  1. I really hope QPR stumble next year. Trying to be a midtable Man City and it's really annoying me.
  2. The Football Ramble is a good shout. MotD needs more JamesorJim!
  3. I'd take Michael Ballack, Gary Neville, and Kevin Keegan. Keep Lineker as host, and have Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mario Balotelli on every other week to shake things up.
  4. Mark Douglas seems to think that NUFC are set on a loan-to-buy deal, and thus Ba won't go the other way
  5. I'm going up to Newcastle sometime in August, and of course I want to come at a time where I can catch a match. I'm considering going up for the Tottenham game, but if theres a European game going on at some point, I'd consider to going to that instead/as well. So sorry if this is an obvious question, but what are the potential dates for us to have a Europa league match? And the matchups are released in a month's time, correct?
  6. He could even be willing to take a slight wage cut to come back here perhaps. He's not at the point in his career where this is his last big move.
  7. Looks good for us then. Just seems to be a question of Lille letting him go ASAP
  8. Nah, we've already got Rob Elliot and Steve Harper. We don't need Enrique.
  9. That's a good point. It would be reckless to break apart any of the team that was so successful last year, especially with the increased schedule.
  10. The only thing I'm worried about would be losing someone to get Carroll. Would he be worth losing one of our key players? I might be tempted to swap Ba for Carroll, only because of Ba's form at the end of last season and the fact that his knees could give out at any second. But other than that, I don't think any of the key performers in our current squad are worth losing. As for Andy, it would be great for his career. He'd come back, without the number 9, having to earn his way into the lineup by featuring predominantly in cup/Europa League games. He'd be out of the limelight a bit, and back where he's comfortable. He'd do magnificently.
  11. Yeah, I'd imagine Pardew's role in negotiatons are finished at this point with Debuchy. He said that he identifies the players with Carr and others, then Charnley and Llambias go and get them. The only further part he'd play I think is in meeting with the player and convincing him of his role at the club, our style, and our strategy. Assuming Debuchy wants to come here as bad as is reported, it's just a question of sorting out terms with Lille, which falls under Charnlias's jurisdiction. Hopefully we hear something today
  12. The two processes aren't related. Lee Charnley and Llambias will have been working even during the match, the transfer isn't in Pardew's hands anymore.
  13. Drogba is the only one I can think of that's even comprable.
  14. We lost to Orlando City last summer. We'll be fine.
  15. This has to mean Debuchy is a done deal. Don't think we'd be letting Simpson go unless we had him lined up
  16. I really like the focus on youth we seem to be taking right now. Buy young, quality players, have them in our system for 1-3 years before they break into the first team so they become an institution at the club. It's a great way forward, and much better than what we had even 2 years ago.
  17. That's a parody account with 15 followers. Don't be ridiculous.
  18. I think the fact that we're getting Smith, Lovenkrands, Guthrie, and potentially Best off the wage bill will allow us to exceed our usual spending a fair bit this summer. One of Ba or Tiote will go though I think, I'd rather them leave than any of Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Krul, Coloccini, or Cisse.
  19. Brazil is really his last chance to perform at a major tournament. Of course he'll fail to live up to expectations there too and he'll end his career as an above average striker who never really fulfilled his potential
  20. But it's even better than that. He's not just saying that he would leave for a great deal, but also only if the manager really wanted him. It's clear he's not content to go to a club like Man City or PSG or Chelsea and sit on the bench. He wants to be a big part of the club and he wants to feel wanted by the manager. Hatem leaving is the least of our worries this summer.
  21. He's a great player but we wont be going after him for a few reasons: -Dempsey has just come off the best season of his career, thus his price will be inflated. -He's Fulham's best player, and they wont let him go for a cheap price -With any move he'd be looking for a substantial pay rise, which we would not be willing to offer -He's 29 -He's not French I'd love him on the team for the next 3 season, but it wont happen.
  22. Here's a question for you all to ponder. If Pardew was sacked tomorrow and you had to appoint either Dalglish or Joe Fucking Kinnear, who would you pick and why?
  23. Up until the group stage games id play an inferior lineup consisting of the likes of Best, Obertan, Shola, Vuckic, and once the group stage hits I'd play the A squad until we're guaranteed to go through. I'd consider making it to the round of 16 a success, and something to build on in subsequent yearS
