  1. I mean you're essentially right with your conclusion but he didn't travel in pre-season because he wasn't fit enough to play, not because he wasn't fit enough to fly.
  2. At least we'll be informed when we make the decision. Despite him moving around a lot for a supposed top keeper he does have a sense of loyalty and effort in the way he plays so he should have passed the Howe attitude test. Worth a try. There's no guarantee that Trafford develops to be a top GK so (searching for silver linings) this could be a better (and cheaper) option for us.
  3. Arsenal did a job on Southhampton selling him for £25m when he couldn't get a game for them. I would hope our option to buy is sub £20m as he didn't increase his value at Southhampton and through the ever forward marching passage of time is now four years older than when Arsenal signed him for £25m ish.
  4. I like the cut of his jib. Sign him up.
  5. All their attack was through Salah who was the best player in the world down the right. He scored plenty for Benfica.
  6. If you squint and look in the other direction there's no injury at all.
  7. Turns out scouting from the premier league leading goal and assists tables hasn't had a great return. Not fit for purpose if you ask me.
  8. Isak missed quite a few very good chances as well, normally went on to score in games where that happened. Nunez does have the physical attributes to fit in our system but gives the impression that he's a bit of a jerk. If he was to come here surely that great motivation for both him and Eddie to improve and possibly best Isak's contributions elsewhere. If we signed him for 5 years that would take him to 29 with a year to run which is probably a good time to sell a striker who relies on their athletic ability. I'd rather Sesko though given his age, but we run the risk with him developing and wanting away similarly to Isak.
  9. Some suggestions that he was taking it easy in the run home so we wouldn't get CL and he'd have a much easier exit. #rememberwhereyouhearditfirst
  10. We also need to pivot to bring someone else in. We can't replace Isak and Wilson with Wissa (who's not even signed yet, and if he does had all the excitement sucked out of it similar to Elanga) and the hope that Osula develops in a hurry. We give him a couple of days and if he's still umming and ahhhing/waiting on Man Utd then we set him a deadline and start preparing to sign someone else. If we fail to bring someone in it's not exaggeration to say it will be catastrophic for our season. We need to make an impression in the champion's league and qualify for Europe (preferably CL, but EL is OK if we go OK in the CL) anything less is a back slide and only makes it more difficult to progress.
  11. So much for prime time. They put me to sleep.
  12. Yes, that Korean lad is a winger for starters.
  13. And we're behind. Our defense has been somewhat crapulent.
  14. Finally some good play, Elanga and Krafu.
  15. Willock, Gordon and Livramento almost tripping over each other. In better news we now have magpies on our socks.
  16. So many poor touches. Good comedy routine from the Korean bench.
  17. Like Arsenal announcing the signing of Gyokeres before our friendly match. We've unfortunately already blown our load with the announcing of the K2 South Korean lad. Possibly we'll have him lead the crowd through a rendition of gangnam style before kick off?
  18. He's 25, he's not finished, but it's going to take him a while to get fully match conditioned. The knee not being right has him compensating and hence picking up these other injuries, which may continue until the conditioning is there.
  19. We'd like to offer whatever you'll accept minus £10m.
  20. Mitchell’s red hot summer
  21. If that does transpire is there any point in the club improving his wages in the meantime? Or do we say sorry Alex noone offered what we need to replace you and end the conversation there? Ideally there is some reciprocation, Isak owning up to his part in the shenanigans and the club wanting to get the most out of him for this upcoming season by keeping things positive. Perhaps an improved contract that includes a buyout clause for an agreed amount, say £130m from next summer. Then he needs to play well in a World Cup year and also to ensure that someone values him at £130m.
