Premier League, because Leeds probably has the infrastructure to get back to the PL in a couple of season, where you may be paying £40+ per ticket once again. To be frank the atmosphere argument just doesn't wash The only suitable way of turning your back on a club is to stick by the principles AFC Wimbledon or more aptly FC Utd. Things are very rotten with football in the UK. For me, I just want to watch good honest football, which Keegan and his backers at the very least have going for them. May I remind you that Ken Bates is as much a wanker as all the interfering and self righteous chairmans like "ours".
  7. How did you manage that? that's quite impressive!
  8. I'd play Taylor and Faye at the back.....hang on. No maybe not. WHY did sell him for peanuts???? I agree it's to big a risk playing a new partnership. Coloccini doesn't even peak the lingo. At least he will know what Tevez is all about though.
  9. He's banned for about another week I think. Thats not going to change I wonder if he will be back!
  10. Can we reinstate that Danny fella, it would be nice to hear his excuses for his team. Boro are quite solid,
  11. Boro 1up, bloody delighted for some reason!
  12. I don't think it's anything to worry about, but it would explain things.
  13. Apparently Coloccini's Italian citizenship is under investigation. Has anyone heard anything about this? It would explain a delay. I found this article in a Buenos Aires paper, from last month. Translated and edited quite a bit: http://www.clarin.com/diario/2008/07/16/deportes/d-05201.htm
  14. I'm not at all surprised the delays with Jonas and Coloccini, anything involving Argentines takes ages. Try to pay a bill or shop at an Argentine supermarket
  15. Tacklers Team Tackles Success rate Reo-Coker Aston Villa 178 80% Mascherano Liverpool 165 76% Malbranque Tottenham 158 76% Muamba Birmingham 156 76% Butt Newcastle 151 72% Passers Team Passes Accuracy Fabregas Arsenal 2318 81% Clichy Arsenal 1975 83% Flamini Arsenal 1710 87% Gerrard Liverpool 1652 78% Butt Newcastle 1630 75% The OPTA stats show that he may not be as shite as one may think! I don't know if you can read too much into them though, but still....
  16. What. The. Fuck!? If he's worth £7 million i'm worth half of that. Atleast. TBH I thought the lad was under the age of 25! christ I didn't know he was 29...scrap that!
  17. Seeing that Bullard has just rejected an extension to his contract, I would be very happy if we could get him for 7 million or so. Why would Fulham sell though......it's such a tough market. Arse shaving for 25 million? Why didn't we buy the little Russian dude when he was interested????????? I would be OK with Gutierrez, Colocinni and Guthrie + that one creative midfielder that we still so obviously need.
  18. Do these guys just pick random names from the Times top 100 rich list?
  19. Nice sentiment, no reason to flame such optimism. However I have always seen the bookies as a very good gauge. IMO Allardyce had a good squad (and he actually added some class players to it to be fair), it's just a pity he was a twat. Keegan just needs a couple more players and some luck on the injury front to put things right next season. A season without bust ups, random takeover rumours, and general malaise would be nice.
  20. http://www.clarin.com/diario/2008/06/19/um/m-01697421.htm This is a very encouraging article. I like this comment: Jonas jugo muy bien, puso mucho huevo, era un partido contra Brasil, nada mas y nada menos, corrio los 90 minutos, buenisimo. Riquelme y Messi fueron los mejores junto con Jonas. Jonas played very well, with balls, and during a game with Brasil no less. He ran the whole 90 mins, brilliant. Riquelme and Messi were the best players alongside Jonas. no le pesò la camiseta como a otros jugadores con mas experiencia que pareciò que no viajaron. Ponganle todas las fichas a este muchacho, que va para el frente!!!! Another He didn't "feel the weight of the shirt" like other more experience players who appeared not to have travelled. They should play this lad in every game and they will finish on top. Que emocion!
  21. I'm starting to get more disillusioned by football each year - how far from reality can it actually get?
  22. Story in the Sunday Sun with quotes from his agent saying we enquired and he wants to talk to us again. http://www.sundaysun.co.uk/sport/newcastle...79310-21130525/ Aimar was linked to us in the Argentine press yesterday, the fee was quoted to be around 8mil euros. According to them Panathainakos are "leading the chase" with Hamburg and Borussia Dortmund also interested. I woul love it as it would increase the interest here in Newcastle, alongside Tevez's Man U and Mascherano's Liverpool, Argentines apparently own their foreign teams.
  23. Cheers mate, I'm mainly a bystander!
  24. That story is downright fucking libelous.
