Just got back in from in. Two completely different halves. First half Looked good. We were all over them at a point and prob had more shots on target than the last few games together. Duff looked lively on the left and Milner finally gave us some balance and width on the right. I was dubious about starting with Feye and Butt in the centre at home (too defensive) but Feye had a pretty good game. The down side was martins, just didnt takle his chances and should have done much better on a few occassions. Second Half. All we really needed was swpping Martins for Owen and thats just what he done. This was proved in minites as Owen had our best shot of the game. He looked much more aware and getting in great positions despite seeming to lack some of his pace. However, it was down hill from here. Milner wenmt completely off the boil, Zog ran out of steam and Butt/Feye disappeared. They started running rings around us. We just totally lost the plot. Absolute shite. Their second goal was a disgrace with no one picking up their sub (fernandes?) and he ran unchecked about 20 yards, took the ball and scored. It was like slow motion. Ive never seen the place empty that early as quick in a long time. Buy 90mins Id say it was half empty. When they said 4mins added time you could hear the groan from the fans "do we have to put up with another four mins?". Bollocks.

I think we need a new LB so that we have Enrique + 1 for that spot. That would then give us Milner, Zog & Duff to cover the wings and stop the need to keep playing Smith or Geremi out there. We do need a playmaker in the centre. I'd be happy to see Barton shipped out (unlikely) and if need be Emre (he's decidedly average but prob out best at the moment). With Martins on his way, we do need cover up front. I think Shola has had his day. While Owen is coming back, chances of him and Viduka staying fit are slim. Picture the scene. Few lasses get together over Xmas (this was taken a couple of days ago). They decide to take a photo using one of their phones (hence the resolution isnt the best). You can see that there is a small girl in the photo on the right hand side and she is crying. The reason is that she was asked to stand in the centre of the group rather than to one side. But she wouldnt "as there was someone there". Naturally your first thought it "nah, this has been editted". But I cant tell. It was meant to have came straight from a phone. I did get it by MMS to my phone (second hand, from the orig phone, to my mates then to mine last night), and I then emailed it from my phone to my pc. Thats true. He's in a no win actually after the window. If he doesnt spend, then Mort/Ashley dont support him and he is gone in the summer. If he does spend (more than a token amount) he has to get it right quickly as he will have had two windows to get it right. While some say the city game is crucial, for me its the Stoke game.

Im not concerned about Enrique. I liked what I seen of him but he is young and has plenty of time. If he isnt ready, which I wouldnt have a clue about having only seen him a few times and never in training, then I would like to see us bring in another LB and push Zog back to LM.

Should never have been ejected from the club in the way he was in the first place. He is much too frail these days and I fear his days are numbered. Id be tempted to invited him back into the club as an ambassador or something just so he goes out with more pride. Then again, he should go out with his head held high no matter what he does now, if anything.
