Owen can bring a hell of a lot more to te squad going forward than Viduka. Though Id keep them both. I think we need a goalscorer to come in shipping out Shola. Martins/Viduka/Owen/+1 to compete for places. I still think owen can come good if he gets the supply. I think he can under KK. He will never be the player he was, but at least we can start to see a return on him.

He just needs to get his head down and crack on. He'll do well here if he sticks with it and is clearly in KKs plans. I just hope he aint another attracted by the bright lights of London.

We were right not to sign anyone in the summer. We are right to be targeting young kids as future prospects and get the academy working for us. We WILL sign established players next summer. We wont get relegated. We wont qualify for europe. Ok, thats got that lot out of the way. I really dont see what the point of signing players this winter was just for the sake of it? Why not give KK the rest of the season to work with this squad and have a much better idea where to go come the summer? Sure a couple of players would have been nice, but I dont think any would have made a huge difference to the outcome of this season. On relegation, I still think we could slip back a couple of places. We still have some tough games but also some very winnable ones. I just dont see us dropped so far back that 5 teams will leapfrog us. Its the usual, we are bad, but there are teams a whole lot worse. We have a tough little run come up but then it does get easier (somewhat). So, Im happy at the moment. I can see things getting put in place behind the scenes. Ive already wrote this season off. We may finish 15 - 11th but come the summer we should have identified quite a few targets and be ready for 08/09. Id hope that we'd then sign a good number of players that would be starters as well as continuing to find kids.

Quite simply, do you think Carr will keep his spot when Beye is back in the side? Beye was one of Sams best signings a sold RB though I think he can also play in the centre. But, with KKs style, Carr is pretty good going forward and hasnt done too badly over the last few games. Im wondering how easy it will be for Beye to get his place back? I know Id drop Feye straight back into CB (though I thought he was excellent as a DM and would start him before butt). Personally, I like Beye, and Id like to see him back in the side and how he does under KK.

I recorded it on Sky+ and watched back over it. I reckon Owens first goal should have stood. 1-0 us. Duff's offside was marginal and an arguable one. So was their goal at the end that got ruled for offside. So, 1-0 or 2-1 both similar. Their actual goal I reckon was offside. They had two players 1 yard offside but not huth who scored. I still reckon the other two were interfering. So, we should have won.

Just back in. Poor game in all, game to life a bit late on. First half both sides were poor. No idea why Owens goal was ruled out so Ill have to see that again. Barton I thought was coming inside too much giving us no width on the right. Second half seemed better when Milner came on though Id have done a straight swap for Barton. That said, barton was better when pulled inside. I thought Duffs goal was onside and I also thought their equaliser was offside. So thats about 3-1 to us then? About our play though, I thought we were caught in possession far too many times. Does no one shout man-on anymore like? When the equalised I thought our whole side was standing still like rabbits in headlights. Offside or not we all seemed to stand and watch. Oh, and boro, its not a fucking Derby.
