  1. The point is we now have options, quality options where as before it was Murphy or someone out of position. Murphy's no slouch but Elanga is clearly faster.
  2. Bruno's leg was between the Arsenal player and the ball and in playing distance of the ball so he's entitled to shield it as he did, he didn't go in on his shin but he knew Merino was coming and Merino has initiated the contact when playing for the ball. Ref's call is 100% correct.
  3. Om the strength of this you'd have to conclude that they hate us.
  4. Where did I say I'd written him off? And I've seen more of him than that. Seen him play in person too.
  5. Gordon getting the boo treatment every time he touches the ball. Not fans of the headband I suspect.
  6. He's not fast enough to be a fullback or strong enough to be a centre back from what we've seen.
  7. Absolutely nothing in that challenge from Tonali. Zubimedi confirming his nationality.
  8. Alex Murphy doesn't look particularly comfortable playing wide, he played there against Celtic as well and was caught out a few times. Appears that Eddie wants to get a good look at him to decide whether he figures in our defensive cover options this season. Not sure what that means for Targett, who we surely want to sell.
  9. Trippier, still got it.
  10. Gordon winning more friends
  11. Thanks for the clarification, the on screen wipeaway graphic for every replay is too large to read.
  12. Trossard can't resist being a bitch even in a pre-season friendly in Singapore. Kicking the ball out of Trippier's hands picking it up for a GK.
  13. They'd step in shit and come away with a pocket full of cash.
  14. Looking at the line up as expected Howe not at all worried about the result. https://x.com/NUFC/status/1949416976763502633?t=Bxyup7bfmn7s9i4-O8WvGg&s=19
  15. There's no point in comparing a regular job with that of a professional footballer making say £8m a year. What also doesn't get mentioned is that the aggressive movement of players based on having one or two good seasons in their heading into prime years is just another way that the talent pool is hogged by the mega clubs. They're the only teams who can pay those wages, so instead of a team being able to improve their position through holding onto these players and in doing so increasing their appeal, prize money and revenue which can be realised again and again resulting in real growth and progress, they get a one time reward that they then have to rinse and repeat hoping to bring on players who can develop to once again be sold. The amount of talent being wasted on the bench or not even on the bench at these massive clubs is huge.
  16. At one point in time players had a sense of loyalty to their team and their teammates. That rarely runs beneath the surface these days. The money in the game has brought the unscrupulous agents and they are the ones continually in players ears about what they could be getting elsewhere for their own self interest. Combine that with the FA, FIFA etc all protecting their financial positions with payments that favour the powerhouse teams who they can't afford to lose from their competitions. It's shit and it's unfortunately only going to get worse. The only loyalty is from the supporters who suffer the ingrained injustices yet still fiercely support their team. These too will become fewer and fewer with more and more kids simply jumping aboard the bandwagons of the most financially dominant.. err "best" teams.
  17. This sort of reporting is often a pre-cursor for another club coming in and buying the player we're interested in.
  18. Since he was a small boy he's dreamed about scoring at the Kingdom Arena, and since it opened last year he now has the opportunity to realise those dreams. An opportunity he can't refuse.
