  1. If he's not sold I have every confidence he will be able to refocus on trying to get back to his best personal performance. It's the type of personality he appears to have. What I'm not so sure of is whether he will be treated the same by the player group and the supporters. Of course we're not privy to the exact way in which events have transpired, and what has been said behind closed doors so we're being 'informed' by objective-laden media and tight lipped comments from Howe.
  2. It's not ganging up, it's how this forum operates. When someone new comes along they either get it or they don't. If they don't get it and they're thin skinned they can still participate selectively and I would assume still be able to talk everything related to the club whilst ignoring the good natured ribbings that are dished out. If they're thin skinned and thick headed well that doesn't usually end well. It's more of a functionally dysfunctional community than a public forum. The public are welcome but you must respect the local customs and that includes everyone being treated the same.
  3. Ah yes, your personal take on humour, what's it called again, defensive humourless curmudgeon?
  4. If true he looks a handy player, especially at that age. Though probably just wants to go back to Spain/Portugal.
  5. "When I really smack the ball off the drive it's because of my...." Xhaka: "Great club" "What did one caveman say to another caveman?" Xhaka: "Great club" "If they're playing Darude Sandstorm it must be a...." Xhaka: "Great club." "Thanks Granit for the interview." Xhaka: "Great club."
  6. Isn't he supposed to hold up today's newspaper?
  7. And when/if they fail they'll join their long list of players out of favour who can't be sold due to their wages. AND YET we still can't compete financially with the wasteful bastards.
  8. We're only in phase 1 of our summer window. Phase 1: Feign interest in several players to force other clubs to pay inflated wages and fees to get them: ✅ Joao Pedro ✅ Liam Delap ✅ Bryan Mbuemo ✅ James Trafford ✅ Stroppy French Isak ⏹️ Benjamin Sesko ⏹️ Mark Guehi Note: Midway through phase one sign a player so that our more emotional supporters don't riot or top themselves. ✅ Anthony Elanga Phase 2: Once those clubs have spent their loads move on our real targets. ❔Wissa ❔Jan Paul van Hecke ...
  9. One problem we have had is that Howe really likes to win, so if you're not PL level already unless there's an injury crisis or it's a friendly you're not likely to get much time on the pitch. Examples being Wilson favoured over Osula throughout the tail end of last season and Hall having to earn his stripes off the pitch before being given a consistent opportunity on it. Hopefully he's promising enough to see some cup time as we don't have a great record of developing players within our reserves/under 21s. The best we have is the now sold Longstaff and the "would rather watch paint dry" Miley.
  10. Time to relocate the young* Australian** woman*** to be VP of his club? * - at heart ** - allegedly *** - self-identified
  11. Plus also after they have allegedly told him last summer that he would be free to leave for the amount that we've offered them. There was no such agreement with Isak, so a very different situation.
  12. And yet unsurprisingly Liverpool acting like they've had no involvement and have done nothing wrong.
  13. I bet he's dying to see how many thick as fuck journalists ask him the same question dressed up slightly differently about Isak.
  14. I worried about his long term durability anyway. At his peak undoubtedly truly world class but it's not often enough that he's at his peak. Maybe he wants to play somewhere where he isn't expected to press as much as a result, though Liverpool is not exactly the best place for that.
  15. Not disagreeing that he's acting the cunt, but travelling to multiple countries of varying climates just to train with the squad with an 'injury' would have been silly. Apparently he's ice cold on and off the pitch.
  16. City always had the last say. If we agreed a fee earlier there's every chance City would have done the same thing anyway. They were happy with him playing consistently for Burnley in order to develop knowing that they could snap their fingers and bring him back at any time. Smart contract for them. We just happened to be the hopeful saps that triggered them activating their clause.
  17. He has that presence about him but plenty of keepers do and then stumble at some point. Ironically Pickford has had the greatest longevity in the England side. Henderson was supposed to be the next big thing but never kicked on. It'd be great if a fresh start meant that Ramsdale no longer makes errors, but can't see it. You don't get moved on as readily as he has been if your team has full confidence in you ability. That said it should be a vastly different proposition playing for us versus Southhampton.
