  1. ---------------------Vorm Sagna--Coloccini--Kompany--Evra Moses----Dempsey---Mata-----Bale ---------------RVP--Holt Subs: Kenny, Yakubu, Drenthe, Skrtel, Sessegnon, Odemwingie, Moses Really tough when you can only pick one from each team! Also, realized that there are very few decent holding midfielders in the league, so as a result my lineup is extremely attacking!
  2. Can you manage your UT on the computer? If so what website? Because thats really what has put me off doing it -- the interface for it on the xbox is really slow
  3. Gonna be in England for july and August anyway, so I would've missed the US tour anyway. Im there until August 22nd though, so I should be able to go to the first game of the season!
  4. Apparently the Newcastle Eagles came to the training ground to play some basketball and footy with the NUFC first team and coaches. I think its a good thing they decided to be footballers and not basketball players. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastle-united/nufc-news/2012/04/16/newcastle-united-play-newcastle-eagles-in-sport-showdown-video-72703-30773122/
  5. Interesting to see where all of our players have gone who we were once upset about: Given: at Villa, fighting relegation Bassong: cant get into the spurs side, on loan at Wolves, got sent off after 8 minutes last weekend Milner: barely gets a game for city anymore, usually off the bench NZogbia: spotty time at villa, including a brief falling out with Mcleish Barton: fighting relegation with QPR Nolan: playing in the championship and could very well be there next season And I'll leave out Carroll and Enrique cause we all know where they stand. Just interesting to see that most of our players who wanted to leave nufc for brighter futures have done exactly the opposite
  6. I'd say we'd need 4-5 new players this summer to prepare us adequately for the Europa League, runs in the cups, and the League. 1 or 2 more if Guthrie or Simpson leave as well.
  7. Some of the very best toon fans I've ever met are OOTs. I'm not OOTist, but I think in the same way foreigners need to fulfil certain conditions to become British citizens, OOTs should have similar criteria before I accept them. For instance if I didn't get a Cup Final ticket but Lake Bells Tits did on his first trip to England I'd be fucking livid. What criteria would they have to fulfill? A written exam?
  8. And I think Sturridge is a much better overall player than Walcott, fwiw
  9. Work? I beg your pardon, but I am a scholar of the highest order. In all seriousness I doubt I'll ever get a job, I'm getting my BA!
  10. oof that's brutal. I'm an undergrad so luckily I haven't really had to write anything more substantial that 3000 words. I certainly do not envy you haha
  11. Can keep Ben Arfa company. Let's send Cisse out as well. He's only played 9 games in the Premiership so far so he could really use the experience.
  12. i feel your pain. At least I'm done after that. As of April 25th I'm out of school for the whole summer, spending a month and a half in Montreal with my girlfriend, then working at the Olympics for three weeks. Just think of the summer and you'll get through it!
  13. If we had more depth it would be nice to send him out on loan to one of the promoted clubs next year.
  14. He'll get loads of playing time next season -- injuries are bound to pile up given our increased fixture list, plus Cabaye and perhaps Ben Arfa will need more rest after playing in the Euros. He'd be an idiot to leave, no one above us would take him. Although I could see him going to someone like Norwich and doing quite well there. Regardless, I hope he stays!
  15. Back end of an all nighter at the moment that I've undertaken to finish a paper on why football became so successful in the North in the early 1900's. Then another paper due next Wednesday, followed by 4 final exams in the week after that. These are going to be the best two weeks EVER
  16. He's been one of their main goal threats lately, glad he's out
  17. Level on points with Tottenham and the potential for Chelsea to drop points later today against a strong Fulham side who are in form and good at home. Not bad to start the week!
  18. The 2 week break will do us a world of good I think. Ba's been looking knackered after playing the whole season and the ACON and I think that's mainly why his form has suffered, not Cisse.
  19. This is a game we would've lost or drawn last season. Having a striker who can finish and the creativity of Ben Arfa has made a world of a difference.
  20. World class. Not many other players in this league who can do that
  21. Ba looks extremely lumbering. Moving like he did in August when he was fasting
  22. So, I'm writing a paper for a class on 20th Century Britain, with my topic being the importance of football in the development of the social and economic landscape of Northern England in the early 1900's, focusing on Lancashire and Northumbria. Could anyone recommend any books about this time period that would be useful? They don't have to be specifically about the North -- any books about the beginning of association football would be very useful and any help is appreciated. Cheers everyone!
