That froth is unsettling...

Perfect end to my weekend in Newcastle. Unfortunately had to fly home at 9.30 this morning, otherwise I'd have been there!

I can't say I remember Valencia putting in a good cross, so I think its fair to say Jose did an ok job, fair enough he wasn't near what he reached last season but tonight was a massive step up. Unfortunate for the goal. Agree with the comments re: Perch, but that was his first Premier League game and it was at Old Trafford, so he gets the benefit of the doubt for now. Just like Holden, I was stuck in a pub full of Man United idiots - and I mean idiots, one in particular thinking any player who did anything wrong was an absolute cunt and the worst player on the pitch, to being amazing after a successful pass - and one or two seemed to think Carroll really owned Evans and Vidic in the air. He was just far too isolated, having to chase his own flick-ons because Nolan hasn't got the legs to cover the centre circle let alone box to box. There were some encouraging signs tonight. Our quick one touch passing was good at times. And the defence wasn't that bad for most parts. The real test is our first home game because we need to pick up points at home this season.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...-Leroy-Fer.html? Most probably bullshit?

Jose up against Valencia will be interesting to see how much he has come on since we were last in the Premier League. Looked magnificent and settled last season, let's hope he can do as well this time round. Big opening test for him. The old familiar feeling of dread before a Premier League tie is back. I've missed it

I was up at that game tonight. 2-0 flattered Juve a little but they probably deserved to win. Neither team created a lot. As for betting, raging that I didn't do what I thought about and thats back McGrane and Clark e/w in the golf this weekend!

Awful Lost 6-0 to Levski Sofia in the Europa League last week -
Gillespie is playing for Glentoran now. He put in an absolute peach of a cross for their goal against Bohemians recently.

FWIW I think we will get the three wins out of three needed to secure promotion in our next three games. Forest have lost their last 6 on the road or something? We then go to Posh where we really owe them one for that game in the League Cup, coupled with us being so close to the finish line, something that will spur the players on. Followed by Sheffield United at home, tricky but a probable three points. Easter week off work shall be an enjoyable one

Swansea won't have had a much easier game all season.

Nolan is a fuckless twat. Great effort in the drop ball. Left on his arse.

Took them long enough

On more than one occassion he has looked EXACTLY like Nicky Butt in the midfield. Passage of play normally goes like this. Ball passed to Nolan in midfield. He has 10 yards of space between him and the nearest defender. Tries to take his first touch without looking at the ball. Ball richochets off his leg and Nolan moves over to grab it. He now only has 5 yards of space. Having gathered control of the ball, Nolan commences moving towards the goal at almost full pace. The ball is almost casually dribbled at times it's dangerously far from him but it's ok because at his blistering pace there's no way in the world that the opposing defender has closed the five yards of space. Except he has, and with ease he picks Nolan's pocket. Having been dispossesed perhaps from pure astonishment Nolan falls to the ground like he has been fouled, even though he clearly was not. Play continues and not only have we lost possesion but we're also left with only 10 players as Nolan indignantly picks himself up from the ground blowing hot air the entire time. You left out the part where he has a joke and a laugh with the ref/nearest player to mask the fact he's been shown up again

Lovenkrands will be the first to be taken off. Then Butt will probably come on for Nolan!
-
Nolans been that bad I'm starting to think it's actually Nicky Butt
-
Swansea playing some good ball whereas we are just getting it and aimlessly clearing it right back to them. So many empty seats too!
-
Where has the Nolan from early season disappeared to? It's startling. That passage of play leading up to his foul there sums up how much he has faded.

Another tricky one coming up on Saturday too ffs.
