Send it into Popbitch, they can worry about the "allegedly" and I can still get to read it.

I wouldn't call Franz Ferdinand shit. They're never proclaimed to be out to push musical boundries. They just do catchy pop-rock. Agree on the Gang of Four thing though.

Best Albums of the year: Elbow - Leaders of the Free World Editors - The Back Room Do Me Bad Things - Yes Engineers - Engineers

Two prostitutes are stood at a street corner discussing how busy they have been. The first one says "Christ it's been a busy one tonight, you can smell the cock in the air" the second one replies "Oh sorry, I just burped".

This one is probably quite old. Two peadophiles are sat on a park bench when a 16 year old girl walks past. One turns to the other and says "Bloody hell, I bet she was a go-er in her day"

Engineers - Engineers Needs another listen but I quite enjoyed it.

There was a bloke behind the bar in The Coach and Eight down Durham last night who looked the spit of Hoggard. Everyone seemed to take great pleasure in pointing it out to him. Bet he's been getting shite like that since the Ashes started.

That explains it. The trauma of watching Amdy Faye playing nearly a full match shocked you into football related dreams.

No mention of championing new music, just UK music. Regardless of their popularity. 30833 I know. David Bowie got nominated a few years back. But the Mercury prize has to keep itself relevant, Bowie was nominated because it was his best album in years, this was coldplays worst. If it starts just pre-empting the Brits then what's the point in it. Personally I'm glad there's a prize that promotes new and interesting music rather than chart shite. Would you prefer it was the Brits, Smash Hits Poll Winners Party and the MOBO's that decided who gets rewarded? Even the NME and Kerrang awards are geared toward the most popular tripe. 30839 Personally I put it up there with all awards. They're not worth anything and could all be stopped for me. If you have to be told by an award to go and buy an album then there is something wrong. I couldn't give a shite what Jo Whiley (I'm surprised she didn't try suddenly announce that The Killers were really from the UK and crowbar them in) et al say is their bestest album.

Actually the full description for the MMP says: No mention of championing new music, just UK music. Regardless of their popularity.

All of these sponsored awards are a load of bollocks to be fair. This one is no different. It's the same award that's crowned Ms Dynamite and Dizzee Rascal. Not forgetting M People back in the early days. This one swings between whats popular and the politically correct choice from year to year.

Guillemots - I Saw Such Things In My Sleep EP A bit of buzz about this band, so I bought two copies, one for Ebay if they make it big.

Julie Birchill did another of those things for Sky last night. This time she was prattling on about how good reality TV is. I didn't see it, but it was in the TV mag. I know where I recognised her name from now, Sugar Rush. She wrote that to try and offend middle class England by saying how 15 year olds were shagging about, get tting stoned and gettting hammered. Then Channel 4 turned it into a angst ridden late night show, where the girl manages to turn her previously straight mate gay, after running away to London.

Soulseek is a nightmare for having arsey people. Torrents are best for full albums. Limewire has been good for me for single tracks, but yes failing that then the Soulseek is a decent back up.

Happiness is East - Talk Talk

Editors - The Back Room Canny album. If you can get past the fact they sound alot like Interpol early on you can enjoy the album in it's own right.
-
1 Thing - Elbow It's a cover of the Amerie track, very funny.
-
Monster Munch - The hot ones and the Pickled Onion ones. The Chicken and BBQ sauce Walkers ones are lush. Like the Sweet Chilli walkers sensations too. Who can forget Tudor Specials? Used to love them.
-
Yorkies are my current favourites. Aero Caramels All Aero's really! Infact all chocolate! Love acid drops and sherbert lemons. Like really sour things too. The only sweets that are sour enough for me are called Toxic Waste and really get your eyes watering.

I'm obsessed with Super Real Tennis on my K750i, it's so addictive.

I recognise that name, i have mates in Consett I used to see them when i stayed at a friends in Stanley. 14220 And you made it out alive Anything that gets levelled at Consett goes for Stanley, only it's twice as bad.
-
I'm not gonna argue with that.
-
Fuck me gently! Cheap at half the price! 14208 It's cracking. We get in early, pile the table high with them then watch the sixth form talent flood in. They do house trebles for £1.99 aswell.

Generally in the pub I'm a Boddingtons man. Lager wise it's usually Stella. Bottles it's Corona. Not a big spirits fan but at a push it'd be Southern Comfort and lemonade. If I'm out in the big city (Consett) I usually partake in a couple of double vokda irn bru's in The Braes (only £1.99) and in The Soviet, Fosters is only 50p a bottle on Saturday nights.
